Without a doubt the slowest Dairy Queen we've ever experienced. Again!Very warm Sunday afternoon and only two employees working. And the cook was working the grill with no hairnet or beard net! Took us a half hour to get two blizzards. We literally could have driven to Sioux Falls, gotten our blizzards, and driven back in about the same amount of time.This is an ongoing problem at this particular Dairy Queen. This place should be a gold mine but the service continues to get worse, showing that the owners don't care and are running this business into the ground. We have decided to stop patronizing this business and drive to Sioux falls or eat elsewhere in Dells!Enough is enough. We have given this business owner the benefit of the doubt and continued to return even after several bad experiences.But we have had enough

Have had multiple bad experiences at this place. Last time I got chili cheese fries they came in a tiny tray and were so overly salted I couldn’t eat them. My wife went to get blizzards tonight and waited over a half an hour in the drive thru to only get completely melted blizzards with barely any toppings. This is by far one of the worst Dairy Queen’s in the state

I will applaud them where it's owed. Their workers know how to stay busy, and are seemingly friendly. When it comes to consistency, they are consistently hot garbage. I live in the area and have given several chances to the place. I ordered a chicken strip basket sometime ago. It was ice cold. It's one time no big deal, I just stopped getting chicken. Started ordering burgers. The first one was good. The second one I got was freezer burnt. I gave a third chance to the burger, and it tasted like fish. How do you make a all beef patty taste like fish? That should have been the end, but I thought there was no way they could screw up ice cream. I only went to the place for ice cream about 4 times since then. Let me tell you they blew away my expectations this last time. I pulled up in the drive through, ordered a blizzard, and paid. I waited 15 minutes for this blizzard. A different drive thru attendant was about to take my money, until the other one notified him I already paid. I saw him pick up my blizzard after this and stare at it. He handed it to me and his arm twitched. He was about to do the blizzard flip. He didn't because he knew how melted it was. My cup was wet from the sweat. I asked for a new one. I waited about a minute, and they handed me the same blizzard. They were blown away. Next time don't hand me the same wet cup. I called them out and they told me they added more ice cream, and it's runny because they put too much chocolate sauce. Okay fine, but you handed me a bad product, but it's okay because it's bad for a different reason then I stated. Clearly, the pride in their product is non existent. I want it to be known I've visited this place less than a dozen times.

Do not recommend. With being one of the only food places in Dell Rapids you would think the service would be great. Definitely NOT the case. The workers that were working tonight were on their phones with customers in the lobby. Food took 15-20 when we were the only ones there. And food was not up to par at all. Didn’t even tell us our food was ready it just sat on the counter. The girl that brought our ice cream didn’t even know what she was handing to us. Just don’t recommend

40 minutes for food! Better yet 40 minutes to fix it.This has to be the worst DQ in the country.We visit once a year for the last decade, and it has always been garbage. I'm not sure why we keep going back.

Horrible service. It took 25 minutes to get our food. My daughter ended up going to the counter and getting the kids meals that were just setting there. She ordered a cheeseburger with ketchup only, and I ordered a cheeseburger with ketchup and onions only. Both of our cheeseburgers had mustard and pickles (which we both hate!) & ketchup. Worst DQ I've ever eaten at!

Well ordered food , lady cut are order off so had to finish at the window , waited awhile to pay because they were to busy talking in-front of the window , then food took way to long to get , then let me tell ya that food was not good at all , they must never clean the fryers every thing from the chicken , frys and fish were just old fryer grease and gave it that dark nasty burnt taste , we ended up not eating it , glad I could pay to fill the land fill some more , not fast food or fan food just trash food !

The service was terrible and the food was below average. The gentleman taking our order couldn't make eye contact or barely speak to us. We had to repeat the order twice and they still got it wrong. Tried to use the woman's bathroom and it was so gross that I decided to skip it. The food was made incredibly sloppy and incorrect as it had toppings we didn't request on it and we asked for no tomatoes and they were on them.

Went for a quick lunch with my boyfriend. Ordered honey glazed strips and a bacon deluxe with no tomato or onion. Got a regular burger with tomato and onion and got regular chicken strips. Wouldn’t recommend

It’s so bad :( Really stinks because it would be so great to have good fast food here. Service is always extremely slow like upwards of 20 minutes for a blizzard. The food always seems old and icky. There are always bags of trash just thrown out by the door. It feels like no one cares :/ I only leave this review because if really love to see management or someone care enough to make some improvements

Probably worst fast food meal we've ever had. Chicken strips were lukewarm, soggy and gross. Fries were cold and tasted like grease was old. The coke tasted like chlorine. The only thing that was edible was the malt. Would give no stars if possible.

burgers were cold, I went through drive through and got the wrong burgers, I was on my way to work so just pulled into a parking lot instead and went in to reorder, and Ehat I ordered had paper thin bacon on it that you couldn't even tell there was any. I took one to my daughter and she ate it but complained the outside and bun was dry and also that it did not have the bacon.It was a 1 quarter bacon chz burger. I have ordered this there before it it has been good, But this time makes me never want to go back for that again.We were both very disappointed for the money I spent.

Store is never properly staffed as it regularly takes 20 minutes to get food...in a fast food restaurant. Took 10 minutes to get my order taken. A couple was waiting for just drinks when I arrived and they said they waited 20 minutes for drinks, not even ice cream. Staff argued with a customer over the size of their Orange Julius. Real nice customer service. I was told that my drink order didn't matter because I had to get it myself. Again, real nice service. Also, no ice in the ice machine. Either the manager of this location is completely inept or the owner doesn't care one bit or more likely a combo of the two. This dairy Queen is lucky it's basically the only option in town because it should be shut down and save it's staff the embarrassment. Absolutely ridiculous, will not be returning. ....wrote this review while waiting for my food. Still waiting.... Still waiting...

Food has been good. But they seem to take a bit longer than other dairy queens, whether that is because I go during busy times, or maybe the summer staff are not as skilled, I don't know. I also have never gone through the drive through and gotten my soda with no ice as I have asked, so there seems to be lacking communication on that aspect. But still, the people working there are very nice, and the food still tastes great, and I cannot see my hometown of Dell Rapids existing without it.

Horrible doesn't even describe my experience. Stopped in after a friend and I had gone to field day, we both had our youngest boys with us. The chicken strips were hardly edible, clearly they had been sitting under a warmer for a long time, the fries were cold and stale with tons of salt. My friend ordered a crispy chicken sandwich which looked like a ball of grease. None of the employees had a hat on, in the food industry that's not acceptable. Looked like the employees were just random people pulled off the street to work.

We went in and ordered a #4 and a #3. When I asked for the drink cups he looked funny and gave me 1. I told him we ordered a #4 and #3. That should be 2 cups. When the food came up there was only 1 fry. Asked about the other fry and they said we only ordered the sandwiches and we already got 2 free drinks so if we wanted another fry we had to pay for it. He never asked if we wanted combos. We assumed when we ordered a #4 and #3 we were ordering combos. Not very good customer service!!

It's not even worth 1 star. The Buffalo sauce and the sprite was the only thing that hit the spot. And I've had dairy queen in other towns and it's usually the same. The meat isn't it. The buns. The chicken strips??? What even are they doing.... I think we spent more time dying laughing than actually eating. Everything was just poorly done and every single food item isn't dairy queen. They went to the store and bought frozen patties,fries, and chicken strips. It's edible tho? So i guess 1 star on that

Just wanted some fries and a shake, got the shake they almost forgot my fries and they were soggy and cold when I did get them. And I could see a teenager walking through the kitchen with a tank top ripped down to his waist and all sorts of skin showing. Apparently this was one of the managements kids. Couldn't believe how insanely unsanitary this place was. As a long time employee of the food service industry I not only believe in good service I expect and demand clean sanitary conditions for me and my family's food. Would be zero stars but I apparently have to at least give them one for my post to submit.

This DQ had very friendly workers and the hamburger was fresh, tender, and tasty. The fries were a little bland. Of course my hot fudge sundae was delicious and all this plus a drink for $6.00. What a deal!

The bun on my sandwich was so soggy I couldn't even pick it up, had to use a knife and fork. Tables were not wiped down so we had to search for a clean one. Fries were like rubber. No tray's to put garbage on and nothing to put ketchup in had to use a napkin. Awful experience in my opinion!
