Nice State park. Bathhouse's need updated and one was completely closed. Pond seems fished out. But all in all worth the stay. Very pretty park and area.

Beautiful State Park located in Mountain Rest, SC and a perfect place to spend quality time with friends and family. It’s charming, very clean, campground is great and several bathhouses are undergoing renovations. Lots to see and do. Fishing, 🎣, boating, kayaking, camping 🏕️, swimming 🏊‍♂️ , , 🏃🏽‍♀️paddle-boarding, putt putt golf and plenty of trails to hike. Nice shelters and multiple playgrounds.Y’all should go visit. Chop, chop#SupportStateParks#NeverStopExploring #SCStateParks#HappyPlaces❤️Playground: Multiple playgrounds around the park.Restrooms: Restrooms are tidy and clean.Picnic area: Several picnic and group shelters throughout the park.

Recently my family picked up the state park guide and began collecting stamps, so we decided to travel up to Oconee to camp for two nights. We stayed in one of the water/electric sites and it was great! The bathhouses were conveniently close and it was pretty quiet the two weeknights we stayed. The playgrounds were nice as well, our 2 year old enjoyed it. Just be sure to hit up a grocery store beforehand, while the office/general store had a few camping related supplies, they only had snacks in terms of groceries. The only trails we attempted with our 2 year old was the Hidden Falls trail, which was 2.75 miles in and 2.75 miles back out. That one was a little rough for our little guy but the trail was great and beautiful. All in all it was a great trip and the up country of South Carolina is definitely one of my favorite areas.Playground: Several playgrounds in the campground, a few need a little updating/cleaning.Restrooms: The restrooms seemed fairly well kept, could use a bit of cleaning and stocking. We did not see anyone stopping in to the bathhouse near our site for the two nights we were there.Dog-friendliness: We saw a lot of dogs in the park, there is even a designated swim area for them at the lake.Picnic area: Multiple picnic shelters to choose from.

This beautiful SC state park is easily accessible and has lots of natural beauty and great amenities. The parking is abundant and there are ample fishing spots, kayaks for renting, a volleyball court, and great areas to enjoy camping or a family picnic.Oconee State Park is unique in its great natural beauty and in the quiet solitude it offers.

A perfect Fall weekend getaway. Just what we needed.....quiet, leaves, and perfect hospitality. Playing golf got our family laughing, and the Halloween trick or treating in the campground was a great surprise. We cannot wait to go back!!!

Our first visit and the park staff were very friendly and helpful. The park has a beautiful small lake with campsite and cabin rentals. The park has a lot of history, and many of the original buildings are still standing. Lots of walking and hiking trails. Summer rentals of paddle boats and canoes.

Our stay at Oconee State Park was the best. The cabin sat by the Lake was comfortable. It was in good order and nice and warm on a cool & rainey night.

This was a very well taken care of state park. The niece and nephews were able to ride their bikes all over the camp grounds and we weren't worried sick. It's like it's own little town. There are sno cone stands, a park, restrooms, little shops, ranger station etc.

Absolutely beautiful. The cabins by the lake are in a phenomenal location with great views. Getting lost here isn’t a hardship. The ladies at the visitor’s center were friendly and helpful.

We had a great time camping inspite of the infestation of yellow jackets. They were every where. Our picnic table was falling apart. We just didn't use it. Park is really nice with several hiking trails. The staff was very friendly.

I love this state park!! We rented one of the shelters for a birthday party. It was right on the lake and there were restrooms closeby. They have 3 playgrounds for the little ones. Lake area for swimming and put-put golf. Grounds are kept nicely.

We love this park! We tent camped there a few years ago and recently stayed in one of the cabins for two nights. Great experiences both times. The park rangers were great, very helpful. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Beautiful trails and views, and lots of wonderful places to hike nearby.

We took the boys to camp at Oconee State Park this summer, and they had a blast. I have been coming here since I was younger than them, and I was thankful that my boys had a much fun as I used to. There are activities to enjoy, like put-put, paddle boats, jonboats, swimming, trails, and fishing.Nearby, you can enjoy a drive to the fish hatchery or explore Stumphouse Tunnel. You can drive down the mountain and visit downtown Walhalla, or take a trip further up the mountain and make your way to The Highlands if you are looking for a day trip.

The trails and park are very well maintained and the views are absolutely gorgeous! The water levels were a bit low due to the current drought, so we weren't able to witness its full potential, but hopefully we'll be able to come back. This park will be one to remember.

The only thing I didn't like is they do not have a life guard on duty anymore and they have closed the floating platform that the diving board was on . The bathroom at the swimming area could have been a little cleaner. The floors hadn't been swept recently and you can only play putt putt till 5pm . Most people prefer to do that sorta thing late evening because its cooler. Yall can do way better up there. But we still had a good time. Take bug spray .gnats are bad .Dog-friendliness: They have added a roped off section next to the swimming section just for dogs to get in the water to play and cool off also! ..

Camped for the weekend and really enjoyed our campsite and the grounds in general. A storm had passed through prior to our visit making washout present in various areas. Staff is friendly and helpful and the bath houses are updated and clean. Quiet and peaceful is in place and the views are nice.

Oconee State Park had a lot of great views with the waterfall the day that we went. It happened to rain and just the water hitting the grass and the trees made it worthwhile, it was truely an amazing experience

We spent 2 nights at this SC campground. Its wooded and some sites like ours had a lake view. We had electric and water hookups. There are several lakes within the park and many trails leading right from the campground. We hiked to Hidden Falls and Disappearing Falls on the same trail. This park is the start of the 77 mi Foothills hiking trail .There were several boat docks, canoe rentals, a swimming area, picnic shelters, and mini golf so plenty of entertainment for families and day trips. The cabins available were built by the CCC corps - each one looked unique. We were told by a couple we met that several had been newly remodeled.Enjoyed a fun weekend here

Very nice park staff and our campground host Steve was awesome. He came by to welcome us while we were setting up. During our stay he passed by several times, then the day we were leaving he stopped over to say goodbye. He is a people person and an asset to the park. The month of October is a great month to visit. Everything was decorated and it was a great stay. The park is located near lots of waterfalls & hiking trails.****Verizon service works in the park, Sprint / T-Mobile no service. Heard one lady saying her AT&T phone wasn't working. They have free wi-fi at the check in office but my phone couldn't even pick that up. You can sit outside on the porch and try to get a signal.

Very nice state park in South Carolina. The one staff member we met was very friendly and helpful. Campsites were very good and close to the bathroom. Bathroom could use a little updating but they were clean at least.

We stayed in one of the cabins and it was a great experience! I loved that they were dog friendly, too. If you forgot anything on your trip they have a lot of items in the store and dollar general is only a few minutes down the road which is very convenient for us inexperienced campers.Even with heavy rains the trails were passable (though we definitely got VERY wet and muddy) and well maintained. Some trees down, but it does warn you not to bring bikes so it wasn't a problem climbing over or around them. There weren't any huge ones blocking the paths or anything. I did wish that some of the offshoot trails had signage to tell us which trails they were a part of or where they would take us (and the distance). The trail around the lake also wasn't marked well and the boardwalks do get slippery in the rain. It is mostly a walk around the lake moreso than a clear trail and obviously the slippery-ness is no fault of the park - I'm just including it in my review as a warning to be prepared for that. The employees were very friendly and helpful, we just wish the weather were better so we could enjoy the outdoors even more than we did and to play the minigolf - we were unable to due to storms in the forecast. The cabin itself was amazing! I wish the shower were just a little bigger or had a bathtub for ease with bathing muddy small children. Warning: the beds are small. Full size, not queen. There is a foldout in the couch and a loft we didn't even know about with more beds up top. We didn't need them but it's good to know for the future. Could definitely do a family trip with a couple families easily. The kitchen is very small but there is a fire pit AND grill out back. Also the pans in the kitchen are NOT nonstick so if you plan on making something like pancakes be prepared ;) The fireplace inside was phenomenal and I love that they had firewood to buy directly onsite at the park store.I think we will definitely be staying here or at another state park again in the near future. Wonderful experience and about the same cost as a hotel room and you get so much more. There are a lot of cabins but the space between them and foliage is great, we still felt private and secluded.I only wish we had booked a longer trip.

Nice wooded park. RV sites are all pull thru, some are easy others awkward, but not paved and pretty unlevel. Water and power, but no sewer. Fire pits and daily trash bag pick up.No Internet or tv reception in RV area, so bring your own entertainment!Nice store, friendly helpful staff. My battery died and the Rangers went out of their way to help me get the problem fixedBeautiful scenery, DARK Nights! Lots of hiking and sites like Stumphouse Tunnel and many waterfalls.(for the able-bodied) towns are about 10 miles down the twisty twisty road.Shop at INGLES Market. Great Deli.Yes we would go back.
