We came here 30 minutes before they closed to look at a couple of cats. They could have kicked us out for being so close to closing, but they didn't. We brought our rambunctious ginger cat to meet a couple of others and the staff were so patient as we introduced him to a couple of fellow felines. Thanks to the patient and understanding staff, we were able to take home miss Olive and she has fit into our home seamlessly. Thank you Battle Mountain!! If we adopt another cat, we will definitely come back here. The animals here are so loved and cared for by the staff, it is great to be able to support a shelter like this.

Tonya and the staff at Battle Mountain do us all a service. I am so grateful for what they do. They currently are completely full and can't accept any more dogs. Homeless pets are the responsibility of us all. Please go adopt if you can offer a living home! They need our help desperately! And spay or neuter all of your pets!

The staff here puts the animals’ needs first; I loved seeing that through the adoption process and being able to feel the love they have for the fur babies they have here. They want what’s best for them and want all the animals to be where they’re happiest. I had a wonderful experience with the staff as they helped me with the adoption of my sweet pup. If I end up looking at adding another four legged member of the family I’m definitely going back.

We had the best experience at this shelter! Most of the dogs had big pens or were let out to run and were very excited. The couple running the shelter was so genuine and sweet, you could tell they were a little sad but thrilled to see our baby come home. They explained it was a no kill shelter and it was visible it’s kept very clean. I’d recommend this shelter to anyone in the area looking for a new furry friend! Our baby is happy😊

We have worked with battle mountain several times, have 2 cats and 3 dogs from them. One of our babies would have been killed at any other shelter because of his breed and how long he stayed there. We just can’t imagine life without him though, he is the best boy! They have been wonderful in helping us find our pet babies. They were willing to work with us when we had concerns about our most recent dog addition being cat aggressive, and helped us figure out she was just playful. They were very flexible with us coming to get to know the dogs and cats for several visits to be sure we picked animals that were good fits for our family. They have also helped us board our Great Dane when we were out of town. Kelly, Kathy, Tonia, and Bruce really do go out of their way to make sure the battle mountain animals are a good fit for the families that want them, and are willing to go the extra mile for those pets.

My family and I found a dog and tried to keep her before have to relinquish her to them (she didn't get a long with my female) and when the lady picked her up she told me I don't feel bad we have (gave me a number amount of animals) and told me to try harder and to be a better person.

We have adopted three dogs here. With the third one, we were told that even though she was very skittish, she was too shy to try to escape the yard. After three days she escaped out of the yard and ran away. We searched for her for two months. The humane society found her first, refused to let us see her, and refused to refund our adoption fee. We will never adopt here again.

Clean, very helpful and informative on the pet we picked. He's a sweetie! I'm so glad, they had a pet that was a good match for us. We recently, lost 2 dogs in a months time, one was 15 yrs..n other had bone cancer. It is really going to help fill that void quite a bit! It will take some time for him n everyone else to get use to things. We Welcome our new addition!!!

This is an excellent and clean facility that has lots of space for the dogs who live here. Each dog is expertly cared for and not pent up in a crate. I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found here. The adoption process was thorough but simple. They care about the type of home their animals are going to.

Couldn't have had a better experience!Went in looking to adopt a cat and was impressed with how well looked after they and the dogs were.Friendly, knowledgeable staff who knew the likes and dislikes of each cat and the cats loved them right back!We got our cat, Lenny is his name,and we adore him . Highly recommend this great shelter.

Just adopted our newest family member here! A wonderful No Kill Rescue...we were looking for a small Female Doggo & found an adorable little mini Cocker spaniel. So happy. Paid the Adoption Fee & Donated an Additional amount plus some Doggo Treats as well. A 5 Star Shelter with WONDERFUL Staff. "Bruce"was SO nice! IF u need a new furry Family member this is a great place!

Because the animals are loved,well cared for. And before you adopt a pet the lady finds out if you are a good fit. They come out and look at your home if it acceptable for their animal. If you place is clean, big enough,and if you can afford to take the animal to vets.They get deep into your love for the animal and if you are worthy. As it should be.
