We stayed here 3 nights and it was just what we needed. Very affordable for a tent site. The bathrooms/showers were clean and well maintained. The camp host Rocky was very nice and helped us have a great stay. This is a small campground so it was relatively quiet except for some noise from the road. Great location, very central for a lot of the activities in the hills. We hope to come back here again.

Stayed at this campground over the 4th of July weekend! As soon as we pulled in, the amazing camp host, Rocky, was there to greet us.She even took me over to the next door restaurant to stock up on ice as the restaurant was closing soon.Rocky immediately told us everything we needed to know about the property and then delivered, and stacked, our fire wood (we purchased in advance) next to the fire pit.Very cozy campsite!

We stayed here on our way to visit Mount Rushmore in a Class A 32 foot RV. We stayed in the upper RV spots with our Class A. I cannot say enough good stuff about this place. The location is awesome, on the little creek, and side of the mountain, it was so cool. We were running late, and I called ahead to let the host know. Her name was Rocky, and she was so nice. When we got there, she saw us pulling in and came right over to guide us to our spot. Then she delivered a bunch of firewood that I pre-ordered. She gave us the layout and let us know where she was if we had any questions. For us, our first trip this far west, she could not have made us feel more welcome. The shower house was immaculate. I could not believe how clean they were. The stalls were roomy and everything from floor to ceiling was spotless. The spot we had was perfect (RV14). It was roomy, there was pretty good separation between the spots, and each had a sturdy picnic table with fire ring. The gravel was compact, and grass well maintained. The bonus I did not count on was the creek behind our spot. We were elevated above it, something which was hard to tell from the maps and satellite views, but the sound of it was so relaxing. I was able to pop my window open while sleeping and listen to it all night long and it was so peaceful. We did not get there in time to be able to go to Smoke Jumpers restaurant, but it is a very short walk to get there. The next morning, we were about 20 minutes away from Mt Rushmore, so it was a very convenient spot if that is what you are there for, as we were.I highly recommend this campground for anyone heading out there to stay and Rocky is the best!Noteworthy details: Great for Class A RV. Host was very friendly and helpful. Location was unique and very scenic. Rest rooms were immaculate.

We stayed here for a few nights during Sturgis. The cabins were very clean and well kept. The bathroom/shower house was very clean and user friendly. The camp host Rocky did an amazing job and was beyond helpful, she went out of her way to make our stay amazing. We will definitely stay here again if we travel to SD again. Overall very impressed and grateful we found such a wonderful accommodation last minute.

I loved it here. We’re on a 2 week RV trip. So far, this is the only RV Park (out of 3) that I have anything good to say about it and I will come back here. Park host was lovely, sites were big clean and comfortable. We fit with our SUV, 30ft travel trailer, plus family. Everyone could relax outside and actually feel like you had plenty of space. Winery and brewery on site were great. The wine tasting was also nice - they do dry reds really well. Look forward to visiting again.

My husband and I stayed at the Firehouse Campground for one night in late June. We wanted a comfortable place close to Mount Rushmore, as we were going to be getting an early start the next morning to check out the monument. Our cabin couldn't have been more perfect -- comfortable bed, simple amenities (including a working A/C!), clean bathrooms, overall relaxing vibe, and only about 20 minutes to Mount Rushmore. After a super easy check-in with Rocky, the friendly camp host, we walked to their sister restaurant for dinner, and enjoyed our evening drinking wine at the table outside our cabin. The bathroom/showers were also super clean and modern. My only regret is that I wish we had booked one more night!

Firehouse Campground was incredibly clean, comfortable and convenient to all the activities offered in SD! We stayed in a cabin, it was perfect and soooo clean! the campground host Rocky, came and greeted us, gave us some great information and was very good about getting back with us on some questions we had! The best part, her personality was contagious, seriously the best! My kids loved fishing in🎣 the watering hole! They even caught a few! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely lovely place to pull in our RV and stay for a few days!!! Camp Host Rocky was extremely friendly and helpful when we needed a couple of things. Very easy RV hookups!! The facilities were kept super clean and were easily accessible when we didn’t want to use our own. The location was perfect for adventuring from, centrally located to many of the Black Hills attractions. (The only “downside” was poor wifi.) We couldn’t have picked a better spot for our 6-day adventure in South Dakota!!! Thank you for everything!!!

Great place. Reasonable. Wifi is sketchy but the camp host is amazing. For those that have a hard time backing in, it's fabulous. Easy sites for backing. Roomy sites.Nearby activities: Mount Rushmore, Crazyhorse, Custer State Park

My family and I just stayed here and had a great experience! The cabin was clean, beds very comfortable, bedding nice and soft. Had all the amenities needed to make us comfortable while giving us the experience of camping…or, more like glamping. The bath house was clean, which is a huge deal when you’re traveling with children. Location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area. Recommending Firehouse Campgrounds to everyone I know who will be road tripping to SD.

Very cute and clean cabin. Showers are free and just short walk from the cabins. Camp host was very friendly! My fridge in my room had stopped working and she got it switched out right away for me.

We stayed in one of their new lodge rooms and loved it! Myself, husband and our two teenage grandsons can't wait to go back again! Bathrooms/showers just around the corner from our room. The host, Rocky, was awesome! Beautiful area, Hill City just down the road, Custer the other direction.

Thank you Rocky for hosting us at this beautiful quiet campground. We had plenty of room for our 2 class A motorhomes. The dogs had fun with so much wilderness to check out. It was kept tidy & our host was friendly & helpful. Centrally located with easy access to all the sites & fun stuff.

We had to book a site at this campground at the last minute. It was worth it. We were assigned a site on the hill overlooking the other campsites. Showers and toilets. Electric and water at the campsite. The well water was really good! The host was friendly too. Bars and restaurants nearby and winery just down the road. Nice and centrally located for Black Hills activities. Recommended.

Wonderful!!! We had our RV and 2 tents on the spot and the spot still had plenty of room. Easy to pull our RV into and had full hookups. The bathrooms were clean, the campground was clean. The firepit was great. They had outdoor games, rocking chairs by the creek and a spot that the kids could swim in the creek. It was wonderful and we can't wait to book our stay for next year!!

Great little campground outside of Rapid City. It recently added cabins and lodge rooms. They are new, clean and the bathroom is large and kept clean as well. Lodge rooms have fridge and microwave. There is a TV in the room, but there is no internet or cellular signal, so the TV is worthless. The campground host was very nice, and checked in on us the morning after we checked in.

This is a wonderful RV Park! Plenty of space and lots of room for the kids to play in the huge grassy field along the creek. The location is perfect, a few miles outside of Hill City and 20 to 30 minutes away from everything the black hills has to offer. We had a 40' motorhome and had an easy time parking and getting set up. If you plan to RV in the blackhills, Firehouse Campground is a great place to stay!

Wish there was a pool (well, the kids do) but the surroundings are gorgeous! There's a steam running through and the host is fantastic! Grounds are clean and well kept, campers are all friendly. This was the only place open when I reserved but I'm so glad we ended up here. Would come again!

This place was great, rented a little cabin for 5 of us. It worked great for a center point to visit all our places. Prices were more than reasonable, hot showers. Rocky was the best, she is a great hostess.
