I have had animals of all kinds for nearly four decades and with that comes regular veterinary care. Over that time I have lived in different regions of the US and known and worked with many vets both personally and professionally. Dr. Stevens is the best vet I have ever had the privilege to know. Her knowledge is extensive, but more than that, she is humble enough to ask when she doesn't have the answer. I trust her implicitly when I drop my animals off for procedures because I know she cares about them as much as I do. That trust is earned in every interaction I have with her. She answers all my questions when we have appointments and never makes me feel like I'm taking too much of her time...even when I am. Her explanations are thorough and well thought out and she is willing to discuss all treatment possibilities if issues ever arise. She is exceptional in a world filled with mediocre.

Dr. Rogan did an amazing job on 3 surgeries for our standard poodle Louie. He was so thorough, did a great job of explaining procedures/follow up, and was wonderful to work with. We recently took our cat in for removal of a polyp in her ear. We didn’t have to wait at all, and they immediately had us in an exam room. Dr. Rogan did a superb job of explaining the options for our cat, showing us sketches of the problem and how it could be fixed. He was super gentle with our girl and made us feel comfortable she was in good hands. I felt the pricing was very reasonable, and they showed us an itemized high and low estimate before her procedure. I would highly recommend Horizon Pet Care.

Everyone from the receptionist to the tech to our vet was kind, knowledgeable and spent somuch time with us making sure we understood the procedure. On Saturday morning, our pup was discharged and the vet and his wife came in and spent more time with us making sure we knew exactly what to do with our Ruby in the upcoming weeks and demonstrated the exercises with Ruby. Fantastic place!

We had an amazing experience with Dr. Rogen and his staff alike. We brought our 10 week old Cane Corso (Diesel) from Manitoba, Canada to have his ears cropped. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. I had a pup that ended up in the ER in SF and I had just moved so I had no established vet. I called Horizon after Biscuit was discharged and they picked up her follow up care even though I wasn't an established client. From the second I was seen by Dr. Bosch and her staff I felt comfortable. The quality of care and expertise this place has is outstanding. Biscuit's condition was explained to me in a manner I could understand, the options we had were discussed extensively until I had the information I needed to decide what our next steps would be. They made sure that I knew I could call any time to ask questions or discuss her condition. I was in there at least once a week for 3 months with her condition and each and every time every single staff member I worked with was pleasant, caring, and good-hearted. The prices are VERY reasonable for the care you receive. These people are wonderful and they truly want to do anything they can to give your pet the absolute best care for your situation. My girl passed away as she was terminal but I now have another one of my pups who is ill and I have moved away from the area but am still making the 3.5 hour drive to have them care for my girl. Best Vet in South Dakota, hands down.THANK YOU HORIZON <3 You gave me 3 extra months with Biscuit and no words, review, or amount of money can make up for how extremely thankful I am to have peace of mind that my pups are in the best care possible.

When we moved to Sioux Falls we tried a few different clinics and couldn't quite find the right fit until we found Dr. Stevens. She is one of the most thorough, knowledgable, and caring vets I've worked with. She answers all questions completely and stays on top of current research. I have two Australian Shepherds and she carefully and thoughtfully handles medications due to the risk of an MDR1 reaction. I trust her with my dogs 100%!All of the other staff have been helpful and friendly when we have appointments and are available when issues pop up. They are an all around fantastic clinic.

I believe this is the best vet clinic in the Sioux Falls area. The Dr.'s are extremely helpful, caring, and knowledgeable. We have taken our yorkies here for several years now and couldn't be happier. In October, Lili (13.5 year old) was diagnosed with diabetes. Last week she had cataract surgery in Minneapolis, but Horizon helped prepare her for the surgery (eye exam and started eye drops at Thanksgiving) and is completing all of the follow up visits. It is such a blessing that we could give Lili her sight back. Thank you to all of the staff at Horizon for everything you do for us, we are so grateful - Lili is now able to "supervise" the neighborhood again!

They (Alex the vet and the vet techs) were wonderful. After examining Myles Alex took time to explain what treatment they did for Myles and when I didn't completely understand all the terminology he drew me a picture of where the body parts were (gall bladder etc.) so I could understand what they did. Would highly recommend them.

I brought my Cane Corso home at seven weeks old and called Horizon Pet Care right away to make an appointment to get her ears cropped. The staff was excellent and very easy to talk to. They were flexible for me and my schedule, which was very much appreciated as I had to plan a whole day of driving!I was a bit nervous going in as this was my first puppy I decided to crop. Dr. Rogen put my mind at ease by answering all my questions and explaining the process. I've attached a picture of my girl, Macaria, at 10 weeks right before her crop. A picture of once we got home after her crop with her hat and cone on. A picture after stitches were removed. And a picture I took when she turned six months! Thank You so much for doing such a wonderful job! I'm so grateful I entrusted my girl to you all.

I will be trying a different doctor here. Both times we took our pets to Dr. VanHolland, we did not have a good experience. The first time we felt that she came across as a bit condescending and judgemental. However we figured it could've been an off day, so a year later we took our new dog to her. We had just gotten him, and he still had some issues with puppy mouthing at a yr and a half old. Plus he wasn't the biggest fan of the vet, but was still doing well. When Dr VanHolland examined his head/face, he was trying to puppy-nibble her. She grabbed his mouth and yelled "no bite". Now, I understand that people don't like puppy biting, but I felt she was overstepping by disciplining him in that way, especially since this wasn't our preferred training method. Plus, dogs get nervous at the vet, and veterinarians ought to know that. What happened next really bothered me. She turned to me and said, in a very reprimanding and condescending tone, 'this is NOT acceptable. Are you working on this?!' Mind you, we had JUST gotten him, and she knew that. I did not appreciate being disrespected in this way, and felt her behavior was unprofessional. We like the clinic, but will be going to a different doctor there from now on.

Horizon Pet Care was wonderful for my cat's orthopedic surgery. They had availability within a week, which meant she didn't have to wait in pain for very long. They were kind and explained the procedure, the fees, the after-care. They took such good care of my kitty, and she is healing up nicely. I would recommend them to anyone.

If I could rate this place higher than 5 stars, I would! Excellent facility. Was greeted as I walked through the door. Was given a room right away and Tony was there within minutes. No waiting time.
