When my wife worked here as manager. Ashley was a total POS towards her. The entire town of Salem can all agree my wife kept the store nice, clean and well stocked. Unfortunately no one wants to work, and everyone feels entitled. The stress from upper management was too much so she left. She makes more now, with less stress working at Riley's.

Very disappointed in our local DG store. I was in the check out line with my 2 year old daughter today and she was looking at some of the nail polish on a stand and had picked some of them up and put them back. One of the ladies working nearby made the comment to us that those nail polishes had numbers on them and that she was messing them all up. I politely told her they were messed up before my daughter had ever touched them. Very unprofessional and poor customer service. The store is always crowded with stock in the aisles to where you can't look at items and the store is very dirty and needs a good cleaning. Its such a shame that our small town can't have a better managed and more professional establishment than this.

This is the cleanest dollar general I have ever been in. It isn't actually outrageously expensive, and the aisles aren't cluttered with boxes or carts for said boxes. It's well-maintained with friendly and helpful staff. Definitely the best Dollar General I've found

It's nice to have a dollar store out in the boondocks, but... Plan for long lines, it takes forever to find an employee if u need help or are ready to checkout. The staff is friendly, however they carry on conversation with ppl that add to your wait. Today the cashier continued to have a very lengthy conversation with a man, I had to ask several times to be checked out. Then she moved away from the cash register to continue the conversation, even leaned over to whisper in his ear, and give him a hug. I felt rude when I tapped on the counter ask again if she could ring me up. So self checkouts would be perfect for this place.

Great place to buy stuff at simply $1. Don't count on anything lasting the test of time, but if you're looking for cheap dispensable items this is the place. Store does leave some to be desired in cleanliness and customer service but it's also all part of the package

I called this store, asked if they had bagged sugar, lady said "yes" drove to store, no bagged sugar, 1round plastic container of sugar, asked for. if she had any sugar in the back, stated "we have not been shipped sugar in 3 weeks. Told cashier, of anyone calls you have no sugar, mgr. said we carry sugar, I said yes but you don't have any now. Mgr. walked out.. sorry I bought the sugar at all. Won't go back!

Id give them a higher rating, however their store is like most DG a little crowded especially on truck days. Like some of the DG this seemed for the most part better organized and the things on the last chance isle were priced. The reason i give them such a low rating is because i bought 2 2 pack D batteries and got them home and they were dead as a nail. I tried to return and exchange them friday the very next day with the receipt and was told i would have to come back monday to speak with the GM because i may have just took the batteries out and put dead ones in there. Now let me state that i donot personalmy have a vehicle and anyone from around here the normal gas for the 8 miles i am from the store is doubled due to the hills and curves. So to the rude unthoughtful DG employees thanks for not only wasting more of my time but money as well over dead batteries that were sold to me i got better things to do with my time than to get over on u for $9

Great shopping experience. I had no trouble finding what I was looking for.The store was very clean and we'll organised. The cashier was very friendly and ask if I had found everything I was looking for.Will definitely be going back

Dropped a Star! I was shopping for something specific and saw the shelf said Barilla Pasta BOGO 16 oz but when I we to checkout it didn’t ring up that way! I told the kid the shelf said Buy One Get One! He went back and checked I guess his manager said it had ended Today? And they forgot to take the sign down he refused to give me the posted deal and I had to tell him to take them off! He wasted my time and all the people behind me and he didn’t do the right thing! This is a first no other store has refused to make good on a mistake like this! It was only $1.49! But it’s the principle behind it! If you shop here bring a magnifying glass and read all the fine print on the shelf tags to make sure they aren’t trying to bait and switch you like this! It’s false advertising to have a sign up like this and not make good on it not everyone is going to make sure they get the discount they were expecting and wind up getting burned! Accidental or intentional doesn’t matter! It’s the only store in town maybe that’s why they don’t care? The first time I was in there they had no milk at all and couldn’t explain why? I guess I just wait till I’m in Walhalla or Seneca to get what I need!

Staff is very helpful, variety of necessary products for the area. Everytjing was reasonably priced and the store was a might bit cluttered. Definitely cpuld have been of lower quality.... So all on all I was impressed.

The staff here is always super friendly and nice and the new upgrade is great just sometimes you have to wait for another cashier to help when their is a line.

They open whenever they want and close whenever they want. Never when the normal business hour are posted. They need a new store manager to get this place under control! Waited outside for 20 minutes past the posted time to open to get meds for a sick kid and still not open!

Decent prices, just needs consistent cleaning for real even the small yellow baskets please and please put out some clean wipes for people to wipe the handles down you can afford to do that for the public that comes in and gives you business :-)✌

If it weren't for the Dollar General, I'd have to put on real pants and go to Walmart.Also, hit the shelves at the end of a season and stock up on home decor for ridiculously cheap.
