Awesome sales and promotions--I saved over $15 on gas yesterday thanks to Hy-Vee Fuel Saver Rewards. Also, fantastic fresh meats and produce! Some items are pretty pricey, but if you watch the sales patterns, this store can save you a ton on your monthly grocery bills.

The prices just seem to keep going up. I was looking at Hy Vees revenue since 2021 when COVID/inflation occurred, however their profits have been up 2 billion/year since the pandemic. Leading me to believe the company is literally taking advantage of the situation to make money. I know this probably doesn't go to say that my location is responsible, however as a company, it shouldn't go unnoticed.

Worst store ever. I have complained in store and to corporate multiple times about the same issues over and over, clearly they don't care. Avoid this dump if you have any self respect is my advice. Wish there was a negative stars option...

Most of the time Hy-Vee trips don't happen often unless I am already in a town that has one. Lately I have been make ing the trip just for a stop at Hy-Vee. It's in my opinion the best super market in my area. It reminds me of Wegmans 15 years ago and that's not a bad thing. I am a big fan of the bakery and the meat department,ok I haven't found a part of the store I don't like. Ya get what ya pay for.

Good and fresh food, great soft drinks. Only complaint is everything is more then normal price at any other gas station.

Very nice store with great selections. The staff is helpful and kind but their automated check-out lanes lock up fairly often (IMO) with unrecognized scans which in turn light a red lamp meant to attract staff. The response from staff has been super slow for me. And, I waited behind a person last week for literally four minutes till someone showed. No apologies, no managers nearby alerting help is needed. Not obnoxious but seemingly uncaring. Hyvee wants people to do their own checkout to save $?, OK, but pay one person to be hyper attentive when help is needed. I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated.

Great sales via send out coupons, also in store. Checker was happy to help ring and bag items even though it was nearly closing time.

Store sucks. They have been out of fudge cycles for a month ask Person stocking ice cream yesterday and he went back and looked. Came back after short time and said place was such a mess back in freezer that there might be some but could not find any.

The Hyvee in Brookings is clean and usually has the sale prices. With the way everything has been with Covid they are trying their best to keep up. I feel they were one of the first stores in the area to set up to make things more sanitized and safe. They clean the regular and self check outs after every person to help keep is sanitized. Their produce is usually really great too. They do require masks and have someone inside handing them out of needed. They suggest following arrows to go up and down the aisles which can be a bit of a pain since I don't always need something from every aisle. They are always stocking shelves when I am there so today for instance you couldn't really move around by the frozen and yogurt milk section easily. Sale items can go fast. There were a few things on my list they didn't have and it didn't seem like they had a big area for it. So, if you want something on a 2 day sale or even for the week that may be popular, you should go the morning it starts. I have had both friendly staff and not so friendly. The store is located at the end of a strip mall with a bunch of businesses and the parking lot gets very congested and needs some work done to it. There is also a Hyvee gas station located in the parking lot where the store and strip mall is.

Really getting discouraged of food quality first I had milk that had a month till expiration date then today go to use pizza crust also mold filled and we just bought these pizza crusts this Sunday. Really proceed with caution with what you get that's for sure definitely a waste of money when one can't even get decent foods when in a pinch as I didn't have time to make my own crusts...

I love this place. It is very neat and organized and the prices are very good. My favorite area in this store is the fresh produce section and then after that, the fresh meat counter.

Today my wife was at the store with quite a few items. The purchase was going to be tax exempt so she needed to use a checker.There was a bagger (with multi-color hair) that left when my wife got to the checker. It was obvious the bagger did not want to help.My wife was unloading her cart and the checker (Kalya) told her to start bagging. She was rude very unprofessional.Whenever we visit and use a checked line I have to bag my own. I really feel this is part of the function of a checked line.Customer service should be a top requirement for the people running the checkout lanes.

This place overcharges on literally EVERYTHING. A box of allergy medicine here: $16. At Walmart: $5. And for the love of God never order from the chinese food place. I've found full egg shells in the food as well as gotten food poisoning from undercooked chicken. The only thing worthwhile is the bakery. Save yourself the money and hassle and just go to Walmart.

Just lost for words since June of 2022 I've gone into the gas store in Brooking and I always have 2 or 3 items and each time the cashier completes the transaction and walks away not one time did a employee offer a bag were customers paying their wages pathetic wages and to be rude not to offer is is unprofessional. Today 4/24/2023 I walk in and there was the older man and young heavy set guy the cashier com0leteed my order and walked away and I said to him is it policy to be rude and not offer customer a bag and the cashier was saying it's not his problem the customer needs to ask and it's not the casheir problem absolutely unprofessional. Just had Knee replacement on 4/20/2023 and federal law states that store need to assist with people with disabilities and and that was not done at and I will be filing with the a complaint with Americans with Disabilities Act

I know this is not HyVee fault but I was in Walmart and people were so nice and the people in hyvee were quite rude no please thank you just push there way through said Merry Christmas to people and get dirty looks but just kept smiling

i go here way too often. Loveeeee the interesting candy selection and a good amount of variety of all items without being overwhelming. Not as many "international" selections as say walmart but still can find good stuff! The deli and meat selection/quality in general is awesome. And of course the produce is very good. Love the self checkouts! I wish the people working HyChi/behind the counter at Market Grill had a bit more customer service though. Also the lids never actually fit/clasp in place on the hychi containers. The pharmacy can be slow/have a long line for how many people it has behind the counter working. I'm sure brother's closing upped their workload, though. Lastly, the new POS/reciept system makes the discounts appear in a non-obvious way and the whole reciept is longer with smaller texts. Kinda annoying. Love hyvee plus perks and fuel saver. Good selection of wine and beers as well. Due to the overall inflation and raising prices, walmarts prices are comparable to hyvees now. LOVE THAT THEY ARE OPEN TILL 11!!! The bathrooms are located behind the deli, kinda weird and it feels like a place customer wouldn't be allowed but just a helpful tip lol. Man, I had a lot to say about HyVee but like i said I go there way too often.

While in Brookings on Tuesday I called the store to see if they had any Fricks hams. Josh said no, but he could possibly get some. I told him I’d check back. To my surprise a short time later he called ME to say he would have some in the store on Friday. Today he called again to let me know my ham was in! What great service!! I’m not fond of the Hy-Vee near me in SF so I might shop in Brookings for my groceries on Tuesdays when I am there. I’ll support stores with that kind of service every chance I get!

We went in specifically for some fruit and yogurt. We got the fruit we needed, but not the large tub of yogurt as they were out of stock.This normally would be cause for a lower star rating, but this location consistently is in stock of all we need, and so am giving the benefit of the doubt.We enjoy this location!

Update on review: we're moving our prescriptions from HyVee to another pharmacy. We've had enough of slow service, autofill not working, and being told it's our fault the texting service hasn't been working properly. HyVee needs to update the pharmacy area, like replacing broken chairs and increasing space for waiting.Just another grocery store that doesn't have enough employees, so you have to do the self-checkout if you want to get out there in a timely manner.
