Actually love this Vet! Switched my big doggie to them not to long ago and added my new puppy ive been nothing but impressed and happy with this vet! They take their time with examination and EXPLANATION!! I am still pretty new at being a dog mom so explanations of what’s wrong with my dog, explanation of what medicines he’s taking and explanation of what I need to be looking out for with them is more than appreciated and sought after in a vet! From the ladies at the front who answer the phones to the actual vet, Dr.Spilker, we received exemplary service from all staff. They will have my business and my recommendation to anyone looking for a vet. If I could give them a 10/10 stars I would!

Dr. Spilker and his staff are amazing. They accommodated our dog during an emergent time and quite literally saved her life. It was great! We were in and seeing someone in less than five minutes! We were told at the Oakcrest hospital could not be seen for 46 hours! Unreal. Who would wait that long to have someone see their fur baby. Not going back there.

I recommend Dr. Spilker to anyone that has guinea pigs! He's very sweet with my Boo and very knowledgeableon piggies in general. Some of his staff also own exotics as well and they are all very kind and know a lot too! They have a client for life, with me.

The Vet, his assistant & the staff at the desk were very easy going & friendly! The Dr was great about discussing treatment options & then prescribed medicine at a price I could afford for long-term care. Was so happy with my visit, I made arrangements to bring in my other dog!

Back in March we had to say goodbye to our dog Lainey. Tonya Croft and Dr. Johnson were the people who took care of our family during that time. Prior to that visit, we hadn’t been to this vet’s office. Dr. Johnson was kind and compassionate to us and we knew if we ever got a new puppy, we’d go back.My wife bought me a new puppy for my birthday a week ago. We took Scooter in for his new puppy check up. Tonya, Dr. Johnson, and the whole staff were very excited to see my new boy. Thanks for the wonderful experiences so far. We love this vet’s office.

Edit: Puppy was given an expired rabies vaccine which when I called to ask about it and they stated the vaccine info in the computer was never updated. That the bottle they used date was xxx. No way to prove which on was correct. Then brought puppy in due to constant inching and they did a skin scrape and said he had mange. Medication they gave didnt clear it up so I went online and did some research. It was a omega 3 deficit so got some fish oil from Dinovite and it cleared up in no time. Will be switching vets. The vet himself and most of the staff are friendly.

Love this place! Dr. Spilker is so kind and Dr. Johnson is a doll! She has a lot of knowledge and common sense. The rest of the staff are so sweet and kind and really care. Prices are very reasonable for today's tough times. Boarding is great and very reasonable.

I was a little upset with the pricing I ask how much I was going to have to pay and they said no more than this. Morning of surgery this is your cost. I was ok with that but went to pay out and it cost me more than quoted and I wasn’t expecting to pay that. When you are ask how much you gonna pay out of pocket include everything so people will know. This means exam fees as well especially for your new patients. I know things happen out of control and I get all that but all this was routine fees. As for as the staff and all else great Drs and Techs and they took great care of our baby.

Not what they used to be. Don't expect to be seen if your animals get sick past 12. Plan on heading straight to the ER, or another vet. Disappointed client service has been forgotten. My pediatrician can get my kids in, but the vet can't see the dog. Just not my style of business.

My dogs have been through every procedure successfully. Dr. Spilker is very knowledgeable. If the job might be super complex he doesn't hesitate to find a specialist to help out. He's built a good, solid practice. I will continue to drive over 20 miles to see him due to his expertise and willingness to help.

I’ve been taking my pets to VMS for over 3 years now and have had nothing short of amazing service. Every single time. Every expectation is met, every question is answered and both Dr. Spilker and Slade take the time to listen to your concerns and help you have a better understanding of what may be going on with your pet: minor or major.One of our dogs gets nervous around dogs his size or bigger, and they handle him so well. There has never once been a time where we have had to worry about bringing him to the office!

My dog was in distress and I contacted this vet to see if I can get her looked at and they could not see her for at least 3 days. You would think when there is an emergency situation they would get the animal in immediately. We found another vet that would see her right away and she was scheduled for emergency surgery to save her life. The new vet has now won our loyalty as our family vet and I will never contact veterinary medicine on 601 in Lugoff again As they don't care about the animal enough to make time to see them in an emergency situation.

This is probably the best veterinary clinic in Kershaw County. We are AKC Breeders of Merit, and we have always had very good visits, from first puppy exams to emergency care to elderly dog care to being extra caring during the most critical times. The staff are all very friendly and really care about their 'patients'.Their costs of services has also been very reasonable, compared to vets in Lexington and Richland Counties.

But everytime I've gone, I've been met with friendly smiles and positive attitudes. Not impressed. Took my puppy there for 3 visits and ended up dissatisfied in some way for all 3. First visit the vet recommended probiotics for diarrhea and makes it sound like a prescription. Even put a prescription label on the bag. You can buy the same probiotics online for at least $20 cheaper than what I was charged in the office. Not a deal breaker, but definitely seemed a little shady.Second visit the vet recommended medication for her eyes. Did not tell me the cost of it and gave her a dose in the exam room. I didn’t find out until I went to pay that it was $40 and I could have just done the eye drops for less. He also recommended trazadone for anxiety and I said I would talk to my husband.Less than a week later I take her back to the vet for her shots. Ask the tech about the trazadone and she comes back and says “the vet says she’s too little but if I want to make this an office visit (aka pay the exam fee) she will come in and give you some tips”. I decline. Then I go to pay and it’s over $100. I ask why so much and have them print out the bill. I ask why there’s a fecal test when she just had one a month ago. They say they like to have 2 negatives on file. They never asked or did anything in the room. They took her in the back and then brought her back to the exam room with out saying a thing. I had to ask if she even had her shots.The employees are nice enough, but I wouldn’t choose this place if you want to know what’s going on. If you’re fine with them doing whatever with your pet and paying the bill at the end then give them a shot.

Average service but consistently more expensive than other vets. Surgery that they estimate $1000+ for I’ve had done at another vet for a couple hundred on multiple occasions. They definitely monopolize on being the only vet in Lugoff.Update: after having VMS quote me an absurd amount for a service I took my pet to another vet and had her treated for a tenth of what I would have paid. I got a call from said vet asking if my pet was okay because VMS requested records on my pet the next day, a request I did not authorize.
