We visited end of April/beginning of May 2024: An excellent place to stay during a Deadwood visit. The hotel is the best SpringHill Suites I have visited (I have Titanium Elite Marriott status). Rooms are EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN. Shower water pressure was outstanding. The underground car park was wonderful-but not free (however worth it!). We could take the elevator from our room almost to our car door. Breakfast was typical but don't expect them to serve coffee or food early (as with all other Marriott properties). 6:30AM start for breakfast was typically 6:45 during our 3-day visit. I brought my own Keurig machine so I could enjoy my coffee when I wanted it. Their coffee machine stopped working after the brief breakfast period?!?!The outdoor fire pit was incredible, but the road noise was most annoying. You can visit any of the restaurants or other hotels without going outside from the hotel-very nice. Oh, the gambling is everywhere and in your face but we are NOT gamblers so schedule your stay accordingly. Many men without wives playing biker boys, so be prepared. (Hey, if you have to trailer your bike in, you are NOT a biker but a poser).Bottom Line: The best place to stay in Deadwood insofar as commercial hotel chains.

Hotel was great. Stay was great. I got home and noticed a charge on my credit card that shouldn’t be there. It was for parking. I didn’t have a car. I called and asked why I was charged. Doris told me they would get it fixed. Waited a week and called again because I still wasn’t refunded. They only wanted to refund me for one night of parking. Doris was not helpful and seemed annoyed that I kept calling. They refunded the wrong card. I waited again and still wasn’t refunded. I called again and got put on hold and transferred and then straight to voicemail. Customer service is not helpful at all and I still haven’t been refunded my money.

Very poor experience with the person I talked to on the phone as well as Jason the Mgr who called back and left a voice mail. Unfortunately, due to blizzard conditions in the Rapid City/Deadwood area, I had to call to cancel my reservation with only 24 hours notice instead of the 48 hours the hotel requires. We waited as long as we could to cancel because we were looking forward to visiting Deadwood and had previously enjoyed staying at Springhill Suites and playing at the Casino there. I was informed I would still be charged for one night of the stay due to waiting too long to cancel. I wasn't happy with the policy and made my thoughts very well known. The person on the phone did cancel the room and transferred my call to the Mgr VM. I left a message requesting the one night charge to be waived. I received an arrogant VM back from Jason the Mgr stating it is my fault that he cannot waive the charge because I insisted on canceling the room when I talked to the 1st person on the phone instead of waiting to talk to him directly. I was not told that from the 1st person I talked to. Again, I would not have cancelled if there wasn't the blizzard conditions and unfortunately waited to make that decision.

Springhill suites is an excellent choice. The rooms are standardized across the chain, I appreciate knowing what to expect.Clean rooms, spacious, and not outrageously expensive. Casino and restaurants attached to the lobby, very convenient.Rooms: Every Springhill suites room I have stayed in across the country has been almost identical. Spacious, well appointed, comfortable, and safe.Nearby activities: This hotel is in the same building as the casino and several restaurants. The badlands are about 45 minutes away, Rushmore is an hour away. Lots to see and do.Safety: Very safe area and hotel.

I purchased 2 rooms thru travelocity for this hotel. unfortunately a snow storm made me cancel (which I did within the free cancellation policy on travelocity) this hotel charged my card anyway. when I contacted travelocity, they told me to call the hotel. the hotel said that we didn't cancel in time - which is a lie and then they told me to contact travelocity. I have contacted travelocity again and they have been working with SpringHill Suites by Marriott Deadwood to refund me which Springhill is refusing to do – even though I canceled within the timeframe needed to cancel by. This hotel is a scam! Anyone reserving directly or indirectly should be leery of having their card used when it shouldn't be, and the hotel refusing to refund. I also had to call 3 times to speak to somone. First time they said they'd call me back and never did. The whole experience says stealing money from people

Great hotel on the edge of town. Rooms were quiet and large. Only downside, is the toilet sat really low to the ground. Other than that fabulous stay! Bathroom was quite large and the room and sitting area was good size as well. You do pay for parking, but you get to park underground and they give you money to use in the casino, buy one get one at Starbucks and other perks. Breakfast was good and hot. The pool and hot tub were great! Our family enjoyed everything. I felt very safe in this hotel as well. The staff from check-in, to house keeping and check-out were very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

This is a great location. You can walk to any store and restaurant in the downtown area. I recommend using the underground parking rather than to outside parking lot. Safer and easy in and out access. You pay the same no matter which place you park. A couple of other notes. Since I am not a gambler, it was disappointing that the bar in the lobby was not open. You have to go into the casino to get an alcoholic beverage so we didn't. Loss of revenue for the hotel. In the guest rooms, they are very nice and spacious. You might consider getting night lights for the bathrooms since you have to turn on the light in the middle of the night and since the door is glass, it shines right on the bed. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and comfortable beds.

Upon arrival the door to my room had a problem and wouldn't shut. I called the front desk and let them know. 30 minutes later I was still waiting for maintenance. I called again and they decided to move me to another room. No apology, no upgrade, no discounts offered. They were not obligated to do any of that, but it would have been good customer service. Nice hotel though. It's just far from the old downtown area. But the casino staff are all amazing and friendly and it's a fun place to stay and play.

Amazing hotel, rooms are very nice and service is great. Good continental breakfast as well.Rooms: Very nice rooms, probably the best hotelI’ve ever stayed at.Nearby activities: Deadwood has a lot of things to do, walking around the downtown is pretty fun in the summer. In the winter Terry Peak ski hill is very fun as well, and only a 20 min drive

This is an excellent hotel just on the edge of town. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have underground parking that kept our motorcycle and trailer secure. The pool is large, heated, and has an infinite edge. The hot tub is massive and has cool mood lights at night. The only drawback was breakfast. They serve the same sausage and eggs every day. In addition to the hot foods, they also have a great selection of fruits and cereal. The hotel is part of a massive building containing other hotels, casinos, and restaurants, and it's only a short walk to historic downtown.

Not sure why but the bath tub is not a normal size tub. Why have a tub that only fits small children? I travel a lot and enjoy soaking in a tub after a long drive. Also please put in Sr. Height toilets the one in the room is very low. Hard for people with hip and knee issues. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.Nearby activities: This hotel is adjacent to a casino and three casino type restaurants. Has a bar but it was closed at 10pm. Has breakfast in hotel. Pool was open.

Hotel is part of a large casino complex. It has a dedicated parking garage on the far north side of the building, with a fee. No longer offering drink tickets, just a BOGO coupon for drinks at the casino and some gambling promos. Definitely get a room on floor 3+ facing the street, otherwise you’re looking at a brick wall. Floors 1-2 on the north side of the building are looking directly into the pool area. Our room was one floor above the pool and still had a strong chlorine smell. There was also an “off” smell we noticed during our 3 day stay— turns out someone urinated behind the bed (we finally located it on our last day). Would not stay here again.

My husband and I had an amazing time staying here. The rooms are spacious and clean and staff was friendly. The parking lot in front of the hotel was packed and parking around the side of the building was not marked. We were able to park in the underground parking garage which was nice. We loved having food and entertainment options connected to the hotel. The hotel had a mini convenience store which is also a great benefit. We wish breakfast stayed open a little longer!

Best hotel in Deadwood! Best hotel staff - BIG shootout to housekeeping staff (and Steve at front desk). Professional. Exceeded expectations. If you are staying for Sturgis and want the action, and also want peace and quiet at night this is your hotel. On Main St Deadwood, but actually off of the main street of Deadwood by a few hundred feet. Breakfast is included. Plenty of parking and it's free for guests

The rooms are clean and comfortable, adhering to the standards of Marriott as a chain. It paid parking though, but they give coupons which can be redeemed at the bar.The bartender, Barbara is super nice and friendly, definitely 5 stars for her hospitality!

The room was very comfortable, but dark. I wish hotels would get rid of dark furniture and furnishings that suck the light out of the room.Would have liked a view of something other than the cement wall.Food & drinks: For the quality of the hotel/casino the food was substandard. I would expect better than Earl of Sandwich or a pizza slice.

Staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Hotel main areas and rooms were very clean! Heated garage was convenient and easily accessible. Your average continental breakfast. Pool area very clean and neat!Only negative comment would be that the sofa was extremely uncomfortable to sit on.

A disappointing stay here!First, I didn’t get anything as a platinum member when I checked in. I even hinted the guy at reception if I can have bottled water, he told me it will $3.00/bottle. I brought this question the next morning when I was checking out, the lady told me that they only give 2 bottles of water to the platinum member.Secondly, during the breakfast, I overheard the chat between lady working at breakfast and the lady doing the cleaning. So obviously the lady working at breakfast said she has coughing. I also overheard they talked about fever. I mean you shouldn’t ask an employee who is feeling unwell to work, especially in the kitchen. It’s not good for employees and the guests.Third, the $15 “free”cash hotel give you to gamble in the casino next door is not real because it was only virtual cash as you still need to pay real cash from yourself to activate. Then, they cheat you $15.00/night for parking fee, and there was also a fee called Restaurant room charge on my bill. They have two computers for guest uses, but they are there mostly for show only because the computers still use ancient Internet Explorer browser which made me unable to visit many websites I wanted. Even Microsoft itself abandoned Internet Explorer browser now and uses Edge.

The staff were helpful and nice. It didn't matter what time of day we were in the staff maintained their hospitality. The room was clean and put together so nice. The bathroom was clean and didn't have any gross spots hiding. It was so spacious and it seemed like everything was shining. Highly recommend staying here for anyone: single, couples, groups, families.

I encountered one friendly staff member the entire time otherwise I felt like an inconvenience when I asked any questions at all. The rooms were okay, our couch was dirty so we had to throw a sheet over it. The pool staff informed us they were "out of towels after this." When I went to grab a cup of coffee 10 minutes before the close of breakfast, it had already been shut down. It wasn't a bad stay, but I've had a lot better experiences elsewhere.

No mention of a 15 per day parking fee for a bad parking lot. Wife and I actually witnessed a truck damage a mini van because the lot is so small. Other than that the place was great but misrepresentation by omission on the parking fee is not acceptable from a business

Without a doubt one of the best 3 star hotels in the Black Hills. The room was incredibly clean and well maintained. It was quiet even for being on the main strip. Being able to close the double curtains and make it nice and dark was a plus. The TV guide having HBO Go and Showtime apps available for free was a nice touch as well as being able to log into your own Netflix. The little food shop at the front desk making it unnecessary to go out for snacks and drinks was great, especially since parking can be a bit of a struggle, though the underground parking was surprisingly spacious and usually had room. Each staff member I interacted with was quite friendly and made every effort to ensuring I was having a great stay. I don't see myself staying elsewhere on any future trips to the area as long as the prices remain reasonable.

Very clean nice place. Be sure to book in advance for best pricing as many travelers wait until last minute and deadwood fills up. Nice breakfast with eggs, sausage, etc. only bad thing is that they cheat you out of $15 for parking outside in a lot but don’t tell you until you register on-site.
