Quiet and serene atmosphere. The hospitality and friendliness around the campground from owner and long term residents was great. It's 10 minutes from Lake Jocasse (well worth seeing) so you don't have to deal with much state park traffic. Charlie gave us info for motocross track with some great jumps and track areas for all levels of riding. It was only a 30 min drive and an awesome experience. For a privately owned campground The Dove has the feel of a natural state park area with trees and shade, birds chirping, nice sunrise. The Dove has restrooms, propane, ice, no showers but full hookups for camper.Charlie will make you feel at home and may even guide you to some local hot spot trout fishing holes if your nice. We will definitely come back to "The Dove". Thanks Charlie it was a pleasure.

The most at home stay in upper state SC, quiet and laidback. Charlie was the most accommodating and friendliest host I have encountered so far! I felt like the most unlucky camper when I unexpectedly encountered issues with my camper, but I received much needed help and guidance from him and other campground residents to come to a resolution. Beautiful places to explore within close proximity. 10 out of 10 would recommend. ☺️

Absolutely great and quiet stay! My family and I truly enjoyed the atmosphere of lonesome dove. I stayed here for a work trip but I will be back to stay for vacation. The way the gentleman runs the places is very professional and personable.Dog-friendliness: When I’m on the road working I bring my boys (my dogs) being able to have them is amazing and finding such a amazing campground that accepts pets was amazing

We just returned from a long weekend at Lonesome Dove. Quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay and felt like we were the only ones there. We had our pick of the shadiest spots. Lots of things to do in the area- Whitewater Falls is just up the road and Cashiers and Highlands, NC are less than an hour away. Jocassee Valley Brewing is less than three minutes away. Since the Tipsy Gypsy Tavern was closed, we went to JVB twice for the live music. AT&T cell signal was very good. Was able to watch the Braves game on our YouTubeTV account. Thanks, Charlie!Dog-friendliness: Our dog was the only dog there. No issues at all. We kept her on a leash when we were outside the camper. Obviously, we cleaned up after her.

We enjoyed staying at Lonesome Dove. The park is small and very pleasant. Charlie, the owner, was wonderful and extremely helpful, giving us ideas of the areas attractions. We spent most of our stay visiting the area attractions and loved it.

We were scheduled to come into this park for a month to have time to thru-hike the Foothills Trail. We had a medical emergency occur and had to cancel our trip 5 days before our arrival. Charlie was so understanding - he immediately put in for a refund and kept in touch with us to make sure we received it! He made an already stressful situation for us so much easier. We will definitely reschedule a stay at this park. THANK YOU, CHARLIE!!

We spent a few weeks and loved the camp ground. Management was helpful and made us feel at home. It's just far enough off the beaten path to be peaceful and yet lots to do in the outdoors. We will be back and would recommend the Campground to anyone looking for a great location away from home.

I’ve been here about two months now and it has been a great experience. The owner is a very knowledgeable and kind guy. They offer full hookups, propane, laundry, fire wood, and ice.The campground is dog-friendly, which is nice. And I was able to pick which spot I wanted, so I got a nice shady spot. It’s such a friendly environment and a quiet, beautiful area. Everyone I have met here has been very kind and helpful. The campground is in a great location, about 10 minutes from Devils Fork state park and around 30 minutes from multiple beautiful hikes and waterfalls. Absolutely love this place and hope to come back soon!

We had a truly enjoyable week here. Charlie was very friendly and accommodating! Very quiet and peaceful. One of the quietest and most private campgrounds we have visited. Good Verizon service. Charlie delivered firewood to campsite for us. He also kept in touch to make sure we had everything we needed. Loved the site at the top of the hill. Will definitely return and highly recommend!

Charlie and his son were the most helpful, kind and polite people you will meet. They were even so kind to haul away our awning that was totally destroyed in a storm. Small, quaint campground that was perfect for us. Not a bunch of bells and whistles that we don't need and don't want to pay for, just camping and kind people. Wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely return. Thanks for your hospitality. Oh they also let us pick a site that was a bit more private for my dogs.

Great place to stay for a few nights or a few months. Owner operator business so they're very attentive but give you privacy, and they're willing to do whatever they can to make you happy . Full hookups. All amenities are covered. Propane on site. Great quality water and pressure. No muddy roads. Off the highway so it's quiet . Close to Lake Jocasee and Keowee. I highly recommend it!!

This place is a most stay at campground. We really enjoyed our time there. Charlie was very nice and very helpful. He even let us pick our own spot. We were looking for a long term campground to stay at while we are looking to purchase a home in the Greenville area and I believe we have found it. We can't wait to start our long term stay.

I just happened to stumble upon this RV park and am I glad I did. We've been traveling full time for 3 years and this is my favorite privately owned park. It's small, quiet and has all the amenities you need, propane, laundry, full hook ups and shade! The owner, Charlie, is the nicest guy you've ever met. He'll go out of his way to make sure you are a happy camper! The park is conveniently located close to tons of hiking and waterfalls. I can't recommend this place enough.

LOVE this campground! It's small and quiet. We have full hook ups, Starlink works great and there is cell. Charlie, the owner is amazing. Very friendly and will help you any way he can. There is laundry and a cute little tavern, the Typsy Gypsy, that is open on Fridays. We are staying for 2 months to check out the beautiful area. Hope to be back! Highly recommend this place!

We LOVED camping at Lonesome Dove. So sad that we could only stay for the weekend. Charlie was very welcoming and made sure that we had everything that we needed. We arrived on a Friday and got to hang out with some of the long termers around the campfire. Spent Saturday chasing waterfalls and hiking. All the campers were super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back!

My husband and I travel for work and stay at a lot of campgrounds. We plan on staying at Lonesome Dove campground for approximately 3 months. So far, our expectations of this newer campground have been exceeded. The owners/staff are kind and friendly. They welcome you as if you are family. We have had all of our needs met. From propane to a night out, (the Tipsy Gypsy),this campground has you covered. If you are looking for a quiet place to rest, this is it! Charlie and his family will welcome you here!

My husband and I came across this campground for a quick getaway to the area. What a great find and awesome experience. As already has been said several times, the owners and their family are very kind and personable as well as helpful in many ways. They knew the area very well and was helpful in planning our exploring the beautiful and at times breathtaking sites in this part of South Carolina.Definitely a go to over and over. It is a short trip for a long weekend! The campground is very clean and well kept. Looking forward to seeing all the work and wonderful plans they have for this campground!!!R/L.LARGENT

This is a great community with many friendly people. They invited me and my wife in and we love being at the campground. Lots of laughs. The campground is very clean and family friendly. Being that it is still new Charlie has been hard at work expanding and bringing even more perks to the community. We are excited to see and enjoy the new amenities to come!

Lonesome Dove Campground is a family friendly RV park. It's brand new and kept very clean. We've stayed here for two months and have enjoyed our time here. With only being 30 minutes from cashiers NC, it's the perfect location. Day trips into the mountains to hike and see waterfalls are a must. The owner and his family are very welcoming and friendly. You can tell they work hard and take pride in their work. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a place to stay.
