This resort has a nice sized pool and hotub outdoors. The rooms were big and super clean and comfortable. We stayed here for a wedding and it was very well kept and high quality. In order to take the hotel elevator you need to swipe your hotel key (I think this is a safety thing). The brunch is offered from 10-2PM so if you want to eat breakfast before 10 you will need to go elsewhere like Waffle House that’s nearby. I wish that the pool and hot tub were open after sunlight but I think it’s a liability thing. The restaurant and bar in the hotel close fairly early even on weekends, I think they would make more money if they stayed open later. As for the room cleaning, they gave us fresh towels and cleaned our garbage pails but they didn’t make our bed (I’m assuming maybe they only do that once you leave the hotel and checkout last day). I didn’t like that we weren’t able to check in early or check out late (I think this is due to the hotel being completely booked a majority of the time). But the price was great it was about $110 a night (not sure what normal prices are in SC but in NY that’s cheap). It also had a 24 hour gym which was awesome. I would definitely stay here again if I happened to be in the area but it’s pretty far from local things.

Our family recently moved to S.C. from the Seattle area and had not made plans yet for our Special Easter dinner. We were SO thankful to find a buffet at Lakeside Lodge! They squeezed us in, and we were not disappointed! Not our usual 'N.W. Coastal specialties,' but a beautiful spread of excellently prepared and presented Southern fare! Next time we will choose to sit outside, lakeside, since the bar social life was a bit closer than we like. Great selection and service! Pricey, but well worth the bountiful, and delicious selections! Thank you!

Went to eat at the restaurant. Looks like a wonderful place to stay though. Went for brunch and had the Eggs Benedict and it was delicious! Others at the table had burgers and chicken salad. All were delicious. I ordered orange juice without ice, but I didn't know it would be warm. Service was a little slow for us, but I would give it 4+ stars if I could. Definitely will go back!Nearby activities: Clemson/Oconee line... so much activity and right outside Clemson University.Safety: Good location.Food & drinks: Delicious! Our neighbors go there periodically.

Booked for the night of our wedding. While the room was large and overall pretty, we were really disappointed in the view (we paid for the lakeside view) and the cleanliness of the room (dead insects/flies in the window sill and on the clock, dust bunnies and cob webs in the room, shower drain knocked off and mildew exposed). Due to this being for such a special night, which the hotel was aware of, and the price of the room, we really expected better from this hotel.Edit to add: When we checked in, we were told there was another wedding and they had a lot of guests. It was also late and took a while just to get an item delivered to the room that the room didn’t have. We were exhausted. The hotel never offered any compensation and only “apologized” via the review.

Just there for a late lunch. Lovely environment, attentive staff. The service, appetizer and drinks were excellent. We'll be going back in the future.Food & drinks: Everything was terrific! We have been wanting to go for a nosh & a cocktail. They allow dogs outside on a section of the deck.

I was here at Clemson for 4 days on business. This place was great. I would enjoy staying longer. My room (standard?) had a nice and well equipped kitchen. Place was conveniently located near an Aldi where I could have purchased food to cook instead of eating out. The staff were the best. Genuinely nice and accommodating. They seemed to get to know you quickly and were happy to help. I would definitely stay here again if circumstances allowed.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying here for almost a month. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, even at the restaurant. We felt 10000% safe and want to thank you guys for that! Thank you front desk, cleaning ladies, grounds keepers and everyone for making our stay very welcoming. We would definitely recommend!Safety: I was with my 1 yr. Old alone most days and felt very safe. He loved the staff actually!

I read a review before we stayed there that stated it was a weekend getaway for the locals and it is. Friday when we checked in we were treated like gold. We had 2 rooms. 2 dogs. I was told that you could only smoke in your car and nowhere on the property even though the workers smoke right by the trash bin 200 ft from the door. The pool is only open from dusk until dawn even though it was 110⁰. Saturday, pool is open bar is open, towels available. Come Monday, it's dead can't find anyone, have to ask for towels to be opened by the pool area. It also requests that you shower before hand, but there are no showers in the pool area. There is no laundry facility on site. The food is delicious, but ridiculously expensive. There is no breakfast during the week only brunch on the weekends. You can only get fresh room towels if the person delivering towels is on the grounds. There were still coffee grounds in my coffee maker that takes packets. I would have rather stayed at the Best Western Plus up the street. Yes the resort looks out over the lake, but it is next to an outlet shopping area. We will not stay there again.Rooms: Double queen with fridge but no microwaveDbl queen kitchen with balcony, nice but only 2 chairs to sit in.

Our family and friends stayed at the Lakeside Lodge during our son's wedding weekend. Jefferson and the whole staff were so friendly and helpful. They made sure we had the right rooms blocked for our guests and the right rooms reserved. The rooms were wonderful. The suites were so nice for family and friends to visit and get ready for the events of the weekend. Great location with shopping and restaurants right beside the Lodge. The Lodge restaurant's food was great.

We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner at this lodge. The food was incredible, and the service was excellent. We were very pleased with how everything went from first conversation to make reservations to walking out the door when the event was over.Food & drinks: Outstanding catered food and wonderful service.

Not customer service friendly at all. Booked a room to visit my daughter for her birthday and ended up sick. I tried to cancel or even see if I could get a raincheck for another date and they would not work with me at all. Make sure you get the insurance if you are staying here. They charged me the full amount. They won't be getting my business for the next 4 years that my daughter is there.

Bit of an odd location to get into but the place is nice and clean. The room was fine except the door latch wouldn't close and you can hear people walk around and door slams. I find it amazing that they built the floors the way they did and at minimum put soft door closers in a place that has an opportunity to be amazing.Nice place, nice staff. If you're a deep sleeper, this is a great place. Otherwise be prepared to wake to your neighbors going to the bathroom or rolling in late at night.

Lakeside lodge is beautiful! We were in a king suite and it accommodated our family adequately. The suite had a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was great. If you are looking for a bigger space close to campus this is a great choice. The only downside was the air conditioning was a little tricky.

This was a lovely hotel with a beautiful room and a big fluffy bed. Outside facilities were enjoyable with great views of the lake, a nice fire pit and the pool and jacuzzi were clean and kept at just the right temperature. The staff was friendly and I had a delicious breakfast in the restaurant. Community areas were available and the surrounding area was plentiful with stores, groceries and other businesses. Check in and out was quick and easy and the front desk was staffed 24/7.Rooms: There was a grocery store and a cookie store nearby as well as a gem museumSafety: Felt very safe

The location is beautiful! The rooms are well kept by house keeping. The bar and resturaunt staff were all friendly and smiles. The staff from the GM "Echo" down to her front desk staff leave you with a much different experince. The front desk staff doesn't listen they argue with you Echo also argues with you no smiles it would be a have been a much better experience had there been a friendly staff at the front desk or even when you call room service they were all very rude

If you like cob webs all over the ceilings, rude staff, AC thats luke warm, and half the lights don't work... this is the place for you. And the icing to this cake is they had some sort of concert right outside our room with a bunch of half drunk screaming people so we couldn't sleep or watch TV. Truly regret staying here.Oh. And two of the security doors that are intended to keep out people that don't belong in the hotel wouldn't lock properly and could be opened without a card. I literally kept my firearm on me at all times and wouldn't allow my wife to go outside un-escorted.

The room was very nice and clean! Very comfortable bed. The location is in close vicinity to shops, a grocery store, even Starbucks within Hartwell Village. However, there is a loud train that passes through multiple times a day.The reason for 2 stars—the shower area. I’m not sure if all of the rooms at this hotel are set up this way but the shower stall doesn’t properly drain water with the way it’s designed. It is pretty—it has two separate shower heads and has a wooden seat that folds up but it isn’t functional as there isn’t anything keeping the water inside of the shower because it’s completely flat with the rest of the bathroom floor…no shower doors or a lip in the stall, only a shower curtain and a drain in the middle, therefore making a big mess after taking a shower. Not only is it inconvenient, it’s also dangerous as someone could easily slip and fall if they aren’t careful. The owners should definitely fix this issue.

Front desk staff was not very friendly. We were traveling with family friends and both booked our rooms months in advance asking to be placed near each other. My friend even called the day before reminding them that we wanted to be close. We were not only placed away from each other but in different buildings. There was no microwave in our room which was a disappointment. There is no access to ice machines. If you want ice, you have to go to the front desk and they will give you a bucket of ice. The facility is very nice and the room was very nicely decorated and very clean. We ate in the restaurant and had excellent service and the food was very good. There is a very nice outdoor area with a pool, fire pit and even an outdoor amphitheater. There is shopping and dining within walking distance.

The front desk didn’t seem too confident nor very welcoming; just wanted to check you in and be done. The room was nice. But the lake view was barely visible from the room that we stayed in. It felt like living in very thin walled apartments. You could hear everyone and everything around you; people upstairs stomping, other people next to you just having a simple conversation, and the doors slamming in the hallways.I payed about $170 for one night. In my honest opinion, it wasn’t really worth it. Not a bad place, but not the greatest for the price.
