These guys are hands down the best online company I’ve ever used! They’re extremely helpful not only making sure you get the right fish for your tank size as well as make sure the fish will be compatible! The selection they offer is absolutely insane especially when it comes to unique and rare African Cichlid’s!! I deal with Ron’s son Hunter on almost a daily basis and not only has pretty much found me everything I’ve wanted he even got on the phone to help me with a tank emergency after hours! These guys work their butts off and the quality of fish they provide is simply unmatched in my opinion! I give them a 10 out of 10!! 5 Stars!! After ordering the fish I received an email from the store asking if I wanted to pay an additional $40 dollars to ship the fish overnight and get a guarantee that they would ARRIVE ALIVE and with a two day delivery…there was no guarantee. He indicated shipping in the winter may be stressful on the fish. This was March, I chose the 2 day delivery. My feeling is if you are not convinced they will arrive alive you should not offer 2 day delivery. I ordered 3 fish, they arrived alive all healthy. However, the fish did not look like what I thought I ordered, they were not colorful. I called the store and spoke with Ron, he explained to me that I ordered FEMALE FISH and they won’t look like the MALE FISH in photos on the website. That FEMALE FISH in general are not as colorful as the MALES , he explained. And, that I should have researched this. Two of the fish I ordered I thought would be BLUE and YELLOW, to my surprise they were BROWN and GREY. I was disappointed as I was trying to add more colorful fish knowing that I have limited space in my tank. Ron didn’t offer any solutions, told me that this happens 5 or 6 times a year, told me that some people get offended if he ask them if they know what they are ordering. I would not have been offended, I would rather have been satisfied with my purchase.

What a great cichlid breeder and supplier. I recieved my fish the next morning at Southwest Air. Ron saved me close to $30.00 shipping with them. I recieved my fish like 16 hours after they were packed. The fish were all bagged seperatly and right out of the bag they looked great and adapted quickly to my well water. Two of the Blueberry OB fish they shipped me had fry in their mouths. Thank You Very Much for the bonus fry!!! And for saving me $$$ I highly recommend Ron's Cichlids

This is a awesome company, they are family owned and really care about their customers and fish quality, they have excellent customer service and communication as you can always call or text them and they will reply unlike some of the other suppliers. Their shipping is stupendous and are packed very well in large bags ( unlike some of the fish I’ve gotten from other suppliers ) some of my other fish have come in such a small package that they were so stressed by the time I got them that I was worried about their health. Ron and his son Hunter picked my peacocks out for me ( at my request ) and they picked beautiful fish for me, I couldn’t be happier. They make their own food specifically for the breed of fish your ordering and stand behind all their products and fish, they can help you with your aquarium set up and will give you advice but even then they give you suggestions but don’t tell you it has to be this way or that, Just honest advice. Great company and unsurpassed customer service, if you are looking for good quality fish look no further than Ron’s Cichlids as you will be very impressed and satisfied.

Rons cichlids is everything that the reviews say! Great fish, great packaging and you get what you order! Some places can't even deliver on what you order. This was my first order with Ron but will not be my last. My only regret was ordering from another company aswell, they let me down in the size of the fish I ordered. But you don't have to worry about that with Ron! I ordered a Red Sun, Lemon Jake, and German Z Rock. They are all stunning!

First and foremost they are such responsive and professional humans who truly care about helping hobbyists enjoy beautiful healthy fish. Every order of fish arrived on time healthy and strong. Some of the rarest and unique Africans I own are from Hunter and Ron. I’m also recommending their fish food. I switched from a flake to their small Cichlid pellets for my Tanganyikan cichlids, in two weeks the activity and color of the fish changed dramatically. A week later my Caudopunctatus spawned. You can’t go wrong with Ron!

Absolute top notch seller of quality fish and fish food. I have been a long time purchaser of Ron's fish food, but first time purchaser of his fish. Unfortunately due to the high demand of his fish, I haven't been able to find any of my desired fish in stock until now. I asked for an estimated day of arrival via email after I placed my order, and received a call from Ron himself the next morning to hammer out details. I switched my shipping method to Southwest Cargo, and Ron covered any the additional cost even though I offered to cover it. I had one size upgrade in my order as well! I have ordered fish from all over the country at this point, from New Jersey to Oregon. These were by far the most carefully packed fish I have ever received. The attention to detail was not overlooked by me and I was beyond impressed. The fish arrived double bagged and in great health with the larger specimens still holding color upon unboxing. These guys are top shelf. You pay more here for the cichlids and shipping but you definitely get what you pay for, great colors and fish that attack the food. They're outstanding to work with as well. I needed to postpone my shipment and they replied right away. I have also purchased some medicated food from Ron's which works great. The food does get messy so be sure to follow the instructions. Overall great place but higher price tag.

Shipping is pretty outrageous but packaging was excellent (with some extras in there!) and the experience was how it should be when getting a pet. Can't wait to see these guys grow and reproduce!Before buying, I checked out the hard work the owner puts in to their facility and I feel confident in saying that I will never go to bigbox or anywhere again except to Ron's Cichlids.

Fish look great and very high quality from the pics but shipping is double or triple from what snake River Cichlids or imperial tropical charges they also use ups next day and it’s only 39.99 I did not complete my purchase when I saw the shipping cost.
