This place has really clean rooms that smell great. The pool and hot tub, how ever we horrible. Pool is freezing & it hasn't bn cleaned or vacuum since god knows when. The Hot tub was wonderfully hot. No jets for massaging, which also hasn't been vacuumed or clean. All around the hot tub was rotting boards, which is a health code Violation if u ask me. The sauna was out of use because it was screwed shut! Our my maps gave me a totally different lower price then it was. I never leave reviews, however after a along day on the road , we were never more disappointed with the pool area being so gross😝 !

Fridge in the room was annoying and loud as hell - room is dated and musty smell but bed is comfortable and clean. Bathroom is old and sketchy. AC is super loud and old. Walls are paper thin. TV only has 18channels. Good for a quick night stop over. If you book directly with Super 8 on their website or by calling they will overcharge and claim they only have one room available. Cheaper to book online.

Nice stop for a night on our way to Deadwood from the twin cities. Hotel room was clean, friendly staff, and nice enough options for a continental breakfast. Wish it was more walking distance to restaurants after a long day in the car, but everything was within 5 min driving distance, so no biggy. Only bummer about the hotel we experienced was the pool being very cold. Would stay again.

If you’re on a budget, this is a fine place to stay! The rooms themselves are very nice and clean, from the spotless bed sheets to the bathroom toilet. However, there were a few small stains on the carpet, but nothing major. It’s nice because they’re pet friendly, so you don’t need to worry about leaving the pup home alone. Another small thing is that the bathroom is a little awkward to navigate since it’s so small and the door opens into it. The tub drain was also clogged when we first showered, but a quick call to the front desk and they sent someone to fix it immediately. The fridge and microwave were perfect for anything you may need them for. The freezer part of very small though, but was able to fit bags of 24 walleye fillets! The amenities were all great too: pool, hot tub, and breakfast room. Overall, it was a great stay, just some slight improvements to be good enough for a 5 star rating from me!

The hotel in general was not horrible. What makes this a one star is the fact that there was no lock on the door of the room. The privacy chain had been taken off and the door lock did not work.We were told there were no other rooms as they were sold out. It was too late to get a room elsewhere so we propped a chair against the door.Totally unacceptable!

Our expectations were low after reading the reviews, but limited options when traveling with a dog. We were pleasantly surprised and overall pleased with our stay. Bed, sheets, main room clean, bathroom was clean on surface, but could use an update and deep cleaning. Breakfast not exciting but coffee is great! All staff were very friendly and personable. Give them a chance!

We were recently traveling with our dog and needed a place for one Friday night. Even though the cost was a little high at $109 with tax, many other local chains were priced even higher. But thecreviws were good. I don't normally stay at Super 8 hotels and was thinking it would be a lower quality experience but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was nice and clean, the beds and pillows were very comfortable (we got the best sleep of our whole 10 day trip here) and staff was nice.We felt safe at the location, and had a lot of stuff in our car, on top rack and a back rack and nothing was messed with. We did not go down for breakfast o cant comment on that.Note, motel is on a hill and one side of the motel has river views but we were on the other side but view would be nice. We also noticed picnic tables on the grounds facing the river which was an amenity. Next door is a convenience store which was nice for gasing up and grabbing snacks before we left back on our journey. Would stay their again.

Great place to stop on the way out to Deadwood.The room was clean, the carpet was a little stained but softer than most hotels I’ve ever been in. There was also a generously sized fridge and microwave. Staff was quick to check us in and out and the breakfast selection was good. Bagels, bread, cereal, and biscuits and gravy. The French Vanilla cappuccino was out but I was down there at the tail end of the offering time. And they also had a couple of flavored creamers for coffee.The gas station at the bottom of the hill was a bonus. All in all, a good and comfortable place with a great view of the river.

I was a little worried with some of the reviews. We also usually stay in higher rated hotels but everything was booked full a week ahead of time. I must say that I am very impressed and would definitely come back. The pool and hot tub were great. Pool is bigger than lots of high class hotels and the basketball hoop and spraying buckets were a bonus. The rooms were cleaner than some good hotels we stayed at. Breakfast was decent. I would definitely recommend they get a source of protein on their menu. There is nothing at all for low carb or gluten free eaters.

The nightly rate was reasonable, but the room I was in could have been a lot cleaner. The carpet was in need of a shampoo, the bathroom floor had muddy footprints left by a previous guest. The breakfast choices were fairly limited.

The Room was nice & the Bathroom was clean. Nice bright lights for putting on makeup. It also had Fridge with a Freezer.I discovered a new flavor of Coffee which was great! It was Ground Hills Bros, which I'm aware of, but the Flavor was SIERRA... Delicious! Tried to find it at the store...but no luck.The room also had a Front & Back Door, and Motel was very quiet.They had a nice "Do it yourself" breakfast room with a Waffle Iron, Yogurt & Juice Dispensers.The Only complaint I had was the Air Conditioner. It was very cold & I couldn't figure out how to adjust the Temp, so I finally just turned it off. To be Fair, maybe I just couldn't find the right control to use. So it might not have been their fault.IBB!

I stayed with my family for a weekend. Room was clean. Breakfast was good and coffee is great!All staff were very friendly and accomodating, special thanks to Bobby. The location is very convenient to Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, nice view! Super good for pets with lots of grassy areas! We had to try four rooms before we got a clean one tho. Apparently the maids missed a few rooms! Breakfast was a little skimpy but adequate. Nice people tho and helpful.

Lack of cleaning. The hallways need to be vacuumed. The rooms need to be deep cleaned. Housekeeping doesn’t do a thorough job. A used bloody towel was left hanging on our door. The pool area was okay, but needed some work. The trim board around the hot tub was growing mold and rotting from years of water being splashed on it. Great breakfast tho

Theft and Unclean! The room was dirty, never cleaned. A few details include: mascara on pillow and sheets. dried urine on the toilet seat.black short curly hairs in shower, bathroom floor and toilet. No workers in site or answering phone to change rooms. Arrival at 10PM and had to wait at the front desk for 30 minutes before anyone came. Items were STOLEN from my locked room. Housekeeping also opened our locked door without knocking prior to checkout time. I had made an online Hotwire reservation for a 5star hotel and we got this terrible hotel! The "food" in the morning was nasty burnt gravy crust with flies and no coffee. no employees in sight.I wanted to report the stolen items from my room, but the hotel manager was never on duty and was unavailable in person, also never returned phone call to report items stolen from my locked hotel room, The regional manager also didn't care and said "there is nothing I can do" and told me to "call the police", so I did. The police made a police report documenting the theft and said that there is a lot of theft at this hotel. This was a terrible experience at a nasty unclean hotel with no staff working, theft, terrible manager and regional manager. Dirty in the hallways, lobby, breakfast area, hotel room and even parking lot. No lighting in the parking lot. The furniture was broken, trashed and stained throughout the common areas and room. The carpet had not been vacuumed and a lot of dog hair, stains and garbage in the hallways and stairways. We did not swim the pool The water looked thick and cloudy. Be aware and beware of Super 8 in Chamberlin, SD!!!!

The front desk clerk is super nice (Lisa) and welcoming - this showed promise! The room smells okay but the duvet, blankets and sheets have stains and food on them. The floors have an incredible amount of stains that are actually sticky. The tub does not drain and the stains on the shower curtain indicate it has not drained correctly in some time. It's too late to change hotels, but if I had a do over, I would not do this. (I'd post photos, but there are no options.

This Super 8 is in a great location, right on a hill next to the Missouri River. Next to it is a gas station, which is very convenient for people who drive to refuel their cars. There is a swimming pool in the hotel. Although the swimming pool is not big, it is divided into two pools, cold and warm. I soaked in the warm pool and my body was very relaxed. The hotel rooms are divided into upper part and lower part. My suggestion is that everyone try to choose the upper part of the room to stay in the future.
