Great location. They have many window seats with views of the creek. We saw fish jumping in the water. The BBQ was decent. We had a pulled pork sandwich and half order of ribs. My only knock on the food was that they had a new menu, so they didn't have a lot of the items from the reviews like the cheese curds and macaroni and cheese, which were both things we were looking forward to. We got the mac and cheese bites instead but they were just fried Kraft mac and cheese noodles. Their sweet tea was not as sweet as you find in the South but still good. I give the place five stars because of the location and the ribs, they were fall off the bones like the other reviews said.

Food and atmosphere was great! We were visiting from out of town and wanted some American food! We got the breaded steak bites appetizer (not sure of the menu name for it), but it was delicious and served with BBQ sauce. They had a great menu, lots to choose from, and the bar tenders were friendly and fast with their service!

Yummy restaurant with South Dakota sized portions. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly! All of our food was served fresh, hot, and delicious. The garlic bread cheese curds alone are worth coming in for for. I also ordered the jalapeno popper burger which was yummy!! The sides were huge as well as the walley & crab cakes were large sized😊. The view is pretty, right on the water and docks.

Great place! Was a tad under staffed, but this is post Covid America so nobody apparently works anymore. Waitresses kept apologizing for how long it was taking. Pheasant season is in, so it was packed! We didn't mind, and totally understood. BBQ was great as well as the kicking beans! They also have a gift shop and bar attached. Price was great!!! Super affordable

Nice view of the marina. Good tap beer selection for a small town. Baked beans were excellent! Pulled pork was okay, quite fatty. Server friendly and attentive. I'd come back.

Off the beaten path but worth it. Our waitress was great. Food was good! Patio area looked nice. Great views out the big windows in the dining room. I had the brisket burger and smoked mac and cheese. It was good!

Walked in around 1pm on a Thursday and the lights were all off as if they were closed. I had time to go to the bathroom and wait another 5 minutes at the bar waiting for someone to take our order. We heard people in the kitchen and assuming they would’ve at least heard me go into the restroom. Finally after deciding to leave someone was walking out as we were. Was really in the mood for some BBQ but I guess we’ll have to settle on Mi Pueblo mexican!

Stopped on the way home from the Black Hills, and really glad that we did. At first we thought the map lead us astray because it doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside. But the inside? WOW! It's like a backyard/courtyard oasis. Really great atmosphere and the food was delicious. We are trying to find a way to visit again on our summer trip to Yellowstone this year.

Tonight prime rib seafood buffet starts at 5 pm. We went at lunch time the waitress was so nice her suggestion was ribs and chicken. Nice atmosphere, waterfront views. Locals say New owners it Was the busted nut, now the smoking mule. New owners from locals-they are loving this place. Only downfall They need white claw added to the bar menu for us that are watching carbs.

We were just driving through town and a road trip and this place looked like the best bet. The food was amazing (we got the shrimp po boy and a Reuben) and the tap list was pretty good too (radler and cider on tap along with beer). Also right on the river so a great view, patio is pet friendly!

We happened upon this gem on our way to the Sturgis Mustang Rally and boy are we glad we stopped! Amazing food, wonderful hospitality and a true oasis along I-90. Wonderful!

We had been looking forward to eating here since first reading about it in 605 Magazine - and it was worth the wait! Delicious food and great service. The mac and cheese was a big hit with everyone! Looking forward to going back to try the bloody Mary. Very recommended!

This place was exactly what we needed! Bartender was awesome! Food was fantastic!! Although we live 8hrs away, we will definitely make this place a must stop on our next journey from Iowa city to the Black Hills. LOVE THIS PLACE!!Parking: Dirt parking lot.

We had a great server on both of our visits. They were prompt and courteous and even had a personality! I had a Cuban sandwich which was delicious, others had the brisket burger and loved it as well. Great job Smoking Mule!

First time eating here. Fun spot. Small cozy bar area. Yummy house salad with chicken strips added made for a delicious supper. Pineapple ale was an added bonus. Friendly waitress!!!New Year’s Eve 2021....tried a peach pie IPA....nice!!! Service was slow, never got salads, and one food order wasn’t put in, but food we got was good.

It felt a little understaffed from the onset of the experience. While the wait wasn't long to be seated, and our hostess/server was delightful, it felt like we were riding the edge of chaos. It never got crazy and the employees never lost their poise, it never lose that feeling. The food was excellent. The smoked chicken was juicy and flavorful. The shrimp po boy was a hand/mouthful. I was totally satisfied.

The food here was super good! We had an appetizer of shishito peppers (unbreaded) in a sweetish balsamic sauce served with a horseradish ranch dipping sauce. My husband said the Reuben was one of the best he's ever had, and my Creole shrimp was delicious. The southern-style potato salad was really good too. Our server was really friendly and attentive. There is a large smoker out back and I know they serve ribs and brisket and it's probably why the corned beef on the Reuben was so tender. I would definitely eat here again.

Popper burger was great! Parmesan truffle fries were disappointing. Pickle fries were good even though I didn't order them. Fried mushrooms were great. Mac and cheese bites were good. Was definitely worth the stop and we would go back if we drove through that way again.

Loved the atmosphere here! My boyfriend and I stopped here on our cross country road trip and we’re invited right in by the locals. We enjoyed some delicious muscles and 50 cent wings (went on a Sunday) The place is very lively and exciting! Fun people and friendly staff.
