I'm not sure what's going on with most of the Dollar generals in my surrounding area other than them not having enough staff but every single dollar general I go into it is a complete disaster as far as stocking shelves and just disarray most of the items are not where they should be I guess it just is because they don't have enough staff . I still love the Dollar general even if the stores are a mess.

4 stars because staff is always nice and helpful when needed.One thing I don't like is the fact that they keep the self checkout closed all the time. It's never opened. Went 3 Fridays in a row and same thing! There's always a line in there and no one can be bothered with watching the self checkout I guess. So they keep it closed. its not right. It defeats the entire purpose of self checkout. Let's also keep in mind that not all sites are equipped with self checkout. So it's great when you can find a dg that has one. Please fix this issue. I travel 25 minutes just to go to this location and it's now a let down

The pregnant woman told the senior citizen she’s not able to get something down from top shelf for her. She can’t climb because of pregnancy. The elderly wasn’t very happy. She wanted sparkling water which was to the top. She was very rude and didn’t accommodate her customer. She should’ve applied for a different position her customer services sucks. She don’t need the job at dollar general

This store is so nice and well managed. The customer service is one of the best i’ve experienced in a while. The manager (Lawrence) took liberty to walk me to my car in the rain. This will definitely be my permanent dollar general 💕

Every time I go to this store, a very nice gentleman is there, smiling and greeting everyone! When I or other customers ask how he is, his answer is always, "On top of the world!" This man is such a breath of fresh air, we need more people like him in the world! I wouldn't doubt if people come to Dollar General now just to see him! I've lived near this store for more than 10 years, frequently visiting, and I've never seen it in such good condition... Ever since that sweet guy started working there! I won't "avoid" the DG anymore! He's a keeper! :)

Went in the store with my grandpops, and the manager there (I think his name was Lawrence or Trey…) was phenomenal! He went above and beyond to make sure my granddad had everything he needed. My grandfather loves him! He even told me when he bought oil for his car. Trey even helped him put the oil in the car. Lawrence for the Win ! Dollar General on Hwy 78 is the store to go to if you want 5 star service!!

This store is truly a disaster every single time i go in it. Carts in EVERY isle. Shelves with stuff everywhere. They NEVER restock. Every time i try to go in to get cases of water for my company, the only water they have is in the carts to be “restocked” so they don’t allow me to get any off the cart!! They tell me to “come back later” when they could easily just open the metal cart and give me a case of water. RIDICULOUS. DISGUSTING. SAD EXCUSE OF A BUSINESS.

Lawrence (the manager) was amazing he walked me to my car and helped me put my items in the car for me. I’m not from the area and this was my first time coming to the store anytime I didn’t know where something was he walked me to wherever the item was. I will definitely visit this store again.

The Store on Hwy 78 looked AMAZING!!! I was so excited to walk in and there is so many items to chose from, store was fully stocked and neat...The gentleman at the register helped me to my car with a umbrella because I had a cart full and it was pouring raining.

Why is this store always closed??? I think some of the employees at dollar general need to be retrained. Some Christmas items are not marked down and Dollar General wants full price for things they only sell at Christmas. It's either the cashier is too lazy to change the price or she is trying to pocket money...this location definitely needs to be shut down. And management is so clueless how lazy their employees are it's ridiculous. Corporate won't even do anything about the laziness at this location. They need to straighten up the shelves and the isles also. Totes are everywhere on the sales floor you can't even walk. They got more merchandise in totes than they do on the shelves

Poor employees I feel bad for them, that store is a hot mess and there's only two people in the whole building and are expected to run a cash register and stock and keep the store recovered. Its possible to do, and I know what I'm talking about, I just recently left a similar company for the exact same reason. These companies dont want to give the stores enough hours to have more people on shift so once you get behind its almost impossible to catch back up which is what it looks like happened in this store :(.

Best little store in my area. Carries all the essentials like Bread & Milk plus they have everything you need from Walmart but in a smaller, friendlier atmosphere. Plus they always have a cashier there!😂

Refused to help me check out. Told me to go to the self check out. I had cold meds and had to wait while she assisted the rest of the line who were behind me originally. Then had an attitude when I interrupted her to come help me. Horrible customer service.

The store is old, small, crowded isles. Selections are poor. They try to cram a large variety of items in the small space which means boxes in isles that are already too small. The staff consists of 1 maybe 2 cashiers. If there is a problem with an order, there is a wait while the clerk has to lock the register and go find the manager. There is no one to assist with anything, even getting items from high shelves.

They brought a girl from another store in who lied about her name. She is very rude. This was my favorite store, the cashier and the manager knows me. Now I'm no longer going to this store until the get rid of this horrible employee. I've tried to get a hold of the district manager but she will not return any of my calls.

Love this store and so convenient for me but so poorly operated. The district manager/owner? overworks too few staff and DG keeps piling on inventory and don't have enough staff to stock, run registers and everything else that's required. They have to pile cart after cart in the ailes because stock room full. What this does is leave the shopper frustrated because one cannot even get into some ailes at all or try to move big heavy loaded carts to reach something on the shelf. The employees, they can manage to keep, are at a great disadvantage being short staffed but try so hard anyway until they get burned out. Let go of your tight purse strings...you think your saving your store money paying less people but your losing customers because it's IMPOSSIBLE to shop there. Had to drive out of my way to find a Dollar General that was better managed to be able to shop...it was on Central Ave in Summerville...I could breathe there. I've seen the outside just pile up with garbage everywhere too for long periods of time.

The parking lot is TRASHED. Being that they have no outdoor garbage can AT ALL, it makes sense. You can also tell that no one cleans the parking lot to make up for that. But hey, at least I found the pack of gum I went for.

Bought a tub of ice cream one night right at closing time, when I got home I noticed it wasn't what I thought it was, I took it back the next morning and the clerk said once you take it out of the store you can't bring it back, so I explained to her I was allergic to peanut she said she could not help so I threw it away and have never been back to that store

I go to this store almost everyday. It has its good times and bad. Overall it's a good place to purchase daily household items to avoid heavy traffic stores like walmart.

Every time I go to this store they always have stuff laying on the floor. Which is a tripping hazard. Its always dirty with stuff all over the place very unorganized. You can do better dollar general
