I have shopped here out of necessity for 4+years. Prices are extremely high which I could understand being in a small community, but anything that is “fresh” such as produce, meat, etc is always close to expiring and prices are still very high even when they sell expired food at a “discount.” I want to buy local but unfortunately, I get so frustrated each time I shop here. My last trip was on 7/14 when I bought a Boston butt pork roast. I was in a hurry- didn’t check the date. 2days later went to cook it, and saw the sell by date on Sunshine’s label was 7/12 & the actual use by date on the packaging was 7/13 (this meat was not discounted & had already expired when I bought it in the store). I opened the package and the meat definitely smelt spoiled . $20.23 down the drain.. Beyond frustrated yet again. I’ve had this happen with pork ribs before. The stars are for the employees because they are AWESOME, always friendly, and always helpful.

Shame on you! Over $8 for bologna? Over $5 for both oreos and olive loaf! Nearly $5 for milk? Not to mention the place smells so bad I gag when I'm in there. I go there as little as absolutely possible.

It's nice to have a hometown store but the only problem that I have is the smell. It smells so bad of sewer that it is gut renching. I will make the 30 minute drive to Sioux Falls to go to a store that doesn't smell so bad.

I travel the country full time and never have I ever been inside a grocery store that the prices are so high. Some things were almost comically high. We drink mia juice and at it’s extreme highest I’ve paid 6 dollars normally I pay about 3 it’s was 8.99 here. It wasn’t just that item but every item. The store is clean and the staff is friendly but extremely unaffordable expect to pay 2 to 3x your average grocery store bare minimum. I understand being in a small town but atleast be a little reasonable.

Good meat but like all small towns with one grocery. Prices a bit high. But not unreasonable for small town grocery store to make it. Very pleasant butcher. He cuts a damn good steak or any cut of meat. Trims it excellent. The way u want it. Kelly keep up the great work.

This sunshine unlike most modern day is highly community based. That's one of the best aspects among many. The staffing! Is so freindly. You walk in an feel so welcomed. Smiles all around! The food selection is great! Compared to other small towns. The store is ran astonishingly. Sadly everytime I go to get avacados they are expired, or going bad fairly soon. For me being a power lifter. Macros are a major thing for me, so that's the only set back. Which easily corrected.

Great local grocery store the staff is incredibly nice and they have some folks to take the groceries out to your car tip the kids to take the groceries to your car please. They deserve it most of them are in high school trying to make extra money if there’s anything you ever need from the meat department all you have to do is ask and I guarantee they’ll find a way to make it happen or at least point you in the right direction.

Clean and well lit store. Lots of variety. Our favorite place to grocery shop. It can be a little on the pricey side. Friendly help and nice location. Produce seems to be fairly fresh and last long after u buy it.

Lol. Great service. I read that first review, and I can't help myself. I really only post if a company deserves good credit, and this store does. The first reviewer reminds me of stuck up customer I have ever seen in my restaraunt. "WAAAAA. Customer service.......WAAA.". I am sorry your too lazy to get up and check yourself, but hanging up on you was GOOD customer service. You know, taking care of good customers!!!! I wouldn't go to a Starbucks either, cause they don't questions their employees service, they kick out brats like you.

My mom is battling cancer and she moved into a nursing home about a month before Thanksgiving. My family lives about 5 hours from her and wanted to spend Thanksgiving with her but I was worried about having to buy everything E.V.E.R.Y. Thing to make our thanksgiving meal since we had emptied her fridge and cupboards of all food when she went into the home. Mom suggested we buy a full meal from Sunshine foods and I agreed but I have to admit I was really worried...we were trusting our Thanksgiving meal in your hands! There were 6 of us and we are big adults...would there be enough? Would it be good? Would it stand up to our standards and memories? Would we have enough for leftovers later?We picked it up as we drove through Canton on Wednesday. Put it in the fridge and on Thursday I put it in the oven for an hour. Set the table and BAM! I was done!! Brilliant!! There was plenty of food, especially the turkey and potatoes. We had turkey sandwiches Thursday night. I was able to make soup with leftovers the next day AND I was able to make a full turkey tetrazzini casserole the next week!!I will totally do this again! Best decision we could have made. Thank you Sunshine for making our thanksgiving so easy and wonderful!
