Amazing place to stay. Rented a tent site for our stay out here. Was plenty of room right next to the shower house and the creek. The second day out here we got hit with a huge storm of hail and rain. The one tent got flooded. When I went too get change to dry some of are stuff the owner went above and beyond and put us up in a cabin to make the rest of our stay better and for us to get dry and warm. Have never had a camp ground do so much to keep there campers safe and comfy on there stay with them. Would recommend this campsite to anyone coming to the black hills. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back out here again.Nearby activities: Close to all the main attractions. And centrally located to do them all with not much drive timeSafety: The owners and staff look out for all the campers safety and well being while camping here

All around great find, this place was amazing beautiful property tons of options to choose from cabins to trailer spots the staff is friendly & nice to talk with.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for something centrally located to visit all the local attractions. They also deliver hot pizza right to your trailer door step after a long day if you don’t feel like cooking. The shower house is the best shower house I’ve ever seen in a campground it’s very beautiful and kept very clean as well as kept nice & warm. We will definitely be coming back if we ever return to South Dakota.

LOVE this campground! The staff is amazing and attentive to our every need. Facilities are clean (the bathroom is the best campground bathroom I’ve ever seen!) and you can’t beat the location. We stayed at a site with a gazebo and propane firepit…a real treat! The owners are planning on more updates and we can’t wait to see what’s next! Thanks for a great vacation!

Very Nice place, close to town, very clean, but ..but..but..if it's your first visit, pay very close attention to finding the entrance!! Hello!!! If you miss it, you're screwed because there is NO obvious sign indicating where the campground entrance is. Dear Host, please place a sign in front on the street that a camper can read easily from the road . Thanks!

This campground is excellent. Close to Custer State Park, beautiful surroundings, and near Mount Rushmore. We have a 36ft 5th wheel and had no trouble getting into our site. The grounds are very well kept and sites are comfortable. The pool was warm, the creek running through the property is relaxing, and the campground ammentities are great. We loved that you could order pizza or firewood directly to your site. When it's time to take the garbage out, just set the bag by the road and within minutes the staff picks it up. The bathrooms were clean. If you're looking for a campground in the Black Hills near everything, I would highly recommend this place! The hosts and staff are very friendly!

Wonderful park. Very neat and well kept. Friendly desk staff. The lots along the creek are beautiful, highly recommended, and worth the extra cost because they come with a little covered deck, propane fire table, and Adirondack chairs. 5 minutes to Hill City which has an amazing little grocery store, hardware store, etc.

We had such an amazing time staying at the treehouse with our twin one year old girls! We brought a baby gate and they had tons of space to play upstairs! It was also great having a real bathroom and kitchen area outside of the RV. The staff were all extremely friendly and prompt to help with any issues or questions. A beautiful, friendly campground all around- and right on the trail so it was easy to ride your bike to get into Hill City. I wish all campgrounds had the treehouse option! So fun and unique!

Stayed here for 4 nights with my dog in one of the cabins right on the creek. If you’re looking for fancy cabins - this isn’t for you, but it was exactly what I wanted and I enjoyed my stay. Being right on the creek was so peaceful. The area is beautiful, the amenities are great, and the people there were so kind and helpful. I will definitely be recommending this place and I’ll probably be back myself!

Our family just got back from spending a week in South Dakota and this is by far the best campsite we have stayed at. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make sure my family had a memorable vacation. The property has brand new facilities for showers that were fantastic along with family events planned on the weekends. On Saturday night they had a BBQ and a band that was amazing and it was so great to meet other campers in the area. Having the George S. Mickelson Trail right behind the campsite was amazing and we were able to hop on every morning for a great bike ride. The site is centrally located between Custer State Park and Rapid City making this a great central location for other family members to join us. This will be a new annual camping trip for our family!

We LOVE this campground!!! It is beautiful with many big pine trees, lots of nice grass, and a small creek wandering through the whole property. Everything is clean and very well maintained, and staff are very friendly and helpful. The site we were in was hands down the BEST campsite we've ever had in 23 years of RVing! Also, the resort is right on the Mickelson bike trail, and close to many great attractions. This was our second time to stay here, and certainly not our last.Nearby activities: Close to Mt. Rushmore, Reptile Gardens, the 1880 Train, and very close to Crazy Horse monument.

Talk about accommodating the guests! Wow, this park is very personable, with knowledgeable people who genuinely care about you. Great central location to experience Mt Rushmore, Needles Hwy, trails for bikes and ATV’s, and all the small towns of Hill City, Custer and Deadwood. Can’t beat it!!Walkability: Michelson trail adjacent to the property.

The best place to experience everything the Black Hills have to offer. Centered within short driving distance of everything. Direct access to the Mickelson trail. Situated on a calm, beautiful, winding creek. Tent camping, Full hookup RV sites pull through and back in, amazing glamping sites with decks and gas fireplaces, also a couple with two story decks for amazing views. Hotel rooms, Cabins of all kinds, an on site camp store with coffee bar, that can fill almost every need. A pool, multiple bathhouses, the list goes on and on. Fenced, off leash dog park, and the best owners and camphosts you'll run into anywhere! Customer service and guest comfort and enjoyment are their top priorities and it shows in everything here !

We stayed at Crooked Creek a couple nights in early May. The park had just opened for the season. The weather was cool. Yet, there was a lot of activity, not only because it was the start of the season, but also the owners were putting a lot of effort and resources into improvements. We thought the park was very nice already, but there were big plans underway. We want to stop by here again in a couple years to see the results of all this activity. If you are coming to the Rapid City area for vacation, you’ll want to consider Crooked Creek. It is just south of Hill City, close by many attractions. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The grounds are well kept. The creek itself meanders through the park. Many campsites overlook the creek. Finally, we got the sense (even with just a short stay), that this park is one of those places where families return year after year. If you are looking to start that kind of tradition within your family, this might be the place. We hope to be back in the next few years.

Absolutely well maintained, has everything you need and more on amenities. Camp sites are private and spacious, with a calming and for well kept mountainous atmosphere. Staff was always available and willing to help. The three creeks are running and are beautiful.. site seeing and entertainment within twenty miles but views are everywhere. Our site was 36 !!!! They even have delivery for supplies , food and wood . Small store on site as well . Definitely would camp there again.

Beyond excellent location, staff and facilities. Stayed in an adorable cabin while bike camping along the Mickelson Trail; the property is located immediately adjacent to the trail. The office was technically closed when I arrived but the host Eric drove over and greeted me. He was super friendly and took the time to show me multiple cabins and provided maps and other information. The cabin and shower facilities were clean and everything was in good condition. On demand HOT water and good pressure. The property is incredible, many of the sites sit along a beautiful creek. So many well thought out details that add to the ambiance for example decks on the cabins, lighting that looks like gas lanterns and unique RV sites. You can tell the owners and staff really care I didn’t even see a single piece of garbage on the ground. I typically camp multiple times per month and this is one of the nicest campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at.

Booked last minute after we had to cancel at Yellowstone and expected it to be super sketchy...Pleasantly surprised. The folks running it are super nice and basically plan your time in the area for you at check in. (Where to go, when, and how to get there)Pool is small, but was warm enough. It's nice but gets crowded if there are more than 2 families there.Super close to everything you'll want to do, like 30 minutes to most everything we wanted to do.They're currently doing construction on an addition, I'm assuming, but even being super close to it, we've never really heard it and they're working before we wake up.I'd definitely recommend one of the premier sites, the tree house looked like it would be a sweet place to hang out after hiking the trails nearby. No idea on pricing on that, though.

We had such a wonderful experience here. There was live entertainment, BBQ food set up and cooked for you while you relax and enjoy the evening. We have a 45' motorhome which they had no problem accommodating. The sites are clean and spacious and they actually escorted us to our space. The staff is always available and very helpful and friendly. Very highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.

Superb Customer Service! We stayed 5 nights over Labor Day weekend and had a fantastic stay!Worked with Pat and ultimately Lars for our site booking and they were both outstanding. Got to say hi to Pat when we arrived but didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Lars during our stay. The young worker bees, Pascal and Ben were also amazing as well as our favorite firewood salesman/storyteller, Gage. All very friendly and willing to help in any way needed. Everything was very clean and well taken care of and you can tell they are making many improvements around the park. This campground in right in the heart of everything and had many nearby ATV trails that we didn’t have to drive too far to get to. We did a lot of trail riding on our side-by-side and also took it through Custer State Park which was amazing! The only thing that didn’t seem to be up to par was the pool – the water was very cold and it didn’t seem like the filter was working properly. We spent most of our time riding and sight seeing so it wasn’t a big deal. The night before we were to leave, we had a pretty good snow storm which was kind of crazy for September 7th but it was kind of exciting and very beautiful. The snow did not hinder our trip home at all the next day, thankfully :)We would highly recommend this park, especially if you are going to be trail riding, and we will definitely be back!
