After a cross country move we were so lucky to have found this practice. Dr. Rivers was extremely thorough and explained everything to us and even offered new treatment options for our senior cat. The staff was welcoming, friendly and prompt. As a non breeding cat mom, I am thankful that my cat has this level of care. Thank you!!!

I bring my two border collies here and the level of service is top notch. Dr. Pratt and the technicians go above and beyond to make sure my dogs are comfortable and enjoy each visit, and treat your pets as if they are their own!

We have switched to Angel Oak because we had a little emergency with our dog and they were so great with him, that we have decided to make them our new vet. We have had our first regular appointment with them and they are just great!!!

Dr Laura at Angel Oak was so protective of our sweet pup and incredibly thorough and skilled during our labradoodle's surgery. She was so patient to answer all our questions. We are incredibly thankful for her expertise and kindness.

Hands down the most thorough, caring, loving, and invested staff I have ever worked with anywhere since adopting my first puppy in 2010. Dr. Pratt and staff treat their puppy patients as if they are their own.

My kitty was limping and we were new to the practice. We were given an appointment the same morning. Very personable on the phone. Dr River's was exceptionally professional and wonderful in how she treated Misty my cat and me. The staff is very friendly and professional. I am so very pleased with Angel Oak Animal HOSPITAL, We will be bringing on Misty's sister Molly next week. I highly recommend this practice.

Cannot recommend this vet enough. I’ve been taking my dog here since he was a puppy and he’s almost 7 now. The staff is incredibly kind and knowledgeable. My dog always gets the best care and I always feel comfortable asking questions.

Angel Oak has been our vet since we came to Kiawah over three year ago. They have been fantastic and have always treated our two dogs as family. We recently had to put our last dog down due to severe lung cancer. It is always a difficult situation but the staff made it a loving experience. Thank you Angel Oak.

We are new to the island and came here with my 10 year old dog who has some health issues. The entire staff starting with my initial call all the way to our follow up visit was absolutely the best. It’s so clear how much they all love animals and they made my girl feel so special. Thank you guys for being the BEST!!!!

I was very impressed by the kindness and professionalism of the Angel Oak Animal Hospital team! I was able to get an appointment for our sweet lab quickly. Dr. Pratt was very thorough and not rushed during our visit. My lab enjoyed all her cookies and will be happy to return for her check-up! It was refreshing to have genuine customer service. Thank you!

My pup is always taken care of here. As a first time dog owner I feel very comfortable with taking my pup to Angel Oak. There have been many times in the past year that I have needed to be squeezed in the day of for an appointment and they have accommodated it. I feel so comfortable with Deborah, Dr. River ‘s, and the vet tech staff. My at home when he visits the vet clinic. I think the most important thing about having is at home for your pet is to have the comfort of knowing that in an emergency you will be able to be seen and during routine check up appointments you are heard. I always feel that way when I go to Angel Oak Hospital. If you are looking for a home for your pet and a great vet clinic. This is the place to be.

The staff and service were great, Dr. Pratt talked me through eve eery step of Peyton's exam. She called me with the results and discussed them in detail with me. My prior vet wasn't as thorough, and I really appreciated the time and consideration they gave me. I recommend anyone with a pet to take them to Angel Oak.

The staff is friendly and the facility is nice and conveniently located but the prices are ridiculous. They obviously care about the animals but caring doesn’t excuse a bill over 500 dollars for booster shots and a years worth of heart-worm. I had my first bad experience a year ago when my dog hurt her knee and I was told to go to a surgeon that quoted me a price of $4000. I got the surgery done for 1000 elsewhere. I am now moving and need to fly my dogs. I wanted to get them completely up to date with shots. So this time I called ahead to ask what this would cost. Thy quoted me around 350 dollars which seemed high but not unreasonable. So I get to the counter after getting it all done and guess what......$549. To provide some perspective. My dog had a knee replacement surgery for $1000 dollars. Sorry guys. I know they care about the animals but this is bad practice and I feel like This was a bait and switch. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

First time visit and I'm confident we have found our new care center for our fur babies. Very welcoming front desk, tech was extremely friendly, Dr. Pratt took the time to show me what she was reviewing. Price was fair and not inflated like most vet offices on and around John's Island. We will be taking all 3 of our pups here going forward.

We recently brought home a new 8-week-old Lab puppy. I called Angel Oak (as new clients) to make his first appointment, a couple of weeks out. Before we could go for that first appointment, we started the puppy in training classes. On the first day of classes, we were informed that we needed to provide a negative fecal test in order for the puppy to be around other dogs. I panicked a bit, as we had not even been seen yet by Angel Oak. I called them and, without hesitation. they worked us in that same morning to do the fecal test, as well as the exam and shots he was supposed to have at his upcoming first appointment. We took him in and were treated in such a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner by Dr. Rivers and other staff members. My husband and I were so impressed and grateful that the office accommodated us at the last minute, especially since we were not yet established clients. Our very first experience there confirmed that we made the right decision in choosing Angel Oak for the care of our puppy, as well as our older dog. We look forward to continuing to build a great relationship with them!

After moving from Montana we found it difficult finding a vet that seamed to really care for our pets as much as we do! I felt very safe with them and couldn’t be more happy that we found someone we can finally trust!

Everyone was so kind and helpful. We ended up having to take our kitty to the emergency vet and the doctor got it all set up for us. She sent over the X-rays and called them to fill them in about everything they found. Would definitely recommend!

Angel Oak Vet was able to get my kitty an appointment in a timely manner when I had an urgent issue. The veterinarian discussed all of my concerns with me thoroughly and truly made me feel like her only patient at that time! She provided thoughtful input on how to prevent the issue in the future. Everyone I interacted with was so friendly, and I really appreciated the follow up call a week later to see how my kitty was doing post visit. I would definitely recommend bringing your pets to this office!

We love Angel Oak Veterinary hospital. We have been taking our two dogs there for two years and they have never disappointed us. They are thorough and take their time and explain things. They are also reasonably priced for high quality service. I would definitely recommend!

10/10 experience. Had an emergency with my sister’s dog who lives out of town and Amy and Dr. Rivers accommodated us. Unfortunate circumstances but couldn’t have asked for better experience. Will recommend your office to anyone looking!

The Angel Oak team is wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone! I never wait when I have an appointment and even as a newer patient they know my dog and I right away when I call in, which is so nice. I also appreciated the support and education they provided when my dog was a puppy. It was above and beyond. Sometimes they're prices are a bit higher than other vets, but you absolutely get what you pay for here!

We just moved to the area and our poor guy got an ear infection. A neighbor recommended Angel Oak Vet. We were able to get an appointment the next day. They took good care of our boy and made care recommendations based on our new location. I appreciate their use of technology and COVID precautions. We submitted our dogs medical history ahead of time. When we arrived we called into the office, we spoke with a tech who asked more questions and then she came out to get our dog from the vehicle. Once the exam was complete the vet came out and spoke with us about her findings and recommendations for care.

My dog received all of her vet care at Angel Oak for ten years, and I was completely satisfied. Unfortunately, things have changed drastically. In July of last year, my dog became extremely ill. I called Angel Oak at once. I believe I spoke to a woman named Charlotte, and she told me that despite my dog being suddenly ill, that they couldn’t see her because they were, and I quote, “Closing at 4:00 today, and everyone really wants to go home early.” It was only 2:00 when I called. It was the second time we’d been turned away from care from this office. The first taking place in June of 2019 for a dog bite. 10 years of loyalty, tens of thousands in vet bills over that time (all paid immediately after all visits), and my dog is denied medical care twice.Instead of being able to take my dog to a familiar place with familiar faces, I was forced to take her to the 24 vet care in West Ashley. My dog had emergency surgery to remove a spleen full of tumors & received a blood transfusion. She was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, and I was told she had, at best, a few weeks left. The coldness and complete disregard for my pet’s health at Angel Oak was shocking. One thing that particularly disturbed me was that the emergency vet was in contact with Angel Oak to share records, so I know AO was sent information about her case. We never received a single phone call from AO to check on my dog post-surgery, and no communication from them at all, despite their patient being terminal. The people tasked with her care didn’t give a damn that she’d been sick, had major surgery, and had been diagnosed with cancer. In fact, I received relentless automated appointment reminders from AO after after my dog had passed away, 5 weeks later. All of these glowing reviews of AO make me realize that, for reasons completely unknown to me, I and my beloved dog were not just ignored, but aggressively turned away. Shame on AO for behaving the way they did. And pet parents, just know that if anyone has a bad day at AO, you could be treated the way we were. Keep the emergency vet on your speed dial. Because the folks at AO don’t care about your family pet, or the devastation of losing one.In response to their defense, below, no one knew what could be wrong with my dog at the AO office when we were turned away. I told the woman who spoke to me that my dog was bloated & lethargic, and she cut me off immediately & didn’t even let me finish talking. As you refused to even set eyes on her, you had no idea what kind of care she needed. Behaving as if you knew she needed an invasive surgery is simply a lie. She could have had an upset GI system for all you or I know. No one at the office referred me to the pet ER. It was a common sense next step for us, and AO gets zero credit for that. And as it was abundantly clear that AO could no longer be trusted, I moved her from AO to a veterinarian downtown, who, incidentally, invited me and my dog to their office the day after I called. I spoke at length with a vet there, and was met with compassion and concern. The whole staff was incredibly kind, and they laid out my dog’s prognosis and treatment options for me, and pointed me towards several things that would help her feel her best for as long possible.Regarding her records, after she was diagnosed at the ER, they asked where I’d like her records sent. Though wildly disappointed in how my dog was treated at AO, I didn’t have another vet at that time, so requested her records continue to be sent to your office. And if AO had already dropped her as a patient, why was I getting appointment reminders after her surgery and subsequent death? My dog’s health crisis was completely ignored that day by your office. Attempting to defend the cruel actions AO took that day is desperate and pathetic. What it all comes down to is that AO didn’t do their due diligence in caring for an animal that desperately needed their help that day.

We chose Angel Oak Animal Hospital by random, but we couldn’t be happier with our choice. We visit frequently as we brought home 2 puppies this year! We are always greeted with friendliness, professionalism, and most importantly compassion by all staff members! Thankful to have such a great place to care for our pups.
