I think it's the safest place around Sumter to shop. The place itself is quite clean but sadly it's not that big and not so much in there. But the good thing is we can still shop online through the Exchange official website and ship it there. The price is pretty much the same as other stores.

It's your average exchange. They have extremely limited stock, and everything is pretty pricy. I recommend doing your shopping at Target, Walmart, or using Amazon so you save money and find what you want. The plus side is that it's right on base, so it's more convenient than running all over.

This was my 1st trip to Shaw. I had to get my ID renewed, and it was such a painless process, compared to our local office (Spartanburg), which always says their system is down. 👎Loved the BX as well!

It was an awesome visit, and got my diabetes meds withing the hour. Was gona check the bx and the stores , but was felling sick. So I left in a hurry.

The store seems understocked for the amount of people that use the store. The meat department is great. And the cashiers are always nice.

This exchange is much bigger than when the exchange was located near the commissary. It has almost anything that other retail stores outside of post would have. You can buy kitchen items, pet food and items, electronics and even rifles. There is no sales tax, staff is well organized and friendly. The store is kept well, there is a gas station next to the main building.

Has a food court with Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, and BunD-healthy food. Burger King has a drive thru. Men's and women's multi-stall bathroom, and family bathroom with changing table. Ample seating with movable table and chairs to accommodate large groups. 3 or 4 Tvs above the main trash cans.Has the base satellite pharmacy, vitamin shop, Eyewear shop, Salon, with a couple of kiosks selling varies items. I believe a permanent Verizon kiosk.No barber shop here, it's located in bowing alley, airmen attic parking lot, near commissary.Inside the exchange itself is typical shopping sections. Women's, Children, and Men's section. Unisex changing area located in Women's area.Shoes , accessories, high end makeup, perfume and cologne jewelry, purses area.Electronic, housewear, greeting card and gifts, toiletries, snacks, some liquor Guns, outdoor, toys, garden, seasonal, and pet, cleaning supplies sections.Uniform shop in back by children's section.Has self checkout and regular checkout, customer service desk with tobacco products.Has 1 of 2 multi-pump gas stations on base with mini-shopette outside in parking lot.I believe outside main door is FedEx and UPS drop off boxes, may have DHL and US Post office drop boxes.

It's small selection but gets what you need done if you're scrambling last min for grocery shopping. Wish hours for the main store went later since work here on base runs late. Otherwise. Not so bad. There's deals.

Very clean and fully stocked. On a Sunday afternoon there are as many employees as customers because AAFES prices are as much or more than off base. We were just passing through the area, but if I lived there, I wouldn't go there unless I happened to already be on base.

I just had a pretty bad experience at the customer svs dept. I stood in line for 30 minutes as the next person to be served. The clerks were having problems with the person in front of me, then ended up calling people behind me in line to pick their stuff up. I explained mine had already been brought up from the back and it was sitting right on the counter. I ended up having to just put everything I had in my hands down and walk out of the store as my lunch was over. I recommend, especially during the Christmas season, having more than one person working customer service and to please serve people in the order they had been waiting. Taking people from behind me with no explanation was rude. And resulted in my wasting an entire trip for nothing.

It's sort of dreary shopping at the Exchange on post. It's no fault of their own, but the Covid atmosphere has really put a damper on the mood. It seems no matter how many shoppers, the mood seems somber. Nevertheless, the shopping items are on the shelves, and readily available. Come on out

Went with my daughter and had a fantastic time shopping for my birthday gift! It is a beautiful store, very neat, organized, clean, and well stocked. I was very pleasantly surprised! Loved the little vendor stores outside of it too!

The weapons counter receives high marks in my opinion. Sissy is very knowledgeable of all weapons and is always willing to assist. There was also another young lady, who processed my last purchase that was extremely helpful. Thanks to both ladies.

Clothes for kids seemed to be overpriced but I guess that's just the economy. Nice exchange however it's smaller compared to other bases I've been so inventory seems a bit low.

Although for most of their product line you can find better bargains off base. Years back the exchange was the best place to find good deals. Now I'm not sure how many people are looking for a $500 ladies purse! And sometimes the clerks who work there are foreign-born and they exchanged conversations only with others who speak their language and you feel you're interrupting their social activity till you realized they are being paid to work they are not always happy to stop their conversations.

Most of the associates have attitudes.. they never ask you if you need any help especially when looking for someone at the jewelry counter. The store hours suck. And the selection between clothes or anything useful other than a snack is poor. Too many people stationed here or retired to have a Bx this small.

The burger king is so hit and miss. If it doesn't take an hour, your order is likely to be messed up. If that's not the case it's 50/50 that the food will taste and feel fresh. The staff is kind and respectful.The subway is a mess usually and they don't give of reward subways token rewards program.The taco bell is the best, food is good and order is always correct.The hair place is so/so, these air force folk don't know how to properly do a high and tight. But neither does supercuts or great clips.The pharmacy is always crazy busy, i wonder what they give away free? :)

Rarely has what you wanted and the prices stay high and are never reduced. Employees are great and helpful, but unless you're looking for an expensive item that they happen to carry, you're better off going somewhere else.

Limited availability of items... Items usually costs more than what you can find on the internet, though there is no tax on purchases in the BX. However, you can still find items cheaper on-line even though there aren't any taxes paid.

Limited product selection when compared to Ft Jackson PX(40 minutes away). Great for end of the duty day stops for essentials. Will generally have what you NEED but misses slightly on WANTS.

Great shopping experience. I like to shop the exchange when I feel the the need to escape. I know that the crowd is small enough for me to take my time and look around and find all my favorite products.
