We have taken all of our pets to Southern Hills and each time our visit has been wonderful. Everyone is caring and patient. Our animals are in good hands, and treated with kindness.I never felt rushed and all questions are answered during the visit.

We were in Custer on vacation from Texas when our 17 year old Bassett Hound got very sick. We didn't have an appointment but this clinic took us in immediately.Everyone at the clinic was so kind and friendly. Sadly our buddy didn't make it. As heart broken as we were, the compassion that was showed to us eased our pain. Everyone here loves your pet and takes the time to show it. Thank you so much for your kind words and sentiments.Ever

We were traveling in a motorhome, and our dog was drinking excessive water and having accidents, and also eating excessively. We called Southern hills and they took her in in one day. We had to leave her there and they worked her in between other customers. They found a uti, and also diabetes! We were very surprised and they were very good about explaining everything to us. We now have her on insulin twice a day, and she was on a antibiotic also. She is feeling much better! It's very scary having something go wrong while on the road and I can't thank them enough for the caring way they took care of her and to us! I would recommend them to anyone!

Wanted a little break from our 3 Italian Greyhounds. We decided to board them here while at Custer. They took such great care of our babies. Highly recommend them. We even took one back as we thought she cut her eye, and the vet saw her. Luckily, nothing was wrong just a little something in her eye.

Best animal hospital I've ever dealt with. Kind, loving and gentle. So knowledgeable. Sharon explains everything and writes it down for you to absorb later. Most reasonable prices to care fo those beloved members of your family. When we had to put our 13 year old baby out of his misery and they were so wonderfully humane. Didn't try upselling and taking advantage of our grief. Dr Sharon (she's a treasure) and staff are to be commended. I would give a trillion stars if I could.

This pet clinic is a couple miles East of Custer on the highway to the park but it is well worth the short drive. The service was very professional and super fast. I appreciate the no nonsense approach and if I have questions they will slow down and answer when needed.

My Corgi of 15yrs passed away while we were camping in the Custer area. Southern Hills was very helpful in getting cremation services and remain returned before we headed home. The staff was very helpful and supportive during this time of grief for my family.

We were traveling through the area and one of my dogs was not feeling well. I was able to get a last minute appointment and the staff was very accomodating helping get him checked out. Follow up appointments and aftercare have been great also.

Miss Gracie went in to get her final pre delivery checkup on Wednesday. Everything went smooth and we were told anytime between Saturday and the following Thursday we should have puppies. Just as the Dr. said Saturday evening we went into labor and by the wee hours of the morning we had six beautiful puppies. Suggestions from them helped out considerably. They are knowledgeable, personably and affordable. Thank you for helping us through the pre pregnancy stage.

Awesome clinic. The staff is great and the dr.s are too. Love their set up for getting anxious dogs into a calm place when they get there. Very accomodating. Great email reminder of visit. Can't say enough good things about this clinic.And very reasonably priced.

I've used this vet office a few times. Rose is absolutely the sweetest woman and held me when my service dog Lilly Belle passed away very unexpectedly from a perforated stomach ulcer that just wasn't caught in time. The vet surgeon on duty did a necropsy for free because her death was so sudden but knowing I did everything I could for her brought me peace of mind. I didn't have a car and they kept her out for me to come say goodbye for about 2 hours and treated her body with respect placing a blanket over her and preparing me for what I would see when I went to say goodbye. Rose gave me a hug as I sobbed in her scrubs and reassured me that my girl wasn't in pain when she passed and that she talked to her while she was coding telling her it would be OK and while I couldn't be there to do that I'm so grateful she had Rose by her side. They sent me a condolence card and inside was paper with my girls paw print. They also stayed in contact with me when her ashes came in.

These people are the BEST!!! Dr. Sharon treats her pet patients as if they were her own. Her knowledge, kindness, patience in explaining procedures, treatments, diagnoses, etc. for my retired Military Working Dog is beyond compare. My guy is a hero to Dr. Sharon and her staff due to his military service, and Dr. Sharon and her staff are heroes to him for the loving care they provide him. Huge kudos to Dr. Sharon and each and every member of her professional and dedicated staff. You're awesome!

If you are planning a trip with your pet to the Custer, SD area, I highly recommend this boarding facility. Dogs are not allowed on the trails at Devil's Tower and several of the other nearby National Parks and of course you can not leave them in your car while you hike.We boarded Nala here when we took a day trip to Devil's Tower. I have 5 years of experience working at a boarding facility in a veterinarian's animal clinic. This facility met my extremely high expectations. 5-stars.

This is hands-down the best vet clinic in the West. I have a special-needs kitty with GI trouble, diabetes, and more who is very difficult to treat and has completely stumped other veterinarians. Dr. Sharon and her wonderful crew have helped us finally get onto the right track. They are professional, courteous, and absolutely brilliant, and they take good Covid precautions as well.

I neglected to make sure I had enough travel med for Kena before we left home for a 6 week road trip. By the time we reached Custer, it was clear I would run out WAY before we got home. I reached out to SHAC to see if they would refill if my home vet clinic would fax a script, and yes they would. Found out the next day, that my clinic wouldn't do that as Kena was overdue on her annual and wasn't scheduled to be seen until the week following our return. I reached out again to SHAC and they were so kind, were able to work Kena in to their tight schedule, do her annual complete with blood work while we were still in town, gave me copies of all the necessary paperwork for my home clinic, and refilled her trazadone!!!! And all for a very reasonable cost! Sharon, the vet, was so kind and understanding, and Sarah at the front desk was also!!!! Kudos to all of you at SHAC for helping a traveler out and going above and beyond!!!!! So grateful from an Oregon tourist!!!!

The staff was wonderful. I should mention I called in advanced and they gave me advice over the phone which I think is great instead of telling me to just come in. We did however have to make a visit. Beyond friendly, warm, and comforting. They calmed two worried fur parents. Treated our fur baby, and never made us wait. It made a scary incident less terrifying. Will be visiting the clinic from here on out.

We had a great experience at Southern Hills Animal Clinic. We are visiting the area and our dog had a small issue we needed to have checked out. Everyone at this clinic are friendly and helpful, especially the doctor herself. They always take great care of our pets. From spaying / neutering to check ups and shots. Our dog loves her Vet so much she was super excited to go in today for stitches and a come of shame. Probably won't be as happy coming home, but I know right now she's in great hands she's comfortable with and getting top notch care. ♡♡♡♡

Passing thru town and needed a 2nd round of vaccinations for our new puppy. Southern Hills was friendly, accommodating and professional. The clinic was clean and calm. The tech whom administered our pup's vaccinations was great and pup didn't even feel it. She took her time to answer our questions. I'd highly recommend this clinic.
