I used to eat here before it closed and reopened. The recent iteration is definitely brighter and roomier which I think is good. My service was excellent and friendly. I got the country ham breakfast with eggs, grits, and biscuit. The ham was good and salty, easy to cut and a decent portion. The eggs were fried just as I ordered. The grits were thick, again a preference of mine since I add butter and stir my yolks in. I was pleasantly surprised that the biscuit was grilled. Not as pleasantly surprised that was a touch too grilled. Still good though. The slight knock on the atmosphere is the clear evidence in the parking lot that they share the premises with a bar whose patrons are not very discerning about how they dispose of their beer cans and bottles. So watch for the broken glass. It is close, open early, and the food was decent so I'll be back.

Food was pretty darn good for a small town cafe!! The burger was HUGH!! Crinkle cut fries were good. The grilled cheese was WONDERFUL, cooked to perfection!!! I love grilled cheese & this was one of THE best I’ve had!! Service was ok. I ordered a cup of coffee & never received a refill, we had to ask for the cole slaw, which came with meal. The waitress was very kind. The restaurant seemed clean enough just an old place.

Honestly, I've eaten here a few times and the food is always good. Today I had car trouble as i pulled in to pick up food and by the grape vine and southern hospitality of someone knowing someone else my car got fixed in the parking lot. They really mean Good Food, Good Friends, Good Times.

The outside of the building looks like it is an abandoned building. The inside was decorated cute but filthy. We had to get our food to go because within minutes I started reacting to the mold and mildew in the building.

The food is good but, over $20 for a double patty melt plate with drink is overkill. You end up spend atleast $25 with a tip and you don't get a refill on your drink unless its tea. I like the place but, I can't justify that price for lunch when it's equivalent to medium - High end restaurants like Texas roadhouse.I know what other diners charge for the same plate, maybe the supplier is hitting them harder than others.In conclusion, Friendly staff, typical dinner set up, better than average food but, substantially higher than normal prices. If you want to spend the money and get good quality dinner food, this is your place. Personally, I think it's not worth it.

I guess they were having an off day as the other reviews seem good, but when we went Saturday they were out of almost everything, we found a dead cockroach under a table, and the cups/table weren't clean. Hubby's omelet came out cold, and our fries were soggy, but also burned, somehow. Service was slow and they had no idea what they were out of until after they went back to the kitchen to ask. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but it was just not good that day.

Come see for yourself!My husband and I stumbled upon this place by accident and we are so glad we did. The food was awesome and the staff is very friendly. In a time when there is so much uncertainty, it’s important to support small business and good people. These are genuinely good people and you won’t be disappointed in the food!

Attitude of "LADY" that took my money/ robbed me was nasty .....to be nicely said. Also the hamburger steak with cheese/fries/and diet coke cost me $18 and change and it wasn't that great. Not to mention the whole place smells like a unattended nursing home. I don't recommend that you eat there....I never will again

Used to love this place. Haven't been there in a while decided to go back since we liked so much. Big disappointment though. The restaurant was clean and service was good, but as far as food it has changed from buffet to the food off the menu. (menu same). Like no country ham, fatback, or bacon on bar like used to. The side of fatback you order off menu they used to give you a basket full, now it's about 5 or 6 strips. Other food wasn't as good. Not to mention the place was like an icebox. I'm hot natured and it was cold to me. Hope for a better experience if I go back.

The building might need a face lift, but dont let that deter you from stopping going inside. Great, comfy, and down home small town atmosphere. Lots of neat pictures and license plates around the place. Prices were unbelievably low for a diner compared to most I've seen across the country. Service was awesome as well. My sweet tea never went empty. I didn't catch my servers name, but she was the gorgeous blonde with the awesome under water tattoo sleeve on her left arm with the starfish, squid, sea turtle, and ship in a bottle. If I'm passing through here again, I will definitely be stopping here.

Haven't been but will be in the area soon and will make it a point. The reviews are worthy of a visit but the response from the owner about Orkin having recently been onsite in response to another review is enough for me....owner seems like the kind of person I like to do business with. Could not handle a troll any better....exactly the kind of business everyone should make a point of supporting!After reading more reviews and the owners responses I may make a special trip to the area just to eat here LOL. Running a small business is danged difficult and the business soon becomes akin to a family member...one you like, not that crazy uncle you can't stand. In this part of the world when someone insults a loved one you take them to task for having done so....I would bet money had the few negative review posters talked to the staff their issues would have been resolved....its obvious the owner cares about the business, which is not always the case. Absolutely the kind of business consumers ought to support. Restaurants in particular have hit and miss days....but when the owner cares as much as this owner obviously does usually the hits far outnumber the misses.

This place does not look like much at all and even looks a little run down. Also I have to say that I did not have the buffet. What I can tell you it was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten and they're fresh cut french fries are excellent.

Just this week my bank account was over charged $134.00. My bill with tip came to $14.84 and I was charged $148.40. The owner has said she would refund my money but we will wait and see. It's hit or miss. The food was actually pretty good, but my wife had some "belly issues" all day after eating breakfast. There were dead flies all over our table. I enjoyed my meal but probably not enough to rush back anytime soon.

Apologies in advance for the length of this review but this is more for the Management than everyone else. Gave it another shot as was told "under new management". I really really want this place to be good as is the closest sit down to home and I as a rule prefer not to go to the chains but after the fifth try both breakfast and lunch... same old AWFUL. Will keep driving.Start on a positive, staff was very warm and friendly and they always have been, is why it gets two stars otherwise would be one or neg 1.Today, I had the buffet because that's all that was offered when I came in. Cheapest food with no taste other than the can or box it came from. Fake mashed and NASTY gravy that tasted like grease and pepper. Pot pie with cheap frozen veg, again tasteless. Fried chicken either cooked too hot or in old oil, looked burned and again no taste except oil. EVERYTHING on the buffet was terrible and prepared with the least amount of effort with no exceptions.Breakfast (a month ago) well lets just sum it up with the cheapest nasty powdered creamer, no half and half or even fake liquid creamer for the weak cheap coffee. Bacon that I am pretty sure they deep fried all of the flavor out of, grease stick. Omelet was fair but the cheese wasn't melted and had tasteless grease stick bacon crumbles. Better than lunch but it starts with decent coffee.Lastly, CLEAN THIS PLACE! Feel dirty just from sitting looking at the vents behind the counter, don't want to imagine what the kitchen looks like. Bathroom with sagging and falling in ceiling tiles and cracked up toilette, really? $300 bucks in repairs, some paint (and not by the same person who slopped the yellow all over the ceiling in the dining room) and some bleach would work wonders.Ownership is missing the boat, great location, plenty of space and good friendly waitstaff. Halfway there. CLEAN, raise your prices by 15% to hire a cook that didn't used to work at a prison (later learned wasn't the cooks fault could only prepare and season with ingredients that were purchased) and buy a little better quality products and seasoning other than pepper. Oh, and for the love of god throw away the powdered creamer. Try you again in six months if your still there. Do better!Update: Saw your FB closing announcement for OCT 9. Am sad y'all couldn't figure it out. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

The double cheeseburger was very delicious, but the fries were really dark and soggy even though they were fully cooked. Like the oil hadn't been filtered for a good while. I will be going back for the sandwiches, but I will not be getting any fried products from here.

Kristen Chess did tip the waitress, and wasn't rude at all. Just questioned the prices. Which you didn't do a good job at all of breaking down the menu. Very unprofessional to make comments out loud as someone leaves, there was also no apology given as none was needed. Refrain from attacking costumers, and focus on your business.

Heard a lot of good things about the cafe. I must have caught them on a bad day. Arrived at noon and the buffet was totally blown. 2 chicken legs and thighs left along with about 10 small squares of ham with pineapple. All veggies were down to the last 10 - 15 percent left in the trays. Dessert served was a small spoon of banana pudding. When I left nothing had been refilled. Price was $8 which included tea.Service was outstanding from the waitresses.Just no food for a lot of customers

Best hamburger around!! Huge,hand patted, always fresh lettuce & Tomato. Love their breakfast especially their homemade sage sausage! The BEST sage sausage in the world! Staffs always nice,friendly & fun. We stop here every chance we get😋😍Home cooking done RIGHT!!!!!!
