Ok so, this place has gone through lots of changes over the years, but the latest menu change has finally compelled me to leave a review. The breakfast is fresh and innovative. Four of us ordered 4 different things and we were all thrilled. Pork Belly Benedict, Portobello Benedict, Scramble with veggies and potatoes, and a Breakfast Bowl. We all agreed everything was delicious enough to order over and over (although that may be difficult considering all the good looking options on the menu)A great new breakfast menu in Custer!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free with no problem!

This seems like a cute place. Maybe I caught them on an off day. It was a Tuesday morning at 7am and the girl working was chaotic and didn't seem to know what she was doing. After waiting 10 minutes just to place an order I only got coffee as I didn't have time for the food. There were only a few pastries, I was hoping to try a cinnamon roll but they didn't have any. I ordered a blended drink and there were a lot of ice chunks in it. Also nothing to add to the drink like whip cream or caramel on the top. She also stopped making my coffee to make and serve coffee to a regular who walked in. Again, maybe an off day or maybe I'm used to a faster paced lifestyle than this. All of that would have been fine if the coffee was any good.

The strawberry-banana smoothie was great and I got it immediately. However we watched the whole crew stand around, talk, play on their phones, eat, and make themselves smoothies, and had to wait for a latte for over 10 minutes watching them do this. This in turn just ruined the experience as the staff was rude as well. Rolling their eyes at thank you's and openly talking badly about customers. Making this a very bad experience for myself and my husband. Food overall was great and when we did get the latte it was great. So I'd pick somewhere else if you want a friendly staff experience and environment. But if you just want good food I'd suggest it.

I stopped at Calamity Jane on my way out of town for a cappuccino and a quick breakfast. Prices were reasonable and their hot menu was extensive. I was not very hungry because of the large dinner the night before, but I would have liked to try some of the pastries.I got the Avocado Toast with scrambled eggs and a cappuccino with skim milk. The cappuccino was VERY foamy, just the way that I like. I did not try any other breakfast places in Custer but I can confirm that this one is top notch. This town surprised me at every turn, which includes this delicious breakfast at a reasonable price. I wish I had grabbed a T-Shirt

Delicious food and coffee drinks! I wish the service could match. We came here a couple times during our stay and unfortunately the service did lack (thankfully we ordered to go). Every time we watched staff stand around and talk and many times had undeserved attitudes towards us (rolling eyes, glaring stares, huffing & puffing and even talking about others. It was shockingly unprofessional. We enjoyed the fresh bagels with incredible homemade whipped cream frappes and Avocado toast so much we endured, just want to make sure that we forewarn you that service is a let down. If you only care about great food, then I recommend.

Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday, almost by accident. The frontage suggests more of a place to drink than eat, and hides the fact that the burgers here (I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with bison pattie) counts as amongst the best I've ever tasted . Staff were attentive and friendly, and the price more than reasonable. Definitely recommended.

The staff here is amazing! They're were so busy at 1 pm on a cooler than normal June day, but they completely kept up! The food was delicious (the garlic cheese curds are AMAZING), and the coffee is delicious! Definitely stop here.Kid-friendliness: Kid menu and smoothies for the kiddos!

Cute themed coffee shop with good coffee located on the main stretch of Custer downtown. Seems like a chill place to hang out. Food was underwhelming. Not bad, just didn't knock our socks off. We got the Chicken Philly Sandwich and the Chicken Tenders. We liked the potato salad side.Parking: Street parking on both of the sides of the street.

New owner! New chef! New menu! Calamity Jane’s may look the same but the food selection and quality has been transformed. The burgers are really good and the smoked chicken wings are the best. Get the wings with the dry rub and spicy chilli sauce on the side. Amazing!

Being not from here, I didn't imagine I'd have a favorite coffee shop in the Black Hills, but having had cause to be here a couple times recently, and of course have plenty of coffee, Calamity Jane's gets the title. Consistently good coffee and (equally important) consistently upbeat, efficient, friendly service in an atmosphere that fits the area without being too much.

Such efficiency and delicious options. Coffee and latte and cappuccino and espresso! Delicious bagels, many flavors of cream cheese. Fastest food service ever. Check out the wine and merch!

The food is excellent! You would think that a coffee shop doesn’t have good food but this was amazing. The burgers were delicious and the chicken strips were perfectly cooked. The sweet potato fries were the best. They were cooked so good and just the right amount of everything.

Ridiculously delicious coffee and a cute old western themed store friendly staff and kid friendly as well centrally located walking distance for just about everything in downtown Custer. Fast service clean environment we went there twice while we were in town would definitely go back again.

Best coffee we had in South Dakota! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Had a Huckleberry latte and then got to try a huckleberry lavender latte. Both were incredible. Not syrupy sweet but perfectly balanced. Don't skip the breakfast sandwiches. Fresh and made to order. Great way to start the day!

I fell in love with this place our first morning in Custer. We proceeded to go there every morning of our trip and have since been back as a stay over on longer roadtrips. Their coffee is amazing - one of my favorites. Their breakfast burrito is perfect and a great start to a long day of hiking. The service is always fast and everyone is so nice. I will never not go here when we're in the area.

Amazing! This place has free WIFi!!! For some reason businesses in Custer are surprisingly stingy with their internets (I guess it's okay to charge through the nose though)Great coffee, great fries, wonderful bison burger, and costs less than the ripoff joints with no internet.

Stumbled on this place while looking for a quick bite to eat and was not disappointed! The batista (gal with dark hair and bangs) made some solid recommendations (bacon cheese burgers + pickle chips was a win) and was super friendly. Highly recommend the Italian sodas. I also got a latte with toasted marshmallow flavor for the road and she was nice enough to actually toast some Marshmallows on top! It was a really good latte as well.
