North Myrtle Humane is absolutely fantastic! We adopted our cat from there about a little more than a week ago after seeing her at petsmart. The staff was super helpful, involved, and caring. They also gave us lots of advice and were helpful bridging the gap between pet smart and their home base. When we received her she was friendly, settled in almost immediately, and in excellent health according to the vet . They also do a great job at checking in to see how the animal is settling in post adoption. This organization cares about their animals and it truly shows! If you’re looking for a pet I can’t recommend them enough.

We adopted our new family member here, a 2 year old cat.The folks here really care about the pets in their care.Like any other shelter, they are in need of supplies and support.I would strongly recommend visiting their website when in search of a new pet. There are plenty of little ones here that need a loving home. You won't regret it.

I hate leaving a poor review on a humane society but the staff that my husband and I encounter with today were down right horrendous. The lady at the desk was kind and the boy that showed us to what we was hoping to be our new forever cat was great but the other two older females were absolutely rude and hateful for absolutely no reason. We were told by a gentleman yesterday to bring our children to meet said cat and we could play with said cat for an hour to get to know her. So we did, and the staff I could tell were very annoyed and hated every second of us being there. We tried to play with the cat, hold her and show affection and we got yelled at after being told it was ok. I believe the gentleman I talked to yesterday was not there today or this may have been a different review. I really hope that beautiful cat we wanted so bad but was told “our loud environment may not be a good idea.” referring to my kids even tho the cat loved on my children, gets out alive and to a loving home. I know our home is full of love and we would’ve loved that little beauty until the end of time. Shame on you Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach.

I helped my sister pick up her new cat, Missy. The was a wonderful experience. We also dropped off some donations. It was all I could do to leave without taking home a few extra cats. Great experience

North Myrtle Beach Humane Society was wonderful. We adopted Freddy a few weeks ago and he has been a great addition to our family. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. They take the time to make sure they place these fur babies with the correct families and don't just send them out into the world. We had a great meet and greet with Freddy and our Peanut.Peanut was shy at first in the meet and greet but once home these two are inseparable. We now have a complete family.Thank you so much.We even donated a 35 pound bag of Iams puppy food yesterday to show our gratitude. You guys make a difference in all the wonderful pets lives.

Guy with long hair and tats was the most helpful and informative employee. He really cares about those animals. My mom found her a beautiful kitty to rescue and call her own.

We were on vacation and went to pet the cats, the staff is great and they have plenty of souvenir shirts if you want a way to donate and take something home.

We adopted Jax aka Panda three weeks ago. He is very happy in his new home and loves his new family. He has even had a weeks vacation in NJ. Jax loved the 12 hour ride to NJ and back. He is a good boy.

We have adopted three cats from the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. They take excellent care of the animals there, and the place is always clean and smells good. The cats are loving and well cared for. The people who work there are so nice to deal with and work hard to make sure that the animals and the families are good fits for each other. We have been so pleased with the new additions to our family from the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach

I adopted a kitten here and now volunteer on weekends. I invite everyone to come and volunteer, give dry food and other supplies but most importantly come adopt one of these lovely pets❤️

Highly recommend this amazing place!! Very sweet and kind staff, the adoption process is quick and easy! All the ladies were smiling and you could tell they were very happy helping us find a kitten! Shoutout to Cheryl and Meaghan especially for their kind hearts and wonderful attitudes! They gave us all the information on the animals and made sure we had a vet to go to! Definitely will be coming back here if I ever am looking for another animal!

Great organization dedicated to the care of the animals! Staff is always helpful and recommends other resources to help. Their adoption process is much better than other places I have been to. Here they make sure you actually have individual time with the animals instead of stuck in a group of people all looking at once. It also seems like a more comfortable process for the animals too! You get to actually bond with the animal to make sure it’s the right fit for you, and the staff takes the time to actually find out what your needs are. You can tell the organization genuinely cares about the community.

needed to make an appointment but I went anyways and adopted a cat. The place was stuffy, hard to breath in. Overall it was an easy process for cats at least. Dogs on the other hand, well the kids couldn’t get the whole experience. You have to look on the computer screen, then pick which one to have come out and meet you. They said it was because of Covid . Just too much time being wasted to do it this way. This just didn’t work for us . Parking was limited and just watch out for other vehicles speeding. You will get hit if your not paying attention.

Okay I'm changing my review. I'm giving them a better review. I originally was not happy when I called. I decided to call back and kelsi was helpful. We made appointment and they do have some nice dogs and staff was very helpful when we got there. This is a no kill shelter also. If your looking to adopt a dog I would actually recommend Grand strand humane shelter. Way more selection there.

It's a travesty when the Humane Society cannot help you, I called there today regarding our baby girl who suffering. After being railroaded through numerous veterinarians on the Grand Strand who have no compassion or regard4life or the duress of their owners who are financially incapable of enforcing their exuberant fees. Our baby girl is suspected of having pyometra and needs to be spayed. The woman I talked to at the Humane Society informed us there is no veterinarian there and basically to call around the veterinarians in the area which I explained to her I've done so already. I don't understand why there is no compassion here in the Grand Strand, it's all about a huge money grab in complete disregard for people's feelings and the life of and well-being of their pets. I left the phone call feeling defeated, hopeless, and in despair as I watch my dog suffer which probably will result in her end. All I can do is sit here and cry.

The staff was very friendly. The cat section was clean and the cats had room to move around in their cages with beds to lay on and toy's to play with. The animals looked well cared for. Each animal has a tag on their cage with their personality description and characteristics. i enjoyed my visit. I got to hold and play with the cats to see which one I wanted to adopt. I adopted a beautiful little cat who is a great addition to my family.

The staff treats the shelter pets like their own pets. They know the personality of each dog and cat which helps in placing pets in the best home for them. The staff is extremely knowledgeable of animals in their care and can answer any questions you might have regarding care, etc.

The workers are so welcoming and easy to talk to. Please call for an appointment before going there and look at the animals your interested in. They will help match you up with an appropriate pet for you. You will not be disappointed. The fur-babies here have impeccable paper work from the vet that it impressed my vet in PA. LOVE THIS PLACE!

What a great staff and group of volunteers! This shelter has the kindest, most devoted and hard working group of people I've ever experienced. If you are planning to adopt a pet, this is the place! The animals are well cared for and the families that visit &/or adopt are well taken care of! Great job! God has blessed these pets with a great crew of humans!

Can't see any dogs without an appointment and you have to go to the website to fill out an application. They would get more dogs adopted if they allowed visitors. Makes you wonder.

I called to ask numerous questions because this is the 1st time in 20 years I will have adopted a pet. I wasn't sure how the process worked and needed to do some research and ask questions. I wanted to make sure I didn't get an animal with separation anxiety, was good with children, liked riding in the car and could I visit with more than one dog during my appointment. Basically, I want to be a good pet owner for the right pet. It was vey clear the woman I was speaking to wanted to get off the phone for whatever reason. We finally went to hang up and she had not set the receiver down yet and I heard her say very clearly in an exasperated voice oh my God. Geesh. Well I won't be going there to look at animals. Maybe she was just having a bad day, we all do, but I take adopting a pet very serious because it is a lifetime commitment. I hope her animal skills are better than her people skills.

Volunteered there and the staff is amazing and helpful. Of course, I had to answer a few questions that visitors looking for cats had because the employees don't spend a lot of time with the cats (that's what I was there for) but other than that very helpful and they get them out for adoption quick. Used to go every week and every time I came back at least 2-3 were adopted and had some new ones in.

The short haired grey women is super mean and unhelpful. Brought in a dog we found from “outside jurisdiction” we are out of town and have no idea where to bring the dog. She offered no resources and continued to press us on how we should bring her to an animal shelter that is KNOWN to be a high kill shelter when this found pup was in perfectly good condition. Everyone else in the office was kind and offering us resources but the white haired older women was awful, unhelpful, and unwilling to help a stray animal. She also was continuing to give us useless information while clearly in a scheduled adoption appointment with other people. Super rude to them. She should consider why she volunteers.

The kindest and nicest people I have met. They made our cats feel at home, one was a little skittish as is his nature and she took her time and I was in awe. I offered to help, coming from a shelter, and they said they had it and like a well oiled machine our babies were transferred. Awesome place and people!! Please adopt, don't shop!

The volunteers here really, truly seemed to care about the beautiful, homeless cats and dogs who are available for adoption. The facilities were clean and all the pets had plenty of food, water, beds, and blankets. The volunteers were very accommodating when I wanted to visit and hold pretty much all the cats. I will come back to visit the next time I'm in town.

This place was very disappointing. I have a dog that I needed to surrender due to the fact that I can’t afford to take care of her and want to make sure she has the best possible care. After being told many good things about this place, I went to explain my situation. The staff there was very harsh and judge mental. I would not recommend this place if ever find yourself in a situation to surrender a pet or even purchase one. The old woman was the worst. She kept making comments about the dogs size and asking personal questions about my situation and dog. Very disappointing to see this kind of person working with animals.

Very friendly staff. Very knowledgeable on all the dog's I had questions about. I adopted a dog and was very happy with the easy process and offer of additional after adoption assistance. I would definitely recommend The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach.

This is a Great place to adopt a pet! The staff is very Kind, Knowledgeable and Helpful. They answered all my questions plus more. It's not a large facility but the great selection makes up for it. I highly recommend this place for any monetary donations to help this location grow and to better serve the North Myrtle Beach area. Thanks again to the wonderful staff for helping me adopt our little kitten, Peaches.

Just Great People who care about ALL of the Animals and having found the dog of a Lifetime there which We sadly lost due to Cancer recently with terrible sadness at the age of almost 13. She was a GORGEOUS PITTBULL and was 10 + when we got her. Sooo, we are again looking to find another. Also, it breaks my Heart that this Breed is so negatively looked at BECAUSE, in my 60 years of owning dozens of other breeds I can FAITHFULLY say that in owning 3 Patty's that I will not consider any other except for them. They are SMART, GOOFY, FAITHFUL, BEAUTIFUL and most of ALL LOVING
