I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff’s customer service was top notch, and the room was clean and spacious. Some of the restaurants were closed earlier than expected, but I’m assuming that’s due to being out of season. My room was ADA, with a wood mat flooring topper on the balcony to create an even service to the door’s threshold allowing me easy wheelchair access in and out. This is the first time I have seen this at a hotel, and it was a major highlight, as I love enjoying my morning coffee out on the balcony. Speaking of coffee, the complementary coffee choices were great as well.I would highly recommend this hotel, and will stay again in the future.

The entire hallway of our floor, including our room smells like urine. It is so disgusting to turn the corner from the elevator and smell urine. Every light requires you to turn on and off individually. They give you a bath mat and rug but neither can be down in the bathroom and allow you to open the toilet room door so you have to move them back and forth every time you need to use the toilet. We asked for no housekeeping and instead of making a note, they told us to put out our sign. We did, but one morning we noticed our sign was missing so we asked the Concierge for a new sign. She told us she would make a note. Got back to our room to find the do not disturb on the inside of our room and our room rearranged by housekeeping. Very frustrating. If you like to unpack into drawers, there is very little drawer space. The beds are like a board, not relaxing at all. Overall, a disappointing experience.

What an amazing resort. The rooms have priceless views. The staff is next to none. I stayed here for a conference and loved every minute of it. I thought the price was a little high until I got there and saw all that was included. Now I would pay double. I will definitely take my family back to this resort for a visit. I highly recommend this place.

Our first two nights were at the Boardwalk and we requested to be moved to Sweetwater. We gave up our suite for a standard room because it was dated and had a musty smell to it. We were delighted with our room at Sweetwater. Newer, modern look and feel. Much cleaner. You're isolated out there and the restaurant options are limited and don't get the best reviews. We drove to downtown Charleston for dinner every night. Very annoying that you basically have no choice to valet because the only parking lot available maybe has room for approximately 30+ cars. It's a two lane road in and out and can get congested at times. They have no coffee in the Sweetwater lobby. There is a coffee shop within the properties little shopping strip. We walked in and look around while 4 or 5 employees stood there chatting with one another and we went completely ignored so we walked out. Wasn't fun waking up and walking in the rain to get a cup of coffee first thing in the morning.

Stayed for my birthday with my family - Had an incredible trip all around. Massage and Sweetgrass Spa was the highlight by far - I wish I could have a massage by Raymond every day! Already booked my next appointment for the end of march when I travel again from NY!The food at Coastal Provisions was literally scrumptious - staff was super friendly and the place is immaculate -Tom Nolan helped plan an incredible memoryTHANK YOU

Stayed at Sweetgrass Inn Rm. 241. Right next to main sewage line with no insulation in walls. Hear flushing all night. Last night, someone's toilet (or shower) ran the entire night preventing me from sleeping. Woke me up at 3:30 AM and finally stopped at 7:25 AM. Terrible building design. Difficult to have a nice vacation if you can't sleep.

Beautiful resort located at Wild Dunes on The Isle of Palms. We were attending the Wild Dunes Authors event and the setting was perfect. The reception area has comfortable lounge groupings to visit, enjoy a book or just relax. The various events were catered by the Inn and were beautifully displayed. All the food was delicious.

We’ve loved every minute of being here until 7 pm on the fifth floor. A wedding reception is taking place on the sixth floor. Our quiet night in and weekend away from kids has turned into hearing the complete playlist of the above said reception along with all of the stomping and dancing. Disappointed because no offer of compensation, but the offer of sending security. Word to the wise. Don’t stay on the fifth floor UNLESS you enjoy paying $250 to hear a DJ spin a playlist and the sound of people wearing cinder blocks on their feet stomping and dancing. I would expect this at a Holiday Inn, but not here.

We have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn many times. We always loved those stays. We could not be more disappointed with the Sweetgrass Inn. It is nothing like the Boardwalk. Very, very, very loud! The walls are paper thin and you can hear the person peeing in the room next to you. The guests at the hotel walk up and down the halls speaking very loudly all day and night. The pool is a screaming hot pot for children. There is no place for peace and quiet and relaxation at this hotel. I felt like I was at Myrtle Beach, not the peaceful and relaxing Wild Dunes that I had loved. Finally, this is not an oceanfront hotel. You can not see the ocean at all except from the rooftop bar which is only open at night and extremely pricey with limited food options.Additionally, I was given a gift card for my stay. In the middle of the visit, someone zeroed out the balance. I went to the front desk multiple times for an explanation and nobody could give me one. No one seemed to care or remedy the situation when I explained that I had not spent all of the money one the card. I would not stay in this hotel again.

We was here for a week. This wasn't were we was supposed to stay if you read my other review you will see we was put here due to a nasty condo. We love the room very roomy. Everyday we have room service. Location is great walk right down to the beach and pools are nice and clean. I think food and drinks are over priced. 35 dollars a day to park and resort fees and taxes are just a little to much

I have to start off by saying I was originally put in a condo that turned out to be horrible my travel agent reached out to Sweetgrass Inn less then a hour we was moved here. Thank God. This place is clean and beautiful and everyone is so friendly. Plenty of room in our king size room. Just a whole different vibe. I have to say the Manager Hayden made this happen He was so nice and understanding. He went above and beyond to make our experience for our 10th Anniversary a good one

This hotel has potential. First-rate facilities. First-rate location. Mid-tier service staff. It appears they rely heavily on high school and college kids during the summer. They put them in places of first impression. Valet staff, front desk staff, etc. Unfortunately, many of them could use better training on customer service. From the overwhelmed (and moody) valets to the front desk attendants who could not answer basic questions, it was wildly apparent these folks needed aa bit more training. Other service staff was phenomenal. You just had to get past the valets and front desk folks. All in all, a great resort hotel. Just needs some fine tuning.

We stayed in a penthouse at Sweetgrass Inn this week and loved it. The room was great, food on site was way better than expected (including some incredible meals and a few not memorable), and the beach and pool were wonderful. Busy though and the noise of spring breakers outside at night and at 3am woke us up a few nights. Overall, will come back and the entire Wild Dunes area is beautiful!

We booked this room a week ago and they said it would be here and with a balcony and a pool view. We get here after a 4 hour ride and we get moved down the road to another property. We have to walk up the road to here to get to a pool. We get to the other motel they sent us too. There's no balcony at all no pool view. And it was $600 a night. With no other options and not wanting to miss our only chance for a vacation we are staying. The manager could only say that he'd listen to the call we made for the reservation, which we call directly to this place not boardwalk where we were sent. We weren't even offered a discount. Just told we can walk to the next motel up if we wanna swim etc.

2nd time booking Sweetgrass Inn, first time in 2022, our stay was immaculate. This time, booked online, called in advance and specifically requested a room at Sweetgrass, upon arrival and after unloading all luggage and guests, I was told by the front desk that there were no rooms available and that I’d be moved to another building down the street. The building was of lesser quality, not renovated and prices significantly lower than the room that I had already booked and paid for. The hotel lobby was empty, no guests checking in, there was no way the hotel was completely booked. David Hatchel* the manager on duty was incredibly rude and dismissive. I felt that I was being racially profiled and lied to. I called the online booking reservation team and they confirmed that there was indeed vacancy at the Sweetgrass Inn and apologized for the inconvenience. They contacted David on my behalf, I discussed this with him as well and he was ‘forced’ to accommodate my stay at Sweetgrass. I confirmed that David was untruthful about the hotel vacancy for the evening and that he denied me access to the room that I paid for. Thank you to the online reservation specialist that immediately advocated for me and worked diligently to find a solution. I refuse to patronize this place again. It’s a beautiful hotel in an amazing location but this type of leadership at the front desk is a disgrace to the entire organization.

First time staying here, we normally stay at Boardwalk, and not having kids we should have stayed there this time as well. Definitely not as quiet and relaxing but with all the kids that's expected. No room service was very disappointing. We had to change rooms and each room had an issue. In one room the fridge didn't get very cold, in the other room the bathroom fan didn't work but the staff handles everything promptly. Thin walls allow you to hear the room next door. Some balconies stick out further than others allowing you to easily look into the next room. The balcony is only separated by a cheap piece of slatted panel allowing you to see your neighbor and the noise of cross conversation chatter is irritating. . Just outside of the room where the icemaker was had a board missing from the floor and the moulding was sticking out of the wall and could have easily injured someone not paying attention but they had it fixed by the evening.I think Boardwalk spoiled us. This is not at all a bad place to stay, we are just used to a little more. It's definitely great for families and kids. The rooms are very nice and the showers are large with big bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. It's a long walk to the beach so don't forget your beach wagon. Reserve beach chairs and umbrella a day ahead if possible. If eating on the property, Hudsons is great for coffee, breakfast, sandwiches and snacks. Coastal pizza is good but don't expect a lot of toppings. The view of the property from the balcony was very beautiful. You can see the ocean from the 4th floor, not much of it, but some. The staff is always great, helpful and seems genuine to assist with anything you need.

Mediocre and overpriced! They call themselves a resort and charge a resort fee but there is no pool service nor the pool bar has any servers!Very disappointing overall! Some restaurants close early but nobody tells you that! Also some restaurants don’t even serve food because their equipment are not working! Food in most restaurants are very basic and don’t match the descriptions on the menu! Will not recommend coming here! It’s just a mess and not somewhere you can relax! The one star given is for the friendly staff only!Food & drinks: Overpriced and mediocre!

Do not stay on floor 5! It’s below the weddings and is super loud until 11 pm with dancing and after with take down. Until 1:00 am. Loud as in your bed shakes. How about putting those wedding guest below the party?Rooms are great. I can tell the front desk hears this complaint all the time. So fix it!

Beautiful hotel. Room was great. Complimentary valet was wonderful. The food was delicious, especially the pizza. The main pool was always crowded with kids but the swim club was the perfect place to swim. Loved how close it was to the beach. If you are going to stay on the top floor, it might be loud from event space above. Also walls are paper thin and you can hear every word neighbors say. Staff were great. We had a good time but will go somewhere quieter next time

Wow! We have stayed at a lot of resorts on the east side of the country. This place can’t be topped! It’s luxurious without being stuffy and great prices for what you get.The food is REALLY good (PEI Irish Pointe Oysters, cornbread croutons, Huey’s chicken sandwich with unreal breading, and seared tuna were all outstanding.)We did a lot of activities-Links course was great (although we could’ve used more visits by the cart girl,) the bikes and tennis courts are easy to rent, everything is centrally located. We loved the adults-only pool. But plan to come back with our babies- lots of families. It’s impressive how the resort caters to both crowds. The rooms and property are decorated with a fun modern beach flare.10/10 for us.

There is absolutely ZERO soundproofing, nor is there anything to slow the room doors from crashing shut loudly. For such a nice looking hotel, I have never slept as badly as in this place. From 4 AM to 8 AM as people started waking every morning, I laid awake hearing doors slamming as loud as a dump truck right outside my door. You will hear the doors from the floors above and below you even.

This place is not what they are marketing! You're paying huge waterfront resort prices to stay in an apartment at an outlet mall! Not relaxing, staff is not helpful or accomodating. It's as if they know this place is a rip off and are tired of the complaints! Will not work with you at all!! We left and booked a regular holiday inn express for the same type of experience at half the cost!

Beautiful new resort in Wild Dunes! Great pools and really nice conference facilities. Above all else, they haven't lost their sense of top notch customer service and attentiveness with the expansion. Poolside bar is is great, and though they are a bit understaffed at the moment, the servers are friendly and engaging. My company has had their conference here at Wild Dunes three times, and I suspect that we will have many more in the coming years. Entire staff does a great job of serving our guests and ensuring that everything goes without any problems. My only complaint is that the bars and restaurants close a bit earlier that I would prefer.
