Was in Custer Park a year ago and my check engine light came on. Engine went to limp mode and I had a tick on the passenger side that wasn't there. Looked on my phone and called this shop. He said he'd look at it. When I got there he said he would have to run a diagnostic and wouldn't do it until I paid $75 up front. He ran the test and said I had a bad knock sensor. He went into a long explanation of how to replace it and told me he wasn't interested in doing the job because he was leaving town for the weekend. I said there was a loud tick in the engine that would increase when you revved the engine and that I thought it was a lifter issue. He pointed to the ASE Certified patch on his shoulder and basically told me that "he" was a trained mechanic and I wasn't. I said let's start the engine so you can hear the tick and he said I didn't know what I was talking about. Needless to say we left and limped to a Chevy dealer an hour away where they found that two lifters on the passenger side of the engine were bad. We had them replace both sides to avoid future headaches. I rented a car to get back to Custer and three days later we got our truck back and it's still running great to this day. If you need a tire patched I suppose that is within Leo's skill set. Thank god the Chevy dealer had "real" ASE Certified mechanics!

Had a nail in my tire after a wonderful week of vacation during Thanksgiving break. The timing couldn’t be worse! I needed to drive back to Denver and he opened the shop 20 minutes early to help fix my tire. Wonderful customer service!

Great service and very reasonable prices. We were visiting Custer from West Virginia and had an issue with our tt tire. Not only did they replace it the morning we called, they also were able to get another tire delivered and installed the next day. We would highly recommend!Service: Tires

Great place, highly recommend stopping for any tire needs! We are from Wisconsin and stay in custer frequently, We had someone run into our trailer and bent the wheel and destroyed the tire. We stopped to see if he could help us out. He didn't have the wheel in stock but ordered one right away. Told me to stop back the next day and he'd have it for me. The next day I stopped back and it was ready to go. And he was cheaper than the 2 bigger place in rapid city. He was very polite and friendly. I will definitely return for any future tire issues.

Had a tire going flat. Removed tire at home & took it in for repair. Whoever was on staff said they could not fix it that day, as they had to pick their kid up at school, so said he would get to it the first thing the next day. When I called the next morning to pick it up, he said he had not gotten to it yet, but would shortly. Went to pick up the tire that afternoon, he said there was nothing wrong it just needed air. Paid for the tire repair, took the tire home and put it on the car. The tire was still flat and it appeared that air had not even been added. Took it to another place. They told me there was a nail in it.

Excellent service... Came from 5 hrs away to explore the black hills and tires had belts showing... Not good. Leo had us in and out the next day and saved my vacation! We had a flat tire that we replaced with our spare. We brought it to Leo’s where we were instantly greeted by a friendly young man. He instantly stopped what he was doing to help us find our leak, patch it, and place it back on the vehicle for us. The whole time he conversed with us while letting us watch him work.I would highly recommend this small town shop for any quick and professionally done tire repairs. I brakes going out on my truck. No one in town had any time. I stopped in and he told me if I cold drop truck off he would look at it.I did. He found out just how bad a situation I was in.The best part is he had it fixed and I picked it up mid day the next day.IlHe was honest. Reliable and explained everything about why my breaks were in such bad shape.I had an emergency on the road and they did not know what they were doing.It is scary feeling not have your brakes workPlease use their service, top rate.A blessing to me. 10/10 would recommend this business without hesitation!!! We unfortunately got in the situation where our rental car was not treated well prior, causing one tire to wear down to the steel. Leo’s Auto was the ONLY place in town that would get us in that day, our next best option was two weeks out. They were so kind and did an amazing job changing our tire for us. Plus, Maggie the puppy is SO adorable, defiantly give her some love when you visit! When we visit Custer again, this place has our business for sure!Service: Tires

We were visiting all the sites around Custer S. D when our motor home started making a lot of road noise. Troy diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes as a ply separation on a front tire. He ordered the correct tires After they arrived the next day it only took him an hour to balance and install them while we waited in the motor home. A very pleasant experience when your 1300 miles from home. THANK YOU TROY!!!

Got a flat on my travel trailer, took it here and they repaired it and had me on my way in about 15 minutes. Like all the other reviews say, great family run business that’s honest and has fair prices. They could have easily told me my tire was not repairable and sold me a new tire but they didn’t! If you have tire or mechanical issues and are in the area this is the place you need to go!

On 8/28/2018 two thousand miles from home with travel trailer in need of anticipated oil change and unanticipated check engine light Chose Leo's based on reviews. They were right on target- Troy was very friendly, knowledgeable and honest. He had a garage full of scheduled work, but was already helping two guys from Iowa with a serious blow-out that damaged their trailer. He promised to take care of me if I gave him the time. We walked into town for great breakfast at 10AM and back in the car at 2PM all taken care of and educated for less than my dealer would have charged. Thanks guys!!

We showed up just before closing with a flat tire that needed to be patched. They were easy to work with and stayed late to make sure the tire was fixed. We had already removed the tire to bring it in so we were expecting to take it back to our camp site and put the repaired tire back on however they insisted on helping put the repaired tire back on and helping us put the spare back up under the truck. They truly went above and beyond by staying late and taking care of everything to get us back on our way.

My water pump went out while we were on vacation. It happened while we were going through Custer so we stopped at Leo's. I told him we were a half hour away from our hotel and about 14 hours from home. He said it was no problem and he could have it done in a few hours. We dropped off the car at 2:00 pm and were back on the road by 5:30 pm and most of that time was them driving a couple hours away to get the part. The dude seriously saved our vacation. I could not be more appreciative of the guys at this shop. I was here with my trailer traveling the country when I went to leave for my next destination and realized a nail was in my truck's back tire. The two shops in the area both told me they couldn't get to me that day but when I showed up at Leo's in a panic, they helped me right away. Got the nail out, tire patched, and back on the road in less than 15 minutes. They even checked the pressure on all my other tires and gave me a fill. They really saved my tail and I could not be more grateful, especially when the other shop turned me away. If you need service and have to choose, PICK THIS SHOP!!Service: Tires

Had a slow air leak detected by my RV TPMS on the way to Custer SD. Put the spare on and checked into my campground. The owner recommended Leo's Auto Repair so I brought the tire in the next morning. Met Leo who asked me to leave it till mid morning so he could check it out. When I arrived Leo had the tire waiting on me with a arrow pointing to where the pin hole leak in the aluminum rim was. He offered to order me a replacement rim but I was not going to be in the area long enough to get it shipped in. Leo would not accept payment for identifying my issue and was very professional. I appreciate that in a business.

If I could give 0 stars I would. My car broke down in SD on vacation, they told me it was my power steering pump. They replaced my pump, called to say it was ready. Went to pick it up after we paid they said I was missing a bracket on my pump. I specifically asked if it would cause issues or problems. They said it would be fine just have it fixed when I went home. Went to the hotel to pack up and there was a small puddle under my car. I took it back they said they didn't see a leak but would check it out. They said they power washed it and checked it said it was perfectly fine. Once again I left with my car, another puddle, took it back again. They said it was residuals from the original pump going out, I asked if they were sure because it didn't sound right to me. I asked if they would be comfortable sending their wife and kids in that car and was assured it wasn't my PS pump and if I had problems it wouldn't be that. Driving home I stopped over in Mitchell, big puddle under my car in the morning. Mechanic there Said the PS pump was leaking!!!!! I and my friend another female had dealt with and talked to the men at Leo's. At this point my husband who couldn't join us on vacation called Leo's, which was a complete disaster. They told him they told me it would fail and wouldn't make it home because I was missing my bracket. NEVER EVER DID THEY SAY THAT. I NEVER WOULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO MY CAR WITH 5 KIDS IF I WASN'T ASSURED OVER AND OVER AGAIN IT WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION.I was stranded with 5 kids and just needed my car fixed so we could get home safely. Not lies to my face then lies to my husband. The gentleman my husband spoke to told him he told me, his dad told me and the mechanic told me. NEVER, my friend was with me when I was there and heard every conversation I had with them. Never did they say it would fail or I never would have left that town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are tourists and had a flat tire.. Leo inspected the tire and spent over a half an hour on it. He wasn't able to find any damage and reinflated it for us at no charge!! This is the type of small town service the rest of the country desperately could use

Stopped here today because of previous reviews, what a mistake. I had a tire going soft on my Jeep Cherokee so I put the spare on and stopped a Leo's to see if he could look at it and possibly fix it. The son told me he didn't have time today. When I asked him if there was another garage in town he told me where the Chamber of Commerce was go ask them.Not a real smart way to run a business. Word of mouth goes a long way in your own home town when you act like that. Know who you are talking to.Don't waste your time stopping at Leo's if you are from out of town.In Response to your response, I did not give you a attitude and who ever heard of a business just popping up to service tires during the summer season.Yes I found another business in Custer that was more then happy to help me and showed me the problem and from my previous Automotive repair and Auto Parts sales in the past I knew he was accurate in stating the tire could not be repaired. Guess what they got the business and the sale of a new tire. Thank you very much. Good Luck with your business in the future.By the way I notice you were helping someone who wasn't there when I stopped on the far side of your parking lot when I went back by.

I was traveling through the state and had a tire blow out. Leo's was recommended to me by another shop in town that couldn't help me. Thankfully they got me set up on a used spare for cheap, and made me feel like I was hanging out with an old friend. Very friendly guy.
