David in electronics was extremely rude and dismissive to our needs. The epitome of a frustrated and miserable man operating as a customer service associate. The store certainly needs to do a better job in screening their applicants before allowing them to operate in any such capacity. Whatever the case may be, his bad day doesn't need to be anyone elses and it doesn't need to be displayed in an environment that requires you to provide a service to the general Public.A very helpful young lady team leader who is not assigned to electronics sensed our need for help since no one was present to assist in that department. She located David and directed his attention toward us and told him we've been waiting to have the secured cabinet unlocked to make a purchase. There was no line and only one other customer browsing the department. As he stood in front of us a customer had approached the register, he didn't say anything to us turned around and immediately started helping them, we were patient.Then a line began to form with about four or five people, some of them with carts loaded to the brim and David gladly checked them out even if they didn't need electronics. Frustrated, I approached him and he said I can get in line and wait like everybody else, I simply reminded him of the previous conversation and that he was 3 seconds from opening the cabinet for us when a customer showed up and he disregarded us. I wanted to know why I would need to wait in line when he knew we needed help and was literally called there to help us. He asked how he was supposed to know if we needed help if we didn't wait in line, I replied because the team-lead told him and now I'm asking again.He adamantly denied a team lead had ever told him we needed help of any sort. This is about 30 to 40 minutes in and we are getting very frustrated but staying patient, now looking for a manager of some sort to help expedite the situation. The line has grown to about 15 people all with cartloads of groceries, clothes etc, all being paid for at the only register opened in electronics.We were told that there are supposed to be 2 store managers and that none were present, we spoke with 3 separate associates who were all being very helpful and trying to get us what we need but did not have the power, authority, or resources to do so. They all seemed to non-verbally warrant the frustration with David and delicately approached. It seems he's a common denominator for contributing to problems.Finally the original team lead we had spoken with came back and could not believe that we were still standing there, now an hour and five minutes after we had a originally requested help.She circumvented the line and approached David and asked him to get his keys and unlock the cabinet as he was originally asked to do so. He threw his hands up in a fit of rage and was still reluctant to help, pointing at the huge line that he had that was not present when we initially started this chaotic escapade. He finally unlocked the cabinet for us and it was only then they opened a second register, still checking out massive cartloads of goods not related to the electronics department. Even then he wouldn't take us right to the register and we had to get our product and wait back in line to be checked out.Get some leadership presence, take the reins, and restore some accountability here please.
