We stopped in for lunch on our way from the mountains to Alpharetta. Nice little find. Meat and 2 sides. Nice fried chicken, great fried okra, tasy potato salad, and a nice piece of cornbread. Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere is classic small town America, but the tears in the booth seats could use some attention. Nice and tasty unpretentious food. Glad we stopped in.

We, by chance, stopped here after some sightseeing in the area. Website state great food and dog friendly. When we entered, we asked if it was OK to have our dog with us, and they said yes as long as she was quiet and not a nuisance to the other patrons. Our food was served, which was very good,and the waitress told us there was a complaint about our dog (who was quiet the entire time) we were able to finish our meal with no further issues until check out when another person stated oh we let dogs in now. Again, the food was delicious, but the management and owner needs to change what their website says about being pet friendly. I will return for the food and bring my 🐕

They have the best burgers. They also have the best flounder, and my husband and I always order it for lunch on Fridays. All the waitresses are very nice and friendly, and always provide us great service! We appreciate this restaurant!!!!

Another OMG moment! Everything we tried was mouthwatering and just like my Mama used to make it. I cried...she has gone to heaven. Chicken fried steak with white gravy, meatloaf, mac n cheese, crinkle fries, green beans, fried okra, mashed potatoes, BlackBerry cobbler, strawberry cake... This is a go ahead and get there kind of place! Wow!

Updated review:Mountain View Steak and Seafood in West Union/Walhalla. I absolutely love their seafood on the weekends. I posted about it when I first started this page. So, today, my grandma and I decided we would try their meat and 2.Honestly, and unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. The meat was dry and tough (although it DID taste really good!!) And the turnip greens were very bland. The roll was really good dipped in the white gravy and the fried okra was exceptionally good!All in all, we will go back, but it'll probably be for seafood datenight with hubby!*** Debra (acts like the owner and could be) really laid into me for having this less than positive review on my Original Oconee Foodies group. Lots of other people had some not so positive things to say about the restaurant as well, and i refuse to censor real opinions (thats what reviews are for!) She said it was very tacky for people to "bash" businesses... although I had more positive to say than negative. Essentially, she wanted me to remove a negative review and said I was really wrong for not doing so - which is bad business conduct. Do with this info as you wish. ***The below review was a 5-star review from 1 year ago:We were skeptical. We really were. A seafood joint in a small town, 6 hours from the coast?We were WRONG!This place is fantastic!! Great portions, great prices and great tasting food! Came out so fresh and piping hot. The good thing is, we are only 5 minutes away. This is our new go-to restaurant! It's awful the food lacks a lot, and when a cheese burger fries, a hamburger steak fries & coleslaw a few oysters maybe 8 with hard as rock hushpuppies fries & coleslaw comes to $54;00 I think we lost a lot on that one!The place is not clean and needless to say we will not be going back!

They had an issue with us asking for a menu. They only serve white meat fried chicken which wasn't specified so my wife couldn't eat her food. She told them this. They said nothing and walked away. Even if she could've eaten it, it was overcooked and dry. They made a Cheeseburger for my daughter, which apparently adults can't order even though it's adult sized, and it was not cooked all the way through. I got two salmon patties and a small bowl of okra. They charged me $9.20 for this. The salmon was out of a can. They didn't apologize for anything. Didn't comp us for the uneaten food and we paid almost $50 for trash. Will not be coming back. I would give a zero if possible. Now I have to go elsewhere for food for my daughter and wife.

I used to love eating here. But for the bland and small bit of food that was received for $22 dollars, I'm a bit disappointed this time. Not sure I'll be willing to spend that much next time or again. Service is always great though.

Hubby and I stopped in for lunch on a Friday. He had a burger and I had a grilled chicken salad (I have to eat gluten free) both were delicious.Dietary restrictions: It's a meat and 3 place mostly everything is battered and deep fried so if you can't have gluten not much to choose from. They have veggies if you are vegetarian.

Went for Prime Rib. It was good. Side of grilled vegetables weren't thrilling and the coleslaw is fine chopped and tasteless as well as Luke warm, sent slaw back. Will go back for the seafood plate.

Don’t let the decor dissuade you from a very good eating experience. The building appears to be an old store that has been repurposed into a local, down home restaurant. During the week, the menu is reportedly more comfort food but on Friday and Saturday nights, they have steaks and seafood of various kinds. Our servers were very friendly and attentive and other than a bit of spit and polish, the atmosphere is just plain but pleasant.

Well the restaurant is not the cleanest but it is an old building. Service is laking. Food was cold when brought to the table. The most disappointing thing is it is mountain view STEAK and SEAFOOD but they have no steak nor seafood. The country fried steak tast like the ground beef,fish, and God knows what and made a patty. Very disappointed 😞. Also there are no prices on anything.

Sorry but not impressed for the price paid. Those can’t be considered crab cakes. Did not taste good at all. Flounder and shrimp was decent. Not impressed with the hush puppies. Ordered the blackberry cobbler and it was more like a pancake with blackberry syrup. Had to ask for drink refills. I’m still looking for a good local seafood restaurant unfortunately 🤦‍♀️

Everything was so good! They have all the basics that you'd expect from any good mom n pops place, but they also had plenty of choices so I wouldn't see getting bored with their menu even if I ate here all the time. I ate breakfast here twice last week and it was good both times. I especially enjoyed the fried apples (both days... Lol).
