Sadly I have lost 3 dogs since becoming a patient at St Francis. Old age and a serious birth defect that no vet could fix. The staff has been wonderful and kind during each of those hard times. For everyday care the receptionists and techs are all so lovely. Shout out to Dr. Maloney, Coco and I love her!

Everyone was extremely polite and very helpful and answered all my questions as my poor little fella was not feeling well. Checked on us several days later and have a follow-up in a week.

Very Special group of caring people that work at St Francis. The staff are super supportive of getting you the best results. In some cases, like ours it's a group effort between the Dr's techs and per owners. What we thought was so awesome for our situation was that the Dr's and vet tech took the time to show us how we should administer the medicines our cat Hemi needed. They made sure you were comfortable with what you were doing. They do a lot of work here and do take emergency calls during business hours. Just St the other day we had a 10:15 appointment. An emergency case came in and that pushed us back. No big deal it's life. We were just grateful that we were able to get an appointment that day.

I had a very sickly Papillon. All the staff took extra care with him, whenever he needed it, I could bring him right in. The horrible day we had to put him down, Dr Trudy sat with us for as long as we needed to say goodbye.

I absolutely love the staff and of course Dr B. We have another dog that my boyfriend takes to another office that's cheaper and closer to home but I refuse to ever move my babies because I LOVE the staff and Dr B. We've been with them for going on 10 years. We drive an hour for our visits and it's always worth it! Everyone makes you feel like family and they are always there to answer your questions or find you the answer you need. I have always felt like they go over and beyond to help my babies and give them the best care!!! Simple questions, refills, making sure we see who we're asking for when scheduling, down to a long time ago one of our babies was hit by a car and Dr B kept the doors open until we got there with her and called around to find a surgeon he trusted before sending us to them to the simplest of things, like a personal handwritten card years later after one of our babies passed. I love the team so much!

Having just moved to the area, it was wonderful to find them for my 16 year old dog. Dr. Swanda is awesome & put my usually nervous terrier at ease with her gentle compassionate demeanor. The staff is also wonderful & always helpful. I am so glad that my friends recommended this vet clinic .Now taking our new puppy here & would still recommend them. May 2023

From the first day I chose to try out Saint Francis 2 years ago I just had a good feeling about them. Our first appointment was a referral to Dr. Bruner for a OCD of the shoulder diagnosis in my 6 month old ASD puppy . It was during COVID and he took the time to come outside and explain his findings and suggestions rather than by phone and that showed me he really cared. Now that they are seeing patients back in office I had to schedule my ASD an appointment for another chronic ear infection. After hearing my concerns about how difficult my boy can be to treat we were still able to get it done and within 24hrs he was already beginning to feel better! I will recommend anyone I hear of that needs care for their animals to Saint Francis Animal Hospital!!!

Our healthy Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, age 6, saw Dr. Robert Bruner 5/18 for a 2nd opinion re a cyst on his eyelid. Preliminary heart blood work & EKG was done 6/10. No heart issue and he was approved for surgery done by Dr. Bruner on 6/14. He was recovering at home when we notice what we believed was a stitch on his eyelid had come out. On 6/18, we returned him to have Dr. Maloney to check his eye, and see what she thought since Dr. Bruner was off that day. I was told it was out but a 2-3 minute procedure with a 5 minute sedation could be done to replace the stitch needed. It sounded very minor. It would be done at 1:45 and I would be called after the procedure. We could pick him up at 4:15 (must be the set time for pick up of all animals according to the other posts here). I had not heard anything so about 2:15 I called to check on him. I was told "we are very busy and I'll need to have a tech call you back. I asked if Chester was okay. She repeated she would have a tech call me back because they were very busy." My next call was from a tech at approx. 2:30 saying, "Chester coded as we were taking him to his recovery crate & we have been doing CPR for 30 minutes, do you want us to continue?" Of course I said YES! Why not say you need to come to the clinic we are having problems with Chester? Very unprofessional and shocking. I told her we were on our way. Before we got there (while we were driving) we received a call from Dr. Maloney saying she was sorry but they had not been able to revive Chester. It is really unbelievable that this news would be given to us while we were driving. No one can explain what happened. We have his records which are sketchy at best. We were told that our sweet Chester had woken up from the sedation and they were taking him to his recovery crate when he turned blue meaning he had coded (had a cardiac arrest) and they immediately started CPR and the doctor gave numerous drugs to restart his heart to no avail. No explanation as to what caused this to happen. Their practices and procedures need to be investigated. It will not bring Chester back but may save some other dog. I wish I had read the reviews here before I went there for a second opinion but this place was recommended to me by what I considered a good source. There was no charge for the procedure on the day of his death and no charge for his cremation or the engraved wooden box with his remains. When we asked Dr. Maloney about this she said it was done out of kindness and to cover anything up was not true. We'd like to believe her but we believe something may have been done incorrectly causing a blood clot, aspiration, etc. We asked for a written explanation but none has been received. Both doctors called us but neither could say what had caused his heart to stop - and neither offered anything in writing. We are still shocked, sad and devastated! Most of all we feel that we put our trusting, beloved pet in the hands of someone who didn't take care of him. We may never get over this. Have a small metal or other sturdy material box or holder with poop bags near the dog walking area in the front of your building. Your staff is SO wonderful, always kind, efficient and so helpful! I have recommended you to many people new to Little River and Longs already. Keep up the wonderful customer service and kindness to our furry family members and their pet parents and other caregivers!! Bill has been especially helpful to us and so knowledgable with our dog questions!! THANK YOU ALL!!

Overall Dr. Bruner was absolutely amazing, knowledgeable and super passionate about his career.However, the owners husband is definitely bad for business. He believes he is a bouncer or security. He likes to approach people with hostile intent, and will treat you like a criminal. He likes to disregard those who are being tactful, and respectful to staff. His actions will be briefed to all VFW and other veteran organizations in the surrounding area.Overall, as stated prior, Dr.Bruner himself is absolutely amazing and would highly recommend his knowledge, he is a true subject matter expert.

I don't believe the service my pups receive could be better. I always recommend Saint Francis. The only complaint would be the cost and I know that it is unrealistic to expect the same quality of service at a discounted price. I don't see changing to another veterinary practice. Dr. Trudy is the best for my fur babies.

Dr.Swanda and the entire staff are very professional and caring. When I take my pet I feel that ample time is spent examining my pet and then explaining what is going on and the course of treatment.I wouldn't think of taking my pets anywhere else. Thank you St. Francis.
