They had a genuine enthusiasm for caring for my dog! She got more attention and outside play time than the other places I have boarded her. The facilities are clean. There are convenient drop off and pick up times. I also like the app to be able to see photos and updates during the stay.

We boarded our dog here very last minute in April 2024 and had an excellent experience! The rates are more than reasonable, the facility is clean, and they give daily updates on how your pet is doing while in their care.It was evident that they spent time with our dog because they were able to pinpoint specific characteristics about her personality when we picked her up.We will return for all our boarding needs!

Almost home pet resort will be my go to for my babies when I have to go on trips. They were caring, kind, and conscientious. They have wonderful add ons that allow you to set up a stay that works best for your pet. They take special needs into consideration and can adapt to personality eccentricities efficiently. My hound is a runner and they caught on to her habits easily to prevent any issues. I loved the reports cards they sent out everyday. It put me at ease to know that my dogs were being treated well and also behaving themselves. Shane was very welcoming and funny during drop off and pick up.Thank you for being so good to my dogs, we can't wait to visit again!

We've used Almost Home for years, and always had good things to say about them. We were unhappy when they closed and struggled to find a new boarding place where my dogs would eat and feel comfortable. The new owners are fabulous and running the kennel in a similar fashion to the previous owners. My dogs ate every meal during a recent one week stay and enjoyed the attention of the owners family.

We loved having our cat stay at the Almost Home Pet Resort! She normally travels with us and has never stayed in a kennel and although she had her own thoughts about being left I was beyond grateful for the daily reports on how she did, her attitude and how she ate as well as the clean facility and very friendly owners/staff!

My baby girl was a quarantine baby so she could not get socialized with other dogs or with people. Dustin and his co worker have been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with her and her fear aggression. They are so friendly and very professional. I’m even allowed to stop in with her just to say hi! I’m able to walk around the property with her and make sure the staff is safe. Baby girl has a lot of behaviors. I am able to leave her with them and not have to worry about anything! The more and more I go there, the more progress I see. Never doubt the staff at almost home!

This was my first time boarding my anxious 5 month old puppy and we were on a road trip. I got her when she was 2.5 months and we spent every day together, so I was nervous going in, but the owners there (Dustin and Aspen) were so kind and helpful. Aspen was there when I dropped off my dog and she answered my many, many questions and was very attentive when listening to my dog's rules, routines, etc. which eased my worries. I also left her toys and slow feeders and gave instructions for those. I left the place feeling confident that my dog was in good hands.Fast forward to when I picked her up and I was right! My dog was very happy and playful. Dustin brought her out and I could tell that she had a LOT of fun with him. I asked about her activities and he was happy to share her notes and was detailed when telling me about her behaviour (how she acted around other dogs, how she reacted to the barking, her body language when she was playing, her demeanor when meeting new caretakers, etc.). I was also happy to hear that she ate her food and showed interest in her toys which told me that she was happy and not too stressed and that she was in great care. Since we had a long drive ahead, Dustin let us use the yard to play for a bit. He also washed one of her toys for her. He shared training advice, dog food advice, and was very respectful of my dog and my training.Overall, I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. The owners are PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, PATIENT, and KIND. I left this place feeling confident in my dog, my own training, their care for my dog, and I even felt like my dog was better behaved.P.S. I was desperately looking for a boarding place and they had one spot left when I called. I made it there 10 minutes before closing and I would've understood if they turned me away, but they didn't! Even though I came late in the day, I did not feel rushed at all. Aspen walked me through the check-in and answered all my questions (see above).

We always leave our two senior dogs here together when we travel and they are always well cared for. During their most recent stay one of our dogs further declined in his health and had several issues. Dustin called us several times while we were gone to keep us in the loop about how he was doing and went above and beyond to give our dog extra special care that he needed. He would have been completely justified in charging us extra for the unexpected issues he had to deal with and still didn't. We are so appreciative for the kind of care that was provided for our dogs at Almost Home and highly recommend this place to anyone.

I boarded my dog here for the weekend and have nothing but good things to say! Scheduling boarding is quick and hassle free. You can easily download all immunization records onto their website. The building is clean. The staff were friendly. My dog seemed to have a great stay! I will definitely continue to utilize this boarding facility. Thank you!

Almost Home Pet Resort is the best! I have a French bulldog who is sometimes a handful, but the staff and groomer are excellent! Before taking her in they offered a tour of the facility, I was surprised how clean it was! They sent us daily report cards everyday we took here Im, And even a few pictures. These people truly love animals and it shows. I am active duty military and they worked with me when I had crazy hours. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. This is only place you should take your animal for day care grooming. My vet at rapid city animal hospital even said this is the best place in town and the only place she trusts. To top this all of they are very fairly priced!

I have an 8 year old German Shepard and we left her here for 5 days. I had left one of my shirtswith her, on recommendation of one of the employees. When I picked her up the receptionist told me the shirt needed to be washed because it had urine on it. I had taken her bed for her and as we were driving we could smell the urine on it!!! My dog has an excellent bladder. She goes at least 12 hours without having to urinate. This tells me she was not taken out on a regular basis. She has NEVER had ANY accidents in the house. I paid for 2 extra hours for someone to sit with her and have one on one time. At this point I’m not even sure they did! I am so angry that my dog had to sleep in her urine soaked bed and who knows what else she had to do in her kennel. I will NEVER take her back nor will I recommend this business to anyone.

Love love love this place! It's such a warm and safe place to bring my pups. The girl in the front is always so friendly and I love that the groomer always tried to come out and say hello before and after your appointment. She does a great job and makes me dogs look adorable everytime! This definetly has become our permanent groomers.I would recommend them to anyone!

This place is great! Friendly, clean and affordable! Best in town as far as I’m concerned. My Great Dane had never been boarded before and had a hard time finding a groomer as well being he’s a large breed and that seems to intimidate people. But these guys catered to his every need and completely understood his quirks. I appreciate that they didn’t have a preconceived notion of him! They went the extra mile of putting oiment on his nose and calling and checking in with me; I appreciate that! They also provide a military discount! Definitely recommend this great, little business and we will be back!

We started taking our two pups here to be groomed when they first opened. We were always very satisfied with their haircuts and never had any issues. I called a couple weeks ago to make an appointment and there was no answer. Over the past two weeks I have called about 5 times with no answer. The last time I called, I left a message and never received a call back. Unfortunately, we had to find a new groomer.

Super affordable and close to base! They groomed my pups exactly the way I described it. Also they offer military discount and give out punch cards to get 15% off your fifth grooming. Really clean and friendly staff, I highly recommend!!

First time boarding my dog and I was a little nervous. But they were so friendly, answered all of my questions, updated me on how my dog was doing after I left. Definitely put my mind at ease and felt like my dog was in good hands!

We came from Nebraska and needed a place for our boy for a few days. The man that works here really seems to know. dogs. Our boy is usually pretty nervous around new people, but he came up to him and was okay. We were VERY impressed with the service and the hospitality here. It would almost be worth the 8 hour trip just to have our boy stay here.

Great place! I don't like to board my Kitty Girl, but when I have to, I know she's safe and well cared for by Aspen and Justin. They are awesome! And the facilities are new and CLEAN! I highly recommend ALMOST HOME!

This place is top notch. After searching for a groomer our entire trip out west we finally found this one to groom our baby. They are awesome and done a wonderful job. She did everything exactly like I ask. Great job. Wish I could take you along in our travels. Thanks again.

Brought my dog last week to get a bath. Extremely affordable compared to Petco and PetMart. Staff was extremely nice and they have a military discount! First time ever Kato walled out/came out not shaking! He was a happy Chihuahua. This will be the place I will used for now on. I don't typically leave reviews but this place was worth it.

We were visiting the area from out of state and due to the continuous rain were unable to do as many outdoor activities with our dog as initially planned. Doggie day care here allowed us the comfort to enjoy other activities knowing our dog was in a safe and caring environment.
