Usually can expect reasonable prices but milk prices vary a lot from one visit to the next. I paid much more this last visit than I did a couple of weeks ago. Also, the store was nasty. Don't know who's managing it but will probably be a while before I go back. I will update this post if or when I do go back.

Positive: Decent selection and very friendly staff. Everything good that you would expect from a Dollar General, once you walk in the door.Negative: Older, run-down, cluttered store in a really crappy location. It's not dangerous, it's just hidden from the main road by other buildings, and I lived here for nearly six months before I even knew it was here.Rating of 4 is definitely "not judging a book by its cover"

The person who checked me out was most helpful! I had a bag from a previous purchase and that bag had torn, spilling out its contents and she came around the counter to my electric wheelchair and picked up what had fallen out and placed them in a new bag for me. She was very considerate. I'll definitely be shopping at that Dollar General Store again!!

Spent 42.00 . Manager couldn't get my receipt to print. I was questioning the amount. So the cashier started righting one. That don't tell me discounts I was due. So I said I didn't want that. The manger told me to get out of the store and don't come back. Now I find out he has taken a no Tessa'stres on me. I spend already two hundred a month and this is how I was treated. Still didn't get my receipt

Shelves were bear in some areas of this store on this visit. This may of been due to other stores being temporarily closed in the area. My previous trips it was stocked pretty good.

My wife and I needed a flashlight for our home. We immediately thought of Dollar general, drove to the store, found what we wanted. We knew this purchase would save us money, which is very important to this retired couple. Thanks

Normally i love this place.. but there are 2 employees there i see them on 2 shift.. but they are rude they act like you are bothering them if as a question.. i was there last night spotted 1 tried to ask if a certain item was in there store very aggressively i got a partial response pointed me to look myself RUDE RUDE I LEFT I REFUSE TO SPEND MY MONEYAT A PLACE THAT comes across with an attitude at me.. and may i add 2 customers only in that store and 1 walk out with me said same thing nasty attitude..

Staff didn't know much. I fell in some bleach - was already in a squatting position looking at some things on a bottom-shelf. Didn't know that the small amount of bleach that was on the floor was there and when I went to stand I fell right into my bottom. My brand new Galaxy note 9 was in my back pocket and is now destroyed 😞. The fall made a significantly loud noise because I grab my cart to try to steady myself, but it was about a min, maybe longer, before someone came to ask if I was ok.... And even then, it was about how long I had been in the store (it was Christmas Eve and i had limited money to work with due to existing extenuating circumstances - also I'd been in an argument with my spouse, and just wanted to get away for awhile - the amount of time I'd been in the store shouldn't have mattered - I spent hundreds of dollars!) I explained that I'd fallen and no one said or did ANYTHING about it. I've never had that happen before, so I'm not familiar with what SHOULD'VE happened, but I feel like my phone should at least be paid for - just saying.....

This is the best Dollar General in York in my opinion. They have a wider selection of items compared to the other ones.
