I got two of my ferrets here about a month ago and they did come with a parasite thing and petco went over the top to take them to the vet and get them the care they deserved. I highly recommend this location. The employees are fantastic and communicated with me every step of the way. My fur babies and doing great and so much fun.

When we picked up our 2 little girls (27 lbs. and 29 lbs.) we were told that next month the rates were increasing again. The cost of dog grooming is getting ridiculous, especially for retired. Not only was there a base cost of $65/ dog, there were additional add on including $10 for clipping nails...It would have been another $5 or $10 if we wanted their nails trimmed instead of clipped...a brush out for tangles could have run another $10-$20, and if we had allowed them to put a bandana around their necks, it would cost another $10. When we looked at the bill we were charged 1.5 hours of labor time per dog for the basic cut, trim, and blow out. Since we didn't get ALL of the services, our bill for 2 dogs was only $158.00 and we had the work done on a Tuesday to take advantage of the military discount. If I had not stopped them at the time of drop off, these extra services could have been added on and out total bill for 2 little dogs would have been over $200. We were told to give the salon 4 hours but were called in 3. The extra time is probably for time the dogs might need for any delays encountered by the stylists. So we're paying $75/90 minutes of work for each dog...and you want to raise rates again in this economy? Are you nuts? The dog industry is ripping off retirees who are on a fixed income. Go ..... yourselves!

So I scheduled online and had bought a bath haircut package that included nail trim, tooth brushing etc. I have a big dog whom I constantly brush and take care of. Normally I pay around 100-110 this time I was charged 175 and each item was charged separately not as a package. The groomer was rude saying she was matted and had a lot of hair!! I have a deshedder which I use on her constantly and I brush her daily she’s never been matted. I would not take your dog here, these pets hate going in and fear the groomers! Way overpriced and rude

My local petco store is great, however, you never give me my points when I shop in the store and I'm sick of calling. I may switch to Friskies and buy it from amazon. In November I bought 3 litter refills and never got credit. I always have to call, and this time she wanted me to send her a copy of receipt. Well forget about it. I'm in my 70s and don't know how to do that. So I'm rethinking my choice of using Petco. But I love the manager and all the sales associates there. They are helpful and kind. Your end needs to get it together.

It's always a hassle to get service, but I suspect they just overwork the few employees that are there at any given time. We purchased a rodent and they advised us that if it displayed signs of "wet tail" ie, diarrhea, bring it back ASAP. Having never had an animal with that condition, or even heard of it, I didnt think much of it.That animal immediately showed signs of wet tail so we brought it back and got another, which immediately displayed the same symptoms. We've had many hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, and rats over the years and have never had one with this condition, aquired from anywhere, ever. It really seems to be a problem that the Summerville Petco needs to get a handle on. We were advised that since we got a refund on the first rodent, the second wouldn't come with any guarantees...maybe they should focus morn on supplying healthy animals so they dont have to go out of their way to belittle customers for trading in a creature they sold and obviously knew was ill for another that they knew was ill?!

They had bitter vet wrap when I needed more for my foster dog's hot spot. It's all that is working to keep her from chewing the spot.My only issue with this store is that I can never find an employee on the floor. You have to go up to the checkout counter to get any help. Idk if they are short-staffed or what but there should be employees on the floor. When I can find someone to help me find some they are very very helpful and the experience is nice, finding them is the only issue.

Horrible experience with grooming today. I have been taking my Yorkie here since he was born and today will be the last time he returns. I was advised that he needed his chest area to be trimmed in which I agreed. Then i was called because the level 5 that i wanted him shave they had to do a level 7 on his chest. I agreed and again said DO NOT CUT THE TOP OF HIS BODY. I made it clear! I come back to pick him up and my pups entire body was shaved all the way down to his skin. I was furious because I don't understand how can someone do the opposite of what was told and agreed upon.

DO NOT BUY any animals here. 1st off all reptiles are exhibiting RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS. Peggy THE animal care advocate has HAD 0 traing in any veterinarian feild AT all. I mean NONE. Their answer to fixing the issue is putting in the back for 2 days. These poor animals are all sick. Peggy u have no business caring for a life when u have 0 training. Russell was nice but again Petco buys all animals from one major breeder often arriving sick and instead of actually caring for these LIVES they just avoid the issue. Anyone with any veterinarian training can spot it a mile away. Shut petco DOWN. They dehydrate these guys hardly feed them and let them sit there or hope u bring it home so it can die there. Terrible. Peggy needs FITED because swveral animals in her care have died when a vet visit was absolutely warranted.

Usually I like to grab insects for my bearded dragon here but more than half of the roaches, worms and crickets were dried up and dead in each container. I’ve found other things here though, so maybe just grab bugs elsewhere lol

I normally do not write negative reviews; however, this is more than once that I went to pick up an online order that there is not anyone ever at the counter. I waited 10 mins and seen a lady talking to a customer and waited. I then asked her if anyone is working the counter and she cut her eyes and said she will get someone up there. I waited another 5 mins and went ahead and grabbed my order out of the bin. That is when someone finally emerged behind the door at the counter. If you are on a time limit, I suggest PetSmart if you want free merchandise Petco is the place.

Amazing!!!! We used the vetco for our puppy and they were awesome with her! She got a shot and didn’t even flinch. The doctor was so great! Staff was wonderful as well! She’s just hanging out now!

I was turn away for curbside pickup after u guys advertised it online . When i literally watched them bring a order out in the dark before i was pulling up a guy answered and said due to safety reasons we can bring online orders out when i was parked under the lights around 6pm ! Never will i shop there again

Always good with helpful employees. They carry a lot of foods and supplements that other pet supply stores do not. Overall a pleasant stop to make. Only reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars is that their sales have not been comparable to the other stores lately plus a lot of things out of stock - however, that does seem to be true for most places anymore! I will certainly keep shopping with them!
