I like to support local but these folks have lost my business. I by pine pellets and a month ago I paid just under $8 went back to buy more and for the exact same product the changed the price to just under $15. When asked they claimed a new supplier but it was the same product and the bag was dirty and clearly old. It’s also become very difficult to get help to complete my purchase.Looks like online or to Tractor Supply for me. What a customer fail. Keep it up and you will no longer have customers in my opinion you should look for another location for your supplies.

I have been using Leigh Ann for over 20 years to groom my pets. She is excellent and very friendly to me and my pets. Would recommend her any day!

Used to get our dog food here, but no more. What happened to this place??There were mouse droppings and the smell of urine all around the bags of dog food and all over the floor. The employee up front was on her phone not doing anything. She should have been cleaning that nasty mess up. Looks like it had been there a good while too by the amount of droppings everywhere. Getting my dog food now from Tractor Supply, which is super clean inside. It’s too bad, because I’ve been going to Palmetto for the past 13 years and it has always been clean.

I love it here! I get mice from here once a week. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We share a laugh weekly.Update: I haven't been in a while but I came in to get dog food. I cancelled my subscription on Amazon and the dogs needed food. Only a few places in Sumter sell Victor and I'm just glad they had what I was looking for!

They always have friendly service and a lot to choose from for all our four-legged critters. They are always willing to help load the car with larger purchases. If they don't have what I need they offer a suitable replacement or offer to call when the item I need is available. I always shop local when I can and this is where I go.

Palmetto Farm Supply is great! I've taken my dog there for several years to be groomed and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately we had a pretty negative experience with one of the new groomers today. Upon picking our dog up the first time she didn't look as though she'd been groomed at all. The hair was left very uneven with patches of long hair throughout her coat. It almost looked like the clippers used were no good. We took her back up there for it to be fixed and though she looks better, I am not pleased. For the money we pay, I expect the same results I've gotten in the past. I desire the quality results I know they're capable of. I highly recommend Leanne, but can't vouch for any other groomers up there at this time.

Pleasantly surprised to even know that this place has been existing since 1923 in Sumter SC!!! I grew up in the small town of Rembert SC about fifteen miles away and never knew this place existed. I enjoyed shopping there and learning that even my mom worked at the Pigeon Farm!!! Exciting all-around...

Don't even deserve one star! Took my dog to be groomed there at 11 appointment at 5:45 still completely done. Shaved half his body did not finish the rest of his head. Fun-loving dog who loves everybody will not come to any of us now!

They carry the hay we need for our animals, but they have staff that is not knowledgeable regarding products. Staff is constantly changing. Store is not clean.

Thank God for these people; the store is also known as Southern States. And what a gem this place is!!! I went here when Tractor Supply didn't have what I needed, heartworm prevention (ivermectin) that I could use for my pot belly pig and my two dogs. They have everything Tractor Supply has and more. I think it is just a racket and totally wrong that you can't get Heartgaurd for your dogs without paying a small fortune between the annual exam to get the prescription and the Heartgaurd itself; ivermectin is the active ingredient. My uncle told me he used the one made for swine and cattle in smaller quantities (it's all based on weight anyway, and then use just a bit less than that) for his dogs for decades and then I had others tell me this too. I cannot afford the $300 it would have been to do it though the vet, but a can the $40 they charged me here. I didn't know about heartworms and my border collie got them, and had to be treated for $1000 (still paying off) but I was lucky my beagle-snoodle mix hadn't; heartworms are what kills many dogs. Carried by mosquitoes, if you live in the South, it's a major occurrence.

The people are always nice, prices are very reasonable... they'll even carry your dog food out to the car for you !!! this place is awesome and has a nice small town vibe to it as well.

Great store! Make sure to ask for quail and squab that they have frozen in the freezer. Never disappoints

I can get bird seed cheaper at Tractor Supply and also a bigger bag. But they do carry a good line of Horse Feed.
