If you are camping at Poinsett State Park this is your camp store! Lots of last minute provisions, as well as a good selection of fishing gear.Also, a great little restaurant attached. I was able to have an egg salad sandwich and their homemade pork skins despite a dairy allergy. Service was great, they were very diligent about my food allergy when preparing my meal. More importantly, it was delicious! They serve breakfast all day, so my husband had that for lunch. His biscuits and gravy were some of the best he's had!

I stopped by on way back from Georgetown and was delighted at what a cool, vintage place this is! There are a lot of items people need plus a divine little diner in the rear of the building. And I loved the loo. A very interestingly done toilet, sparkling clean, beachy feel to the adorable bathroom. The lemonade was perfect, not overly-sweet, just right. I'd already eaten or I'd have ordered something more. A must-stop for anyone loving authentic . The owner was seated at a desk in middle area and was super-friendly. She has had the store/restaurant for 35 years, and said the prior folks had lived behind it, and it had been going at least 60 years before she bought it. A great little find. I look forward to stopping by again on way back to beach.

I love battens!!.... I go in there like every other day or so and get their double cheeseburger basket. It be soo good. The owners and staff are just so delightful, always greet you with a hello and a smile. Love the old fashioned look of the place, very vintage and to read some of the old articles about battens and wedgefield. Great place to get good food and kind customer service😊

We found it by driving 🚗 by it. The woman running it that day was awesome 👌The four of us are Battens. We took pictures 📸 and and bought shirts with our name on them. It was a pleasant experience.

Ordered the Gatortail basket. The meat was deep fried to a dark dark brown. Thy where dried out rocks. The fries looked good but where cooked in used oil that was starting to turn rancid. The grilled rolls where great. I was axtremely tired from driving rescue dogs to their new hom to complain. But I should not have had to complain as anyone that cooks would have never served that meal in the first place.

Restaurant is not what it used to be. Fries were chewy burger was frozen patty and small. They should try what they are serving they will see the quality for a small local restaurant just isn't there any more.

This is a really cool old time country store on 261 in Wedgefield SC. with all the fishing gear you could need and a quaint little restaurant in the back . You could stop by for a quick drink and spend an hour looking around thinking you walked into a museum instead of a store! 😉

Bug spray, firewood, and a couple of cheeseburger baskets. Where else are you going to get all that in one stop? Hunting/fishing licenses, bait, and plenty of other stuff to get you through the day as well.Check em out! 👍
