This was our first experience at this adorable little spot. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful. Everyone was so kind and not only did the kitchen look spotless, the entire restaurant was very clean and well maintained. We will be back to visit for sure!Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming to children of all ages!

Juices and food were delicious and tasted so fresh! Jackson was great with customer service and the owner, Kim, was so very friendly and interacted with my baby girl and made us feel so welcome even as tourists. We can’t wait to come back!Vegetarian options: I eat vegetarian most of the time and the menu had lots of options that I would choose.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. We called ahead for take out and our order was ready right on time. The entire restaurant is clean and well organized. The chicken dinner for two was the perfect size and absolutely delicious. We thought the garlic bread was a great addition as well, but the dessert really hit it out of the park. Each strawberry cobbler is enough for two people to have a large serving. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a great visit to Periwinkle cafe! My sister has an onion allergy and they were very careful with that. The staff added extra nice touches like a little bit of a cookie while we were waiting for our food, and offered us cups of ice when they saw we were drinking out of the cans from the fridge. The owner was friendly and we had a nice conversation. I visit kiawah island often so I will be back the next time I come to visit!

My husband and I popped in after church today looking forward to something tasty. The owners have done a nice job with the limited space that they have. The place is clean and inviting. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The owners are very pleasant and attentive. Unfortunately, the menu seems to be disconnected. My husband and I decided that neither of us was super hungry so we chose to split a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. So glad we did. The chicken had been unevenly pounded resulting in over cooked, dry meat. The fries were good but too heavily salted. I had specifically asked if they had sweet tea and was told that they did. However, they do not. They can sweeten it with simple sugar which is okay, but not quite the same. This is the South. Would it really be that hard or that much more of an expense to offer pre- sweetened (with sugar) tea? This location has a somewhat captive audience, so hopefully they will elicit suggestions from customers for possible future offerings. We will definitely come again to give it another try.

Delicious food and coffee, and mimosas! We had the avocado toast and chicken biscuit. Both were delicious! The coffee and mimosas were next level as well.It looks like there is a great selection of beer and wine as well. We were there for brunch and were already stocked up for our trip otherwise we might have grabbed some for later.Great indoor or outdoor seating options. We chose outside and it was perfect on a fall day.The staff was very friendly even to us visitors.

Super nice owners and a great place to stop and relax with a good cup of coffee. The food was very yummy. I had the sausage egg and cheese on a fresh baked biscuit. The wife had the chicken breakfast sandwich. I would have ordered a second chicken sandwich.I came back the next day for lattes and the owner was so nice to offer me enough coffee beans to get me through the next morning since we were leaving early.I love good people.

Gluten free options that are delicious!!!! Got the GF muffin you can't even tell it's GF, super moist and delicious. The pain au chocolat is yummy too. All the drinks were fabulous. Cappuccino and lattes are on point. They make their own syrups. We are definitely coming back!

Great beer selection and knowledge. Counter Culture Coffee was okay, keep in mind my bar for great coffee is higher than most, but the espresso is the reason for one star off.Otherwise a delightful place, good vibe, and great staff! Will definitely be back!

I've passed this place on the way to Kiawah Island SC many times. But this trip, I wanted to try a local joint, so we stopped here. Walking in, the place is very clean and modern. Right up my alley. 😀 The menu is limited, but I don't have a problem with that. Do a little and do it well, as opposed to doing a lot and it's mediocre.Asked the lady at the register what she would recommend, and she said the burgers are really good. SHE WAS RIGHT!!!! There is a garlic aioli on it with sautéed onions, and IT ALL WORKED. There was such a rich flavor on the toasted bun. I like my burgers cooked medium, but I wasn't asked, and they came out well done. And they were still DELICIOUS!!!!They appear to also support other local businesses judging by what's in their coolers, so that's another win in my book.If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and check these guys out.

The ambiance is fantastic! The food seems the same as the Hemingway, yet is just as great as always. They are open much later than before. Also really enjoyed the rebranding and identifying as a veteran owned company.Vegetarian options: PlentyParking: Lots of free parking

If you haven't stopped at The Hemingway either on the way in to Kiawah or on the way out of Kiawah- You Should!!! 💞LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their Rosemary/Lavender Almond Milk Latte & just grabbing a quick bite of their warmed ham & cheese croissant 😋👍 Yummy! They need to sell their homemade Rosemary & Lavender simple syrups. They also have a great selection of wines by the bottle 🍷 Cheers!

Amzing coffee shop with great wine choices and fabulous staff! I was in town for 6 weeks and came to love my visits to The Hemingway. Great way to start your day or for an afternoon pick-me-up! Also bought an amazing sweatshirt that I haven't stopped wearing since I'm back in the cold weather. Wish I could go back and bring my fiance this time :)

To say that we loved our experience at Periwinkle would be an absolute understatement. The owners (Kim and John) were amazing, more than accomodating, and made for a very fun and inviting breakfast. We were made to feel like we were home, which was special (you dont get that everywhere)! There was playful banter (for ex, when John teased my husband and FIL about not eating bacon/meat and asked where they were from lol). Btw, everyone who ate the bacon raved about it and said it was superior. The grits were also outstanding (vouched by a native Georgia family; even our 13yo said so). I loved their homemade juices too, so good. Everyone we met with at Periwinkle was attentive, professional and personable. Kim and John sat down with us, and shared recommendations for places to see and things to do during our stay. They even gave a business card and said we can call or text with any questions during our stay (which we did). It's obvious the people at Periwinkle care and have a genuine desire to build rapport with their customer base. Next time we're in the area, we will make it a point to visit. If you're looking for a quality breakfast spot that serves more than just good food and drink, make sure to stop in!

Great breakfast sandwich. Cool little spot. Sometimes little joints close to the beach like this are not good because they don't have to be, but this place would hold its own wherever it is. Will def come back next time we are in town. I also need to come back to try their booze selection, it looked cool.

My name is Roberto from Ecuador and crazy about coffee and I was there today just before the closure. I have been amazed by the way Perwrinkle Kitchen treat the customers your Costumer Service is outstanding, and the time they dedicated not only to tasting a spectacular coffee, but also recommendations of places to visit in the area. Thank you very much for your time, which is the most valuable thing there is for human beings and for taking the time to pamper our senses. We will definitely return and it will be a pleasure to see you again. God bless you and let's go for a better world with people like you.

Came down to SC for a golf trip and found this gem! Service was fantastic and so friendly. Breakfast bacon sandwich was very filling and delicious. So good we stopped back for lunch. The beer and wine selection was solid. Had an Octoberfest with a tuna poke bowl. The bowl was perfect with just a little spicy kick. Owners were totally engaged in making our experience and food perfect. Definitely a must stop on a Kiawah Island trip.

Haven't had the pleasure of dining in yet, but we did a takeaway dinner for 6 last night and it was a great experience all around! Called in the morning to make sure they would have what we wanted, ended up chatting with the chef and felt sure that we would have enough. (We got 3 "family style" orders and there was plenty of leftovers for me today.) Picked up the Greek chicken meatballs with orzo salad at about 3:30, the meal was beautifully packed, plenty of pita and delicious sauces were included. Staff were so kind and friendly. Got to spend the afternoon/evening on the beach and still had a great family meal, all I had to do was warm the meatballs and pita! Everyone enjoyed it, all ages were happy and full. All for the price of 2 people at a local restaurant! We will do this again next summer for sure, and hope to stop by for a breakfast sandwich before we leave!

Amazing little spot on Johns Island! Super friendly, coffee up there with the best I've ever had, and the avocado toast and toast with jam were the perfect complement. Topped it all off with a mimosa for a perfect Sunday morning. Hemingway will definitely be part of our weekend routine!

I am so jazzed by this place! Service is amazing, the space is well done, food is even better. I enjoy the farm to table foods and their meals nutritional structures. The healthy options are flavorful and varied, but the fried chicken biscuit is just as delicious! Love the juice bar too. We are excited to try the take out dinner options soon. Will be back!

I read so much about this place. That the food was so great. I knew they changed the menu. That’s fine. I live on Johns Island so it’s not that far out of the way. I told my friend we should try a new place bc the food looked interesting and got all these great reviews. Both of us went for lunch and I’m sorry to say we were not impressed. We did not see anything on the menu that sang out to us. So that was a bad sign. My friend settled for the Chicken Caesar Wrap. I settled for the Turkey with stuffing, cranberry on Ciabatta. Not cheap! When we got served, the server asked us if we wanted some forks . When we said “ yes”. We never saw her again. And the place was not busy.My friends wrap looked like I could hv made it. Mine? Was awful. I managed to eat half. It was dry. So salty! The bread was dry and not even toasted. I couldn’t believe it. And there was hardly any cranberry sauce on it. They loaded a lot of stuffing, but hardly any turkey. For $15.95? I don’t think so.My friend told me her wrap was very mediocre. When we left she said we don’t hv to come back here.I just couldn’t believe what we were served based on these rave reviews. I mean when you go to Five Loaves?? You get a Turkey sandwich! I have been going there for years. I thought this place was going to be more like them. I’m afraid it’s not.
