I was recommended to come here by a fellow doxie mom and she was on the spot! Abby was so sweet, patient with my 2 little difficult doxies and did an amazing job! Sunny hates her toes done and when I got her back they were the best I’ve ever seen! Luna was not having the clippers situation for her first big girl haircut, but Abby did a Face, Feet, Fanny trim instead and it was perfect! Cannot rave enough! Also I saw the groomers had smiling faces, it was clean and was just a friendly positive environment! Def will be back!

The associate that was very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous had Carter on her name badge. She greeted us as we entered the store, helped me find certain things that I was overlooking and asked if I needed anything else to just let her know. I really love the aquatic plant selection you have and the tanks seemed very balanced too. The different variety of aquatic life forms were so awesome to see and tempting to purchase. I will be back to get mystery snails, plants and feed. I purchased the 20 long aquarium that was 50% off member sale and I'm so happy I did but sad that I didn't get 2 of them...lol... I want to thank Ms. Carter at the 5438 Sunset BLVD. Lexington SC 29072 #02529 location for being Awesome and helping me with all my questions.

If it were possible to leave zero stars I would. We took our long hair dachshund in for his trim, bath and nail trimming appointment on Sunday. We were not aware it was a drop off and up in 4 hours process. We skimmed through grooming services disclosures but did not see that. If it isn’t there some where it should be. While that wasn’t our preference we followed the rules without a fuss, as that isn’t the problem. Our dog doesn’t bite and is not aggressive AT ALL. Is it easy to trim his nails, no- and we said that when we were checking in. He likes to pull his feet back and away when trimming nails. We picked up our dog to him having one bleeding nail that was cut too short. Blood all over his foot and dipped in something to make it stop bleeding which was why I was taking him to professionals- to avoid him being hurt which I have never even cut it too short- I’d rather you leave the nail than hurt him- not to mention he’s got 4 underarm/ leg areas only 3 are trimmed while one is still long and in knots and one huge bald spot behind his left ear. It looks like a toddler got a hold of my dog. I cannot imagine a worse job being done. I would never recommend anyone take their doggo here. I’m not hard to please, this was just a really really bad job. Honestly can’t imagine it being done very much worse. I really don’t understand how it’s so bad.

My daughter bought some hermit crabs while we were in Myrtle Beach. The next day we went to Petco and asked for help and Reagan was super helpful, she told us all about them, the pros and cons of any options we chose and she was very friendly as well. Thank you so much for all the help!

The lady at the register was so nice and patient as we were checking out. She had a very positive and pleasant attitude. I love shopping at this Petco location. There’s always good service and helpful friendly staff. The store was also very clean and organized.

There are always smiling faces and helpful people at the Lexington, SC Petco. I have gotten to know Sonny, Joel and Reagan and appreciate them so much! I look for one of them when I shop at Petco for my 5 cats, 2 dogs and 2 birds - who are very important family members to us!

We love this company and the groomers here! I love having no doubt that my dogs are in good hands when I leave them. My little one gets a haircut, and she looks SO good every time. Everyone we have come in contact with has been fabulous and so nice. Absolutely recommend! A cashier and manager helped me out at checkout with a Pals Reward issue I was having as well, and they were so nice and went above and beyond to take care of me!

I went to Petco late yesterday afternoon, I wanted a dog harness that somehow did not get rung up or put in my bag. I didn't notice because I was on the machine printing out a new dog tag. So I went back to the store today and the people were so so nice and helped me look for the harness and even found me a leash to match. They were great!!!!

We’ve used this petco for grooming for nearly 2 years and have never had a bad experience. My dog can be quite reactive and scared but they manage him really well. Vanessa specifically grooms him and does a great job!

Two groomers, Nicky and Miranda, stated they would not bathe my dog because of a small torn acl. They stated a Petco policy but could not provide me with it. They had provided my dog with baths the past 3 months with the same torn acl and no one turned him away. I have now spent over an hour and communicated with 3 different customer service reps and no one can give me documentation of a policy which the groomers used to turn my dog away last Sunday. Customer service for Petco is inadequate. The second rep emailed me a "policy" in her own words, which was written very poorly. Why can a huge corporation not provide me with documentation of POLICY?

We had our first visit with our new puppy yesterday! It was a great experience from start to finish! Everyone was so kind, knowledgeable, patient, and helpful! I felt empowered when I left the office as this is our first puppy! Our Zola was responded great as well! Win-win!!

I went and bought two large bags of dog food. The young guy who works there…helped me put it into my cart. I happened to tell him that I pulled a muscle in my back and I was in SO much pain. After I paid for the bags, the same young man carried them into my car. I wish I had gotten his name…but boy he was extremely kind!!!

The store was not able to fulfill the order, this is not the first time.I needed to purchase 2 bags of litter to get a discount, I purchased 6, 3 available. I still got the discount, nice. I then ordered the additional 3 for home delivery with a very similar discount with the help of an employee.Store stock for sophresh litter is low in Lexington, SC, often there are none available or expected soon in the 40 lb bags.

Always too expensive but sometimes you have to go here. I recommend going on chewy if you can. However we found some really cool litter pans, it's a whole system that makes scooping litter easier

This was my yorkie’s first grooming session. I explained that he has some anxiety when bathing. The staff assured me at checkin that they would be patient and move as slowly as he needed. They expected to spend 4-5 hours on the wash and cut. His groomer, Julee was patient and attentive to his needs. The session ended up taking only 2 hours. Petco (and Julee if available) will definitely be his regular groomer going forward!

The cashier was fabulous! There were not any shopping carts, I had to to back out into the parking lot to retrieve one and even after I left there were still not any and no one made an effort to bring them inside. Also, a lady was labeling cans of cat food and did not look up once or even ask if I needed helper or say hello. Not good customer service.

Ever since Melissa left that store has gone so far down hill, i went a few weeks ago to get dog food and all of the small hamsters were running back and forth none stop, after researching i learned this was “glass surfing” which shows extreme stress levels and can also lead to neurological issues. I was also in the other day and over heard them talking about a ferret that was returned dead with bite marks all over it because they didnt inform the owner about the risks of introducing new ferrets to old ones. I truly used to love this store but its sad to see how downhill its gone in just a few months. Im not sure who their new manager is but they need to get a new one cause whoever’s there now is not doing anywhere close to a good job nor does it seem like theyre doing anything to protect the welfare of these animals, at this point if you have money theyd sell you a fish to keep in a cup.

My dog gets groomed regularly at this petco location and the last time I picked her up she was limping and very lethargic not acting like herself. When I looked at her left side she was cut really badly her skin and fur were off the wound. No one told me she had been cut from the groomer this presented a terrible experience I will never go back to this petco groomer!!!

Went here to get some fish for my tank. Employee was super helpful, and friendly. And they give you plenty of time to return any fish that might possibly die. Days later all of my fish ( and frogs) are still doing great. I definitely plan to buy more when I get the bigger tank set up.

Update May 2021:Our Catahoula pup recently attended the 6 week puppy training classes held on Sundays, we had a good time and the pup thoroughly enjoyed it. Cindy the trainer was great.Original review 2019..This store has always been clean and well stocked when I visit..Employees have been friendly and helpful..My favorite pet supply shop in the area.

We’ve been bringing our 4 lb. ShihPoo there for a year now for grooming. Vanessa was our groomer until she went on maternity leave. Then it was Rose, I like the way her haircut looked after Rose groomed her. This was her 3rd visit with Rose. Rose called me to say Sophie was ready to be picked up. When we got there, this lady that was working their check in came out and said we won’t be able to groom my Sophie anymore. Said she was trying to jump off the table, and was biting at the clippers. I’ve watched her in the past when Vanessa was grooming her and she just sat there. This time she was shaking fiercely when we picked her up. Something happened yesterday for her to act this way. She’s a registered service animal for stress and anxiety for me. This breaks my heart and stresses me and my husband out knowing that someone might have been mean to her. And now she’s so afraid to be around someone without shaking and trying to get away.

As a new puppy owner that has NEVER owned a dog in my life of nearly 60 yrs, I have found the experience of coming in and talking about simple things like food and doggie "entertainment", safety, etc., the associates have always been kind and genuinely listened and offer solid advice.And of course bringing a 4 mo old golden lab in, she gets more attention than she knows what to do with 😀, NOT 😆!!

We went into the store with the intentions of just looking around. We found a Hampster named Panda! He was surrendered by his owner and we fell in love with him. Alex helped us find everything we needed for him and gave us nutritional advice for our new found family member. Best experience by far. If you find yourself in Petco and need assistance Alex is your go to girl! We will definitely be returning ♥️
