Nikki was smiling and friendly and the food was delicious. I was there at 11 and there was no line but people began coming in right after my plate was prepared.A lot of soul food options for anyone craving southern home cooking food. The owner Red is cooking so you KNOW it's going to be on point. I got the Mac and cheese, green beans and collard greens. Was planned on getting cabbage but I forgot!Inside to the left is the restaurant seating and to the right is the convenient store side. There is music playing. A television in the corner.Huge shade tree in the parking lot with a picnic table under it. Some tables are also on the porch. Plenty of parkingExit 108 I-95 across from Loves Travel plaza makes in convenient to travels and truckers a like.

I grab my lunch there 2 to 3 times a week. Outstanding selection of home-cooked southern food. I'm never disappointed in the quality or the portions. Highly recommend whether you're a local or just passing through.

EXCELLENT FOOD!!! Believe me you can’t go wrong. Especially if you’re a truck driver, park your truck at the LOVES directly across the street and walk across. As truckers we don’t get very many home cooked meals on the road, don’t miss the rare opportunity.

I stopped at the loves to wait for a load and decided to go over and get me some southern cooking because I would pick a home cooked meal any day over fast food restaurants.As I was walking up, I smelled the food and instantly knew I found a good spot. The place was clean, well lit, and very welcoming. I didn't ask for the gentleman's name but he was polite and quick. I ordered the bbq ribs and got mac and cheese and yams as sides, saw how the plate looked, and decided to get another plate for later which was the fish with rice and mac and cheese as sides.I started with the bbq ribs, and it was delicious and soft. Bbq sauce had a nice kick to it, and the mac and cheese was delicious. The fish was my favorite. It was excellent, perfectly seasoned and freshly fried, and had a nice crunchy texture on the outside and softly tender on the inside. I definitely recommend this to anyone, especially truckers stopping by the Love's next door. Will definitely be back if I get the chance to visit the area again.

Yesterday afternoon was our first time to experience the food. The gentleman that served us was so friendly and helpful. He explained how the bar works and even went out to explain it to my husband. We ordered 2 dinner he had the meatloaf, I had the smothered pork chop,and our little Chihuahua daughter had a piece of baked chicken. Let me tell you there was so much food and it was excellent 👍👍👍 this is definitely our go to place!!!💕😊Thank you very much we will see you soon

All I can say is WOW! Amazing food! Collard greens were the best I’ve ever had in fact so good I went back in and got a extra side of them!!! Never mind the truck stop food! Take that short walk and I promise you will NOT be disappointed everything I had was fresh and delicious. The man who waited on me was very nice explaining all that he had! I believe he was the owner! To that I say very well done sir!! This is a hidden gem!! I will definitely be stopping by again!!

Thanks loads for not having correct hours on Google maps for your business.I read good reviews about your food and routed myself in my truck to take my break at Love's across from you. I passed up other options at exit 119.I arrived here before 19:00 on a Fri night (10/13) to find you CLOSED!!! Not Cool.

This place is terrific! The food is authentic Southern comfort food. We stopped here quite by accident and we’re really happy we did! Red is super nice and the kids loved the fried chicken. Adults had BBQ ribs and Jerk ribs and they were great. Sides are all wonderful. Definitely stop here!

I never get out of my truck to roam about, but after reading the reviews i had to try this spot. This man can cook his a$$ off!! I asked him if he wanted to get married but he didn't respond. LOL. Fried chicken, Mac and cheese, and yams were all on point. Will definitely be back!!!Update: I drove 50 miles off my route to come to Red’s and the doors are locked, the gates are closed and no one’s answering the phone. Posted hours say they close at 8pm. Hopefully everything’s alright but man and I disappointed🤦🏾‍♀️

Smelled good. But before we could get out of the truck to investigate, the owner came and told us to leave. We had stopped to feed the kids at the McDonald's across the street and were going to grab something for the adults there. But we were told to leave because we had food for the kids from somewhere else. Obviously they don't need the business.

This place is amazing!! Foreal, no joke you gotta stop here. The food is fantastic and Red is sweet, caring and inviting. We drive to and from North Carolina and Florida a lot for the past four years and I'm actually sad I just now discovered this spot. I have saved it on my maps and this will now be my stop to eat on my drive. There was locals there and people passing through and everyone was really friendly and was just amazed at how good the food was. Stop here and eat, trust me you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious! 4 of us happened across Red’s today, and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint! Collectively we had the fried chicken, jerk ribs, Mac & cheese, rice & gravy, and collards. Everything was homemade with incredible flavors. The jerk ribs stole the show, until I had the Mandarin cake.Make sure you give this place a try if you’re in the area, or passing through.

Hot fish, pork chops, and wings fresh made to order. On Saturdays they grill ribs, Jerk Chicken and Barbeque Chicken. The fresh carrot cake, red velvet, and pineapple crush cake are handmade and great. The owner and family gave great customer service. Definitely a nice place to eat!

We stopped in to check Red's out. Had take out before and was excellent. I did not go so went this time and ate there. Loved the place and food. Red was great to talk to. Since moving to Summerton I found a few good places to eat. Red's is at the along the top. Will be back.

The nicest guy you'll meet. Cornbread is amazing. All the food is great. We were going to stop at the gas station across the street. Don't. Lol. Supporting your local business. Again.. such a nice guy and makes you feel welcome. I'd ask for a job if we stayed in that state :)

We are locals and had not noticed that the location had reopened after 20 years empty. Was finding a new barber in Summerton SC , "Jerry's barber shop" and we came across his business listing for Summerton and the reviews from locals, truckers and travelers were all 5 stars. And now that we have had a good meal there, we also give him 5 stars. And he is just as down home with good personality as Jerry's barbershop. So it goes without saying "we'll be back.".Come to find out he grew up in our old neighborhood in Charleston SC. Stop in and you'll see what I'm talking about. And bring your appetite!
