Stopped for lunch on a Saturday after touring the National Park. They were only doing breakfast menu which was communicated up front as a Saturday thing. I like breakfast food so I could live with that. I ordered shrimp and grits which they didn't have all the ingredients to make. The combo of limited menu and lack of first choice cost them a star. I settled for the farmers omelet, bacon, sausage, potatoes with a little scallion garnish. It was a good omelet, well constructed with generous filling. Actually my favorite was the grits. They were a bit more coarse than most, nice thick consistency and a little pat of butter made them awesome. The lady who was my server was pleasant and checked in often enough.

We are visiting from the upstate and gave Meal on the Hill a chance. Coming from a place full of restaurants my expectations are very high. When we entered we were met by the head chef/ co-owner with a genuine greeting. Once our temperatures were taken and sanitizer was offered we made our way to a clean stocked table of our choice. I had the hillbilly burger with fries. It was a big burger with plenty o' stuff on it. My husband had the special; Salmon on a bed of jasmine rice with a corn/vegetable mix for both color and texture. Both were great and to see an elevated dish like the salmon was a great treat. Please if you are in the area give them a try. The food and definitely the service will make you come back.

During a tennis rainout at Lander University nearby, we drove here to see the Ninety-Six battlefield on Father's Day. We entered and accepted hand sanitizer and there were 3 meals to choose from for Father's Day for a reasonable price including steak, flounder, and lemon chicken with great sides including zucchini, baked potatoes, green beans, and Mac and Cheese. Also included cake and drink. Wonderful service and experience!

Even though the coffee maker broke just before we arrived, the food here was amazing. The beautiful couple running the place made us feel at home and served one of the best omelettes we've had in a long time. We will definitely be returning when we go back to Ninety Six.

Wow, what a gem! It’s so easy to skip over Ninety-six, but if you’re ever in town, or a surrounding city looking for an authentic, southern cooked meal that feels like you’re dining with family…then look no further!!On this particular day, I had the flounder sandwich (American bun, flounder filet, lettuce, tomato, onion, tartar sauce) with a side of crispy, seasoned fries and the blueberry stuffed French toast with FRESH blueberry compote and home whipped cream!I 10/10 WOULD recommend!! From customer service, atmosphere, presentation and quality, this is the best bang for your buck.Whether you’re looking for brunch, a satisfying dinner after Sunday service, or a juicy flame-grilled burger after a game, Meal on the Hill should be your #1 home cooked meal destination.

Just left this little gem! Great little location and fantastic food. We ate the hot dog special with chili, onions and slaw. French fries were seasoned to perfection! Had the soup of the day (loaded baked potato soup) which was also delicious!I can’t write this without noting the personalities of the owner/staff. We walked in 45 minutes before closing with a party of 5. We were greeted with smiling faces and a warm welcome. We did not feel rushed and enjoyed our food comfortably.Prices were extremely reasonably and we left more than satiated. Can’t wait to to visit again!

We stopped in for lunch the other day spur of the moment. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Co-owner/Chef Michael, who had a big welcoming smile & who took excellent care of us. My wife had the fried Flounder sandwich and I had the Turkey Club sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious & the service was even better! As a special treat for dessert, we shared the Blueberry Stuffed French Toast...Amazing!! As we were leaving, we also had the opportunity to meet Michael's wife & Co-owner Faith. She was very sweet & it's obvious this lovely couple truly cares about their customers. We're so happy we stopped into this little restaurant & we'll definitely return next time we're in Ninety Six!!Mike & Jodie

Absolutely a wonderful Friday night, date night meal!!! Spot on shrimp and grits!! Meal on the Hill appears to be a jewel in the rough. We were the only couple there at 7pm on a Friday. Great menu to choose from. Everything looks to be cooked to order. Very friendly staff. If you have never eaten here, you need to give it a try. As good as the food is here, there should be a line waiting to get in. Also, the pricing is very reasonable. 5 out of 5 🌟 stars. We will be back with friends intow to share this with!!!

Food was extremely over seasoned. Portions were very small. Too much cheese in the macaroni pie. Broccoli casserole had way too much cheese as well and had only specks of broccoli stems. Meatloaf texture was good but again extremely over seasoned.Found two large pieces of fat back in my black eyed peas and only had about about a tablespoon of black eyed peas to eat after removing them. We had to give the food to the dog because we could not get past all seasoning.Had high expectations for Meal On The Hill, but with our experience, we won’t be back.

First visit for a late breakfast. We were cordially greeted and seated and ordered a basic bacon, egg, home fries, biscuit and a side of sausage gravy.Every item was excellent, both in quantity and in flavor.I think the home fries would qualify as the best ever. The reason for 4 stars is because the silverware was cheap plastic junk like the kind packed with a burger to go.Otherwise this is a big two thumbs up for breakfast around the lake.

If you are looking for an amazing breakfast, go try to the stuffed french toast. The owners are also some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Go eat at the hidden gem in Ninety Six

Some of the vegetables were inedible. The rice was no where near done. I choked on it and went to the bathroom to not make a big scene. The dressing was full of sage that all you could taste. However we will be back to eat again

Fries were too hard, burgers didn't really have flavor, waitress never smiled. All that, and it cost like $20 just for 2 burgers and 2 drinks. I was definitely disappointed, being we just moved so close, we would have become frequent customers.

There are very few times in my life when I've been treated with this much disrespect. The waitress was lethargic and treated me as if I burdened her by asking her to take my order. The cook gave me a very foul look the entire time while he prepared my meal. Then slammed my food on the waitresses counter when he was finished. Finally the waitress bagged my food and didn't have the common decency to hand it to me but walked away with it just sitting on the counter without any acknowledgment. This was the most strange experience I've ever had at a restaurant.

I had a burger it was dry the waitresses was unprofessional my sister had hotdog plate the fries was cold she said they chilly was awful at least the tea was cold SMH a waste of a driveOh yeah we came there and ate almost a year agoAnd with your comment that's exactly why you loose customersYou and your staff were awful we saw a waitress slam a customer food on counter after the cook gave it to her looking at everyone rolling there eyes SMH do better like we said at least the tea was cold
