I recently dined at Refuge restaurant and was impressed by the delicious food they offer. The flavors were exceptional, and each dish was prepared with care. However, I must mention that the service was quite slow. Despite the amazing food, the wait time for our meals was over an hour, which was disappointing. Despite this setback, I am willing to give Refuge another chance because of the quality of their cuisine. Hopefully, they can improve their service efficiency to match the excellence of their food. I look forward to returning and experiencing a smoother dining experience in the future.

Met friends for dinner. The food was outstanding. Service was friendly and professional though we had to share menus. It took a bit to get drinks but we did have water while waiting. They had a band in the bar but it became too loud in the restaurant. Something acoustic might be a better choice. We opted to skip dessert since it was so loud.

Never again… I decided to forgo my review my first time coming to the refuge due to the horrible waiter and 1 hour long wait for our food when less than half of the establishment was full. The place is filthy and the waiter is horrible. I was charged for items I never received and also charged a credit card fee when I paid cash. Our waiter had the personality of a stick. No sorry , no checking in to see if we needed anything. Our table was covered in jelly and he acted as though it was an issue to wipe our table. I am shocked that there would be any repeat guests. Save your money and go to Sullivan’s island or ACME for breakfast lunch or dinner, and definitely switch sections if you get the male waiter, both times he was miserable and mean. To top off our horrible breakfast I asked to speak to the manager and he or she never came over.

We dined here a year ago when we visited and stayed in Wild Dunes before moving to Mount Pleasant. It did not disappoint and was as wonderful this time as it was then! Had a very nice waitress that was super attentive and charming. We started with the BLT deviled eggs, and had been dreaming about them since the last time, phenomenal! I had a Surf and Turf - lamb chop and lobster that was divine, and the wife tried etoufett and thought it was good. Dessert was a Heath Bar bread pudding that was dynamite! I am so amazed that there are 4 restaurants right next to each other in this plaza and all seem to do good business. Love the Charleston area!

IMPRESSIVE! Loved our breakfast so much that we went back for dinner later that same night. Staff was friendly and attentive and food was outstanding! The steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were very tasty. Make sure you save room for the Heath bar bread pudding and key lime pie. Both were some of the best desserts we have had.

The Refuge is a good little breakfast spot located in a little shopping center on the Island of Palms in South Carolina. Our waitress was super nice, helpful and attentive even with a large party. The menu is very wide and they were very accommodating with small adjustments. Some of the standouts were the triggerfish sandwhich, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and the breakfast burrito. If you’re staying on the island for an extended period of time, make sure you stop by!

The food here is absolutely amazing. Fresh and full of flavor. Definitely love coming here to celebrate something or just a nice dinner with family. I’ve come here a couple times and I’ve had Danica and Katie so far. Absolutely amazing girls so sweet and beautiful girl, they’ve made everything experience I’ve had there incredible. Will definitely be coming there a lot more often.

After a few hours at the beach, my husband and I decided to try one of the nearby food places and this one was great! It’s a cute little place but a wide variety menu. Our server was kind and the food was great! I got the omelette (pictured) and my husband got the chicken sandwich. There was even live music! Definitely a nice quick stop!

Went here just after landing in Charleston for vacation! Place had lots to offer and server was good. Had the monte cristo sandwich and summer in Maine drink. Both very good!

Came here and got brunch at the Refuge. We ordered a flight of mimosa’s. The pineapple mimosa was delicious. We got an Egg Sandwich, which came with cubed potato (named home fries on the menu.) We also got the Hometown Breakfast, which had some thick slices of bacon that were nice and crispy. I would recommend this to others visiting Isle of Palms in South Carolina.

Excellent spot in Isle of Palms! We visited on a Friday evening and the restaurant was actually quieter than expected, but it was early in the evening. I enjoyed a special of southwestern scallops with goat cheese grits - absolutely delicious. My husband enjoyed the Shrimp Pesto pasta dish and was equally pleased. We topped off the meal with their bread pudding and there was not a single bite left behind! Great place to visit while on the Isle of Palms!

Atmosphere much more pleasant than its neighbor restaurant; tables spaced to allow conversation. Very pleasant and efficient servers, even during the busy summer vacation season. Food overall a five, though for some reason the risotto is always undercooked.Parking: Parking lot is shared with several other businessesWheelchair accessibility: Easy ramp from parking lot to front door. Wide door. Much room between tables.

Stumbled across this gem on our first trip to Isle of Palms. In the corner of a strip plaza, it is easy to drive past. First pleasant surprise was how comfortable and nice it is inside. We arrived at about 12:30 and sat at the bar. Second surprise, both breakfast and lunch may be ordered 'til 2PM. My wife order the Cesar wrap from the lunch menu and I got the Mexican skillet from The breakfast menu. Both were expertly prepared and delicious. Totally satisfying!

A meal at this price point should be better than mediocre in an area full of restaurants and I was unimpressed with the experience. The meal did not start off well as it took 13 minutes (I timed it) from when we were seated to when we were first approached by a waitress bring water to the table. There were 4 members of our party and each of us had a different item off of the menu. The risotto was fine but nothing amazing. The French onion soup was good though a bit salty. The short rib melt had good flavor but the texture was gooey and made the bread soggy in the middle. The filet was very good and would be the one dish I tried that I could reccomend. Our waitress was friendly but did not seem well versed in the menu items or draft beer list. I had the pain killer cocktail that had 3 different levels of alcohol that that you could order for 3 different prices. I ordered the standard one and could not taste (or feel) any alcohol in the drink. The flavor was great, but I expect to be able to at least taste a little alcohol in my $10 cocktail. Overall, our dining experience was not one that we enjoyed enough to come back for round two.

I just came for the coffee shop side - so i can’t speak to the restaurant. But the coffee shop was clean and the service was fast and friendly! Great selection of syrup flavors and enough seating inside :)

Great breakfast. Had biscuits and gravy. Elevated taste for all elements. Coffee was smooth and balanced. Service was great. Two adults plus one child $42 before tip. But with food this good, I'd say well worth it.

I’ve come in on a few separate occasions and I always either ask for Dani or Katie. They are amazing and always take amazing care of us. They are detailed oriented and are always check in to make sure we are still good and that the food was prepared the way we want. The food is always amazing and not too long of a wait, this is by far one of the best restaurants on iop
