I am so disappointed in this store and will not return. I've always found them to be much more expensive than other pet stores, but sadly, they're the only large pet store in Clemson. They hide costs. I paid $33 to have my pup washed at Pet Smart just 3 weeks ago. I was given a price of $44 for the same service at Petco. Although much higher, I booked the appointment for convenience, since my pup had gotten really smelly after a romp at a wet dog park. When we got to our appointment, I was told they would add $1/min because he sheds, so I'd be better off paying for the deshedding package, which was $67 after taxes and fees; those fees were over $5. Naturally, I complained about the huge price hike and was agitated they hadn't mentioned any of this while booking the appointment. I did not cuss or yell. However, I left and came right back, explaining they had left me in a huge bind, but I would use them this last time. Instead, they called the manager over to tell me I made them uncomfortable, so they didn't want to do the job. This explained so much! It's really sad to see the lack of work ethic that exists these days, and I would bet any money those employees will be gone before the year's end, because they just don't want to do the work.

This location has a very rude female employee that works in the live pet section. I complained to the manager about her being rude and he said, “I can’t vouch for how she acted towards you because I wasn’t there.” Working with the public is not for everyone and she definitely doesn’t need to be working on the floor with her attitude. I will definitely be taking my business else where from here on out. I really expected better from Petco.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional customer service by Liz, and I wanted to take a moment to share my positive feedback. From start to finish, my interaction with her was nothing short of outstanding.Liz was incredibly knowledgeable about their products/services. They provided detailed information, answered all my questions, and offered helpful suggestions.Throughout our interactions, Liz was not only professional but also very friendly and courteous. Their positive attitude made the whole experience enjoyable.In conclusion, my experience with Liz service was truly outstanding. They set a high standard for responsiveness, knowledge, and overall customer care. The staff is very friendly, professional, and offers help in a number of ways. I came to look for a cat carrier and was much helped by the store manager on duty. She not only walked me over showing the way to the isles, but also helped assemble a hard carrier, which I appreciated.

Excellent cut and care in grooming my dog. She took extra care to make sure he was comfortable and said he seemed a little anxious but everything went well and he looked amazing

I am a regular client of petco. This is where I buy my dogs food and grooming products. I went in today about 4pm when Liz was at the register having some complications with another customer who told me I could go ahead of her. This customer stood to the side while I was checking out. I was on the phone when Liz asked for my number and I said “would you like for me to type it in” seeing as it was on the terminal in front of her and she said “I mean yeah sure” in a very rude way. So I did. She proceeded to walk around the other customer to scan the items in my cart and said to that customer “well I mean if you can’t stay off your phone long enough that’s a problem” I ignored it. I then told the person I was on the phone with “can you hold on a second because the lady checking me out is extremely rude” Liz then butted in again and said “I am not being rude and I am sorry if you feel that way” she scanned all my items and left them on the counter and I had a big bag of dog foot and 5 other items. I asked her if she could put them in a bag and she said no bags are 10 cents… I told her I would like a bag. Gave her 10 cents and handed me the bag and told me I could put my items in my bag.I then walked back in to return my buggy and get her name to leave this review and she was talking to the other customers about what just happened as well.I understand it’s hard to find good workers now a days but this was ridiculous and uncalled for. There is no reason any employee should ever act this way especially in front of customers. I own my own dog grooming business and would never allow an employee to act this way to customers! I am also not one to ever leave a bad review, I am a positive person and love leaving positive reviews but this hit me the wrong way and she does not deserve a job working with the public…

I left this store without a purchase and went to another store to find what I was looking for because they didn't have what I needed. Before I left I used the bathroom which I felt was disgusting and likely a place to pick up COVID-19 as you can tell it is not cleaned regularly. It definitely needs attention.

I came in from put of state and needed my 2 105lb & 115lb dogs bathed. I usually take them to a Petco in our state. The Lady who did them did a great job and told me they were fun to work with! One of my pups, Bella, gives lots of kisses! I wished I could remember her name but I'm bad with names sorry! We were visiting family so if we are in town again we will use them. Thanks ya'll!

I always love going to 5 below. Good prices on everything. U can find just about anything u want here from arts n crafts to earbuds to makeup n perfume to work our clothes to sports things de ovations candy doggy sweaters n has leashes doggie shoes. And guess what I start eork here Monday. Yay

Great experience getting our goldendoodle groomed here! Chelsea was absolutely fantastic! She took time to understand what we wanted when we dropped her off and she went above and beyond with the cut. When we picked up our dog it was clear that Chelsea treated her really well while she was there. It was the best haircut that our dog has gotten. Highly recommend!

This place must not like making sales.We went in today to purchase fish for my son's new tank, which he's had running for over two weeks now, anxiously awaiting being ready to add fish. While we were looking over the supply, two ladies came in wanting to purchase fish. The associate stood there and rejected every fish they wanted to purchase, rudely snapping at them with every fish they requested and every question they asked. The pair finally walked away, no fish.Having witnessed this I encouraged my son to look elsewhere because I knew what was going to happen... and she didn't prove me wrong.My son goes up front to ask for assistance (because heaven forbid an associate offer assistance to a customer who has been waiting in the same spot for 20 minutes!). The girl comes tromping and huffing down the aisle with an ill look on her face. My son, who mind you has done his research, tells the associate the 4 fish that he wants. This associate, as rudely as possible, does my son the same way she did the previous would-be fish buyers. "You can't have those fish together!" Fish that were literally in the same tank together in the store! My son asks if they are territorial. "Well, yeah." Again... these fish are in a tank with multiple others of the same breed and other breeds and are even identified on the tank as community fish. She proceeds to tell my son that he wanted too many fish for his tank. Again, he has done his research and I myself have raised fish for over 30 years, so we knew what our limits were. So my son says to let him have just one fish then. This lady has the nerve to then tell my son no, that his tank wasn't even big enough for one. He looks at her, jaw dropped, and says "Well then what fish CAN I put in my tank?" Her reply? "Well honestly, there's not really anything here you can put in your tank". Excuse me! You mean to stand there and tell us that there are NO fish you are willing to sell us for a 20 gal tank??? My son, rightfully irritated, informed her that he had raised the one specific fish in a tank half the size of his new one and the fish did very well.So, this chick, who I'm positive does not have a degree in marine biology and who only took the basic online fish care training if that, screwed this store out of not one but two sales in a matter of 20 minutes, and I can assure you that this family, who spends a LOT on pet related products, will not be returning to this location for any future purchases.To add further insult to injury, this associate had a very foul and insulting odor about her to the point my son became nauseated.I don't know what kind of business does everything possible to lose customers, but that's sure what happened today.

Petco in Clemson always seemed to be one of the nicer chain pet stores. I stopped in today to grab a few angelfish, tetras, and some frozen brine shrimp and they are now charging if you want them to put your stuff in a bag. Somewhere like Aldi can get away with that because they are so much cheaper than other stores but everything at Petco is more expensive than online and it just seems like they are trying to scrounge up a few more cents.

This was my first visit to Petco. The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. One young lady went out of her way to not only help me but also gave suggestions to purchase some items elsewhere because they did not have an item that was comparable to what I needed. I had a lot of things I needed help with and at no time did she make me feel like I was bothering her. She was very kind and patient. I was overwhelmed and she helped me to make the decisions that were best for my situation. The store was clean and well stocked. I will go back to this store and I recommend that anyone in need of pet items or information to go.

I just stood outside their store to use their wifi because my car wouldn't start and my phone died so I had to use wifi off a a tablet needless to say it was a terrible day but yeah I have no opinion of their business. Sorry, just being honest.

Didn't even get a chance to get my dog groomed. Booked everything online and went into detail on what I wanted done with my dog, her breed weight, etc. Got a phone call morning of to go over some questions. Told me I booked the appt wrong online and it would be a different price. It jumped up $35 + because supposedly I booked she was short-haired. Why would a short-haired need a haircut, hello???? Very rude and unprofessional, seems like they don't want to do their job!!!

I gave 4stars reason being… they as most places now keep very minimal stock in most inventory areas. I traveled to this location twice in a two week period looking for certain fish. The first time I asked about them and they said would have this time next week and will make sure to have those in just come back so I did. Still no fish I wanted I am not going to say what’s kind but they are a very common fish that all pet stores usually carry. Moving on..! So I went to a mom an pop pet store guess what they had both types I wanted and all the accessories I needed. My advice for these major pet stores is keep up with what you say you have stock regularly cause the smaller mom pop places just may put y’all out of business this time

We were mostly there this time to allow our daughter (17) to look around. Being Christmas time, many animals had been sold, but enjoyed what was there, and she got into a great conversation with a young lady who worked there about specifics of many of the animals. Was a lot of fun!

This is where we come to get our fish and fish supplies. There are other options in town but for anything fish related this is the best. The fishkeepers here actually care about the fish and ensure that the tanks are clean. If are looking to go somewhere where people actually care about the pets living in the store before they find a home, you should shop here!

I was looking for help on how I could help my dog from being so nervous during storms. The salesperson on the floor was very helpful in explaining the different solutions I could use with my pets fears. She also told me that if I was not 100% happy with the product I could just bring it back. I was very pleased with her assistance and I will definitely go back to this store for my dogs needs.

Came to purchase a kitten. Plenty of kittens there but apparently no one there that could sell me one and on top of that I gotta do more paper work and approval than I nhad to do to purchase a firearm. Everyone acts like they desperately need ppl to adopt but you make it way to hard and inconvenient to do so. Will be going to animal shelter much easier to pick a cat and adopt it in person than online and via text msg which was the case at your store.
