I wish to share this review. I called from Virginia to the 1105 N. Splitrock Blvd, Brandon, SD. I was greeted by Katy, the Lobby Manager. I explained my long story of a family traveling and I needed to secure them a room for the night. Katy was so kind understanding and one of the most helpful managers I have talked with. Thank you Katy for helping me and the traveling family.

Oldie but a Goldie. The room was very clean despite being older. I did not notice any funny odors. Check in was smooth and the woman working the front desk was able to accommodate my request for a ground floor room as I was staying with a canine. I did not notice any excessive noise from other rooms or the highway. The bed was firm in my opinion but I love an extra plush mattress. I still got a good night's rest and didn't wake with any unusual aches. Easy access right off of I-90. Great breakfast with eggs, sausage and a make your own giant fluffy waffle station. Also the usual stuff available like cereal and toast. Good coffee. Woman attending to the breakfast was keeping the tables and counters clean and tidy. Shower was basic but had good water pressure and nice soft water. I needed to stay an hour past check out and the front desk had no issue with that. I will stay here again should the need arise.

We just stayed one night while traveling through. They have a pool and hot tub which is nice. 🙂 And they had a nice variety for breakfast.

The mattress was very comfortable and it was a quiet place.. The front desk quoted 2 different prices the 2 times we called from the road. The front desk attendant was friendly, but said the breakfast wasn't worth getting up for, so I can't rate the food. The room had a bad small and shabby furniture from the 90s. Mold in the shower. Terrible lighting at the sink for applying make-up. My white socks were filthy from a short walk so I kept my shoes on after that. Cleanliness is important to me. I think this is just years of grime. I'm sure they clean and change the sheets.

Can't go without saying this hotel has the MOST comfortable beds of all hotels I've been in! Slept like a baby 😴We use this place to hang out with friends. There is a modest Hot tub and the pool is decent. The lights over the hot tub are quite dim, on a timer and flickered a lot, so it would've been super creepy if I had been alone. But we bought in floats life jackets and used the breakfast room for a pizza break.Staff was accommodating and overall our stay was great! On the downside the place seems a little old and could use touch-ups here and there. Most of all there is no elevator so be prepared to take the stairs unless you get first floor. We will stay here again!

We arrive in town late. We were tired and just needed to sleep. The man at the front desk was SO nice and welcoming and our room was clean, in good repair, and the beds were sooo comfortable! Breakfast in the morning was really good and had many options from eggs, sausage, and waffles, to fruit and cereal, and more.

Great location, quiet.Rate for pets not bad. You expect to pay for a pet if you are a respectful pet owner who loves their dog. I'm sickened with all the users of the world with their so called SERVICE PET.OH don't get bent out of shape, you know who you are, I'm NOT speaking to the rightful owners of service pets, who deserve it.MAN UP! The hotel employees work hard for us!

This property is your basic, modest, functional, by the highway motel. The non-smoking room had been well cleaned other than the fact that a smoker had clearly been in the room previously and the staff neglected to air it out or spray air freshener during their cleaning. ( I won't even comment on the rudeness of the previous guest in smoking in the non-smoking room). Having just been in a higher rated hotel, I was irritated by a number of other misses: the shower rod had clearly been reinstalled previously but the rod sagged in the middle so the curtain wouldn't close, there was no elevator, and no laundromat. The side door key entry didn't work so it was open to anyone. On the plus side, the staff was friendly, breakfast was fair and the bed was comfortable.

The room was clean, and the bed was super comfy. Although cold outside, the room kept its warm temperature without blowing a lot of noisy air. Price was very reasonable. Staff was accommodating and friendly, treated us like family. We plan to stay there as we travel through the area in the future.

We stay here each and every time we are coming through!! This is one of our favorites! The staff from housekeeping, front desk, manager, all of them are so polite, friendly, happy, wonderful people. They make for feel right at home. The motel is always clean inside and out. Tailgate next door has great food, reasonable prices. Across the parking lot is a nice field for the boys to run. Again great for the dogs.

I booked this hotel through expedia on my way to the facility. When I went to check in I and another guests had to wait 5 minutes before someone showed up to check us in. When it was my turn I asked if they had a military discount. The staff member said yes. She told me it would have saved me 42 dollars but I had already paid. I shrugged it off because I was feeling sick and wanted to get some rest. When I got to my room I wanted to take a shower. One of the towels was stained brown. The tub sounded like it was going to crack at any moment. I only way 175 lbs so don't think it's because my weight. In summary if you like poor customer service being treated like garbage and dirty disgusting room by all means stay here.

Had to buy a room here for $160 because apparently Sturgis has that effect on SF hotel prices. I have to rate this hotel off of what we paid and it definitely did t come close to that price point even at a high demand time. No elevator, poorly stocked breakfast, janky shower, room felt like it only ever gets the bare minimum standard cleaning but never a deep cleaning. Would give it another star if I paid more like $60 a night. One plus is our double Queen room was really big!

Decent and pet friendly. Room was clean besides some carpet stains (pet room). Bed was comfy and I didn't have to ask for extra pillows king bed had 5 already. The guest in the hall and room above us sounded like a heard of cattle coming throu the ceiling but they quieted down around 1030. Staff was friendly and breakfast was fine. Quick easy access to the highway and gas station.

Amazing manager and splendid team of house keepers and front desk receptionists! More than polite and welcoming with a free warm chocolate chip cookie for guests who check to either just swim for three dollars a person and great prices for those guests staying overnight with a complimentary free breakfast! Loved it!

Had a Queen jacuzzi suite (rm 103). It was a decent room, but as with pretty much all jacuzzi suites, it smelled a bit moist. However, I did not see any mold or mildew. Check in/out was smooth and staff was very courteous and friendly. Management should give their night crew (especially Carrie) a raise, because their customer service and demeanor are exceptional! Imagine trying to be up all night and deal with grumpy, tired and pushy truckers... all with a smile! Not only will I be back, but it might even be tonight!

Upon arrival we found the heating / air conditioning unit in the double queen suite we reserved had the whole front cover removed from the unit as if it were under repair. There were no more douible queen rooms left so we had to settle for 1 king bed. Some time shortly after 10:30pm there was no water at all in the room. I phoned the front desk at 4am and they told me the entire hotel had no water and that a maintenance person wouldn't arrive until later that morning with no e.t.a. I would think maintenance persons would be on call 24/7 for that sort of issue. Needless to say- no shower, no flushing the toilet, etc. We had planned on leaving at 7am and couldn't wait around to see if the water would come back on so we left at 5am. It was a miserable experience.

Conflicted review. I will try to be thorough & honest while taking in my observations without bias. Okay so..i notice this place is reviewed moderately high. That makes me feel weird when i have complaints about a place that everyone else is okay with. I have just moved to SD with my daughter & dog. I was sent to Brandon by an officer who said i looked lost. We had just made it into town midnight before & (unknowingly arriving on a holiday) found rooms to be full\rates to be hiked, stayed at the Journey KOA (also not knowing a little mini storm would blow in as soon as i haphazardly assembled the tent) so we slept in the vehicle we just spent hours riding inside. Therefore that made finding this place pretty pleasent considering I'd only slept 2 hours in the past 48 there would only be a last room available at around $101.00 for a single. The room seemed really cozy initially, very cold in contrast with spending the morning trying to rest in a warm humid cramped vehicle, & a huge comfy bed. The place could severely benefit from some updated amenities. I guess most places figure "if it ain't broke" but i don't think they take into account how much more relaxing it is to feel like you're not their trillionth customer. A fresh coat of paint could do wonders for the cleanliness & would be relatively quick\inexpensive to update every so often. The fridge is from before i was born, I'm more than certain, but worked & we had snacks that needed to be chilled to keep from losing what I'd spent to avoid restaraunt prices. The kitchen sink leaked but at least there was one. Doorframes looked kinda dirty & bathroom tile needed it's grout scrubbed. I don't like stopping & going in somewhere to get clean while being afraid to touch certain things as to not get more dirty. It had that greasy humid film over it if y'all know what i mean. Hard water stains in the bath but the water was nicely hot. I desprately needed to steam my sore muscles & the hot tub by the pool didn't quite do the trick. Lots of rust\tarnish over\on metal finishes. We were allowed to check into our room earlier than I've ever been able to so that just made my toddler's day seeing as we had nothing to do except ride around aimlessly in the heat until the evening when they normally make you wait. My biggest concern is with pulling back the sheets to a dead bug. I'm an adult, I've dealt with yuck things, a dead bug doesn't necessarily reflect cleanliness but i think everyone is here for mainly one thing and that's a bed. I swept it away and layed down on some of the softest sheets I've ever felt only to roll over to another, not so dead, bug. I don't think either of them were anything serious but it definitely put a damper on my nap & made me more aware of where i touched. I moved the covers back a little more & noticed an old, dried blood droplet stain. This room NEEDS a more hygienic matress because this is just one of those super old light blue/pink spring matresses that pre\post 90's era kids grow up with. Lots of pores for lots of critters. I won't inspect it further. Pulling the window shades shut i also look down into the ac vents which seem exceptionally coated in grime. Can't verify presence of mold. The room smells okay, in that it doesn't smell. Usually there are foul odors floating about but this seems ventilated enough to be fresh. Overall reception was nice & compared to the only other hotel in this particular town the price was okay though i can't speak for their rooms across the lot. I only intended to spend 80 or so so i am disappointed that i caved to the temptaion of relaxation but i wouldn't say i regret stopping given that this is really the only option i had since the female officer pointed me in this direction advising against other spots for a couple of young ladies to stay. I would like to conclude by saying i absolutely adore South Dakota my first full, normal day. I wish i could put up a billboard and thank each random encounter I've had. Such pleasant people here. Update: extremely kind manager contacted me directly after my stay!
