My stay at La Quinta in Rapid City was an exceptional experience, offering excellent value for the price. It seems the hotel is either newly built or recently renovated, as everything felt fresh and up-to-date. The room I stayed in was spacious and immaculately clean, providing a very comfortable environment. The bathroom was equally impressive, clean, and bright, with a large mirror that was very convenient. One of the standout features of this hotel was its pet-friendly policy. With just a $25 pet fee, it's a great choice for travelers with dogs. The presence of a dog park right next to the hotel, which was clean and well-maintained, made our stay even more enjoyable. The parking lot was well-lit and felt secure throughout the night, adding to the sense of safety during our stay.I highly recommend La Quinta in Rapid City, especially for those traveling with pets. It provides a great combination of comfort, cleanliness, and convenience, making it an excellent choice for any traveler passing through the area.

This place you can tell is very busy and highly understaffed. There was only one front desk person working (Crystal). She skipped me when checking in and helped the next person in line when she knew I was there. Room was nice and location as well. The TV remote was missing when I got to my room and i called them twice which they never sent someone up for. So I couldn’t watch TV my entire stay. This is a nice looking establishment and in a good location but very poor service.

I recently stayed at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Rapid City and had a mixed experience. The rooms were spacious, but the decor was outdated and showed signs of wear and tear. The carpet was stained, and the bedding was not fresh. The bathroom was clean, but the showerhead was weak, and the water pressure was poor. The breakfast was a disappointment, with a limited selection of stale and unappetizing food. The eggs were overcooked, the bacon was burnt, and the pastries were dry. The coffee was also lukewarm and not freshly brewed. However, the staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. They were quick to address any issues and made an effort to make me feel welcome. The front desk was efficient and helpful, and the housekeeping staff was thorough and friendly.Overall, I would say that this hotel is in need of a renovation and improved cleaning standards. While the staff was pleasant, the condition of the room and breakfast left much to be desired. I would only recommend this hotel if you're looking for a budget-friendly option and don't mind overlooking some flaws.

I stayed just one night at this hotel on my way home -- I wish I could have stayed longer! The hotel was clean, the room was spacious and clean, and the bed was delicious. Staff were so helpful and professional. Location is convenient for travelers. There is a fenced dog area -- very nice! The window in my room opened -- fresh air is always appreciated. I would stay here again -- no question -- and highly recommend.

Room was clean except for the vent in the bathroom, beds were kinda hard but nice to have 2 kings in a room for a family of 5. The hotel itself overall was very nice. The restaurant connected while it had a clean look was some of the worst food we’ve ever had even the kids couldn’t eat their favorites. The waterpark was wonderful overall very clean not overpowered by chlorine something for all ages but I recommend going during the week less busy. Don’t expect lifeguards there were only 2 and one was on her phone at the top of the slide the whole time not paying attention to anything.Rooms: Clean great to have 2 king beds in one room for a bigger familyNearby activities: Watiki was great for all the family, very clean not overpowered by chlorine or too busy but go during the week. Lifeguards are non existent.Food & drinks: Horrible worst pizza we’ve ever had, daughter’s burger had so much salt it was crunchy and she couldn’t eat it.

Honestly one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in, especially for the price point. Staff was very friendly, free access to pool/jacuzzi and discounted admission into the water park as well as discounts at the attached restaurant.Hotel is about 40 minutes from Mount Rushmore and lots of food options nearby. My only complaints with the room/hotel is that the walls do seem pretty thin, could hear neighbors above and next to me, and the shower head looked like it needed a cleaning.Would definitely stay here again though in the future.

This hotel stole 200 dollars from me. There booking software screwed up my reservation, my stay was supposed to be May 3rd and I found in my bank statement that they billed me for my stay on April 8th. My wife called the hotel and they told her there was nothing they could do about it since we did not catch it that day. Be careful making a reservation online for this hotel.

I've worked all over the US as a contractor and simply put this was the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The rooms are very nice and they provided a high quality breakfast in the morning with hot food. There's a water park for kids and even an EV charger nearby for my vehicle. Meanwhile the rates on their rooms are perfectly fair. Thank you 👍

Dawn at the front desk was fantastic. When we told her that we were kept up all night by a noisy elevator directly next to our room she was very sympathetic and accommodating and gave us a free nights stay at our next Wyndham stop. This is why we will always stay at Wyndham resorts and hotels.

Bed bugs. They were on the couch and I wasn't made aware until the next morning when my child showed me the bites & welts on her hip, hands, feet & neck. She'd slept on sheets covering the couch because the hideaway was nasty. It wasn't until later after the bites she told me she'd killed a bug on the couch that looked like a small tick. We confirmed she'd killed a bed bug on the DOH website. The suite we stayed in was clean but the hideaway bed was gross and there were stains on the chairs so we put towels down on them. But it's a pet/kid friendly hotel, so that didn't surprise me.

Advertised as having breakfast from 6-9am & that was a big reason we booked. We go downstairs at 8:30 and they’ve already shut it down. When the front desk lady (short blonde hair) was asked about it she said “oh, they’ve cleaned up already?” and went to the back and then didn’t return. We were very disappointed and will not be staying at any La Quinta again. What’s the point of advertising breakfast hours if you’re gonna ignore them

Check-in was fast and easy. When entering the room i found a pill on the ground and the floor looked like it was never vacuumed when it was cleaned. one of the bed sheets had a huge brown stain on the corner. When I brought this to the attention of front desk staff they said sorry and would talk with house keeping. On the second night I checked my bank account to find out that I had a pending charge of $200. When I went to speak to the desk staff they said it would be returned to me after check out. No where did it say i would be charged $200 extra!!! This money was part of my vacation money! When the day we checked out came the front staff was not able to find the $200 charge to my bank account. I did receive the $200 back but days later. i will not be coming back again.

On website says they have a hot tub, after a full day of driving was looking forward to a quiet soak. Tub is in the water park with kids playing and yelling throughout the park. You need to get a special card for tub so you’re not charged to get into the park. Reserved ADA room with roll in shower as my wife is confined to a wheelchair. Had 2 queen beds and barely enough room between beds to get her wheelchair in between. I need to transfer her into bed and after wheelchair I had to crawl over the bed to get to her and not enough room to assist her safely, and same problem getting her out of bed. Breakfast was the worst we’ve ever had, pancakes and eggs were frozen and reheated, dry an just barely lukewarm and looked 2-3 days old. To top that off, a contractor was working on the front door of the kitchen area with an electric tile chisel. Could have waited until breakfast time was over or some sort of noise barrier, was so bad couldn’t even have a conversation. Don’t know if true but another guest told me that there is a higher charge for the ADA rooms. But rate did seem fairly high for pee-poor room, so going to check with the ADA if this is possible and or legal.

Well..if you like one body towel per person in the bathroom which screams the extreme conservativeness of the company..knock yourself out. Hop into the shower only to find yourself becoming one with Megalodon pubes on the soap dispensers from the previous people who just stayed there. Waterpark says hotel is to supply pool towels if your staying at the hotel and the front desk will not. One toilet paper roll and zero plastic linen bags for dirty or wet clothes. 🤦‍♀️ Take stock of everything you’ll need and go down to front desk for it all from the beginning.

This hotel was priced fairly well for what we got. The room we had was fairly small for our two bed room but it was comfortable. It was attached to the Watiki Water park which was pretty fun but you had to pay extra for (but with a hotel discount). The hot tub was free with hotel room purchase however as long as you went and got a wristband. There were breakfast options but it was not included

Definitely a hotel with attached water park… maybe more family-friendly than business-friendly, but just fine for the value. Ended up with an accessible room with poor water pressure, and really appreciated the staff switching me to another that was much better. Pillows a little small and lumpy, but overall comfortable.Rooms: Fine, comfortable for the value.Nearby activities: Water park, small walking path in the parking lot, near the newly-installed Box even center.

We slept great! We were moving from Washington state to Indiana, and it was at the end of our second day of travel. The previous night had seen us in a lumpy and hard queen bed. We were exhausted and stiff. Our new room in this La Quinta had a king size; the mattress was very comfortable! Our cat was welcomed for only $25 deposit. The hotel is full of excited kids because of the water park next door. When we arrived at 930pm and tried to sleep, our neighbors above were stomping, running, pounding on their floor. I called the front desk to ask if we could move rooms, but there were no empty rooms, so the front desk person offered to call the folks above us and request they settle down. That was really brave, and really appreciated!! They settled down right away and we were able to sleep (and recover from our previous night in a really uncomfortable hotel and all the previous days' travel.). Really appreciate that we were well rested the next day to keep going.

The stay was okay, but slept terrible. Either there was a clunky dryer or newlyweds nearby my room. And the ac unit is in the room so it kicks on and off throughout the night. The rooms were very clean & there is a pet relief area if you're traveling with dogs. It's attached to a Water Park so I could see where it would be a good place for groups or families to stay. I'm just passing through & it was one of the more affordable options in this area.Very basic complimentary breakfast is available until 9am on weekdays.

Room was great, very clean and comfy. Checked in shortly before the pool/water park closed for the day and was disappointed. Front door was under construction which made it difficult to use the luggage trolley. Next morning, we planned to use the pool/water park but couldn’t find any information on it in the room or with our checkin papers. After being awake for about a half hour, I had a horrible headache from all the noise in the hotel… realized you can everything in the halllway and outside. Headache and noise was so bad that we skipped the breakfast and just left (carrying/wheeling our luggage because no trolleys were to be found).

For the price it was pretty good, the breakfast is really just fast in the go stuff like oatmeal packets and granola bars with coffee. It's next to Wendy's tho. I slept well.Safety: Lots of different types of food here judging by the car variation in the parking lot. I had no problems traveling solo.Food & drinks: Lots of places near to enjoy.

Was not at all happy when I had already paid over 400 to stay 4 nights that i also had to pay to get into the water park PER day. Then I go to check out and find out that I pay another 40 because they charge you a per day resort fee because they are attached to a water park!!!I will also add that they breakfast was the same every morning and was cold!! Complaint made may many.If I ever visit Rapid City SD again I will not be staying at LaQuinta!!
