We rented a property managed by Island Realty on IOP. The house was dirty and the pool was filthy. It took days for them to resolve, even after I contacted the owner Island Realty. They stated they knew there were issues with the pool company and it took numerous calls and a drive to their office to get them to call out a different pool company. They are in the hospitality business but come short of representing any hospitality services. Horrible communication as I had to follow up numerous times by text, phone, and drive in person to their office. Our vacation was ruined. It was more stress than relaxation at this beach getaway.Additionally, the owner responded inaccurately on some parts to this. There were no storms in the area leading up to our stay, as I have family in the area and they aren't sure what storm was being referenced. The issue was more than skimming the pool. A dozen people staying at the house felt unsafe using the pool. Unfortunately, the company is taking this very lightly as they did when we contacted them immediately about the issue and continued to contact them the following days. Communications with them required me to stay on top of this matter, even when I asked for timely responses they fell short. They did respond to my communications but with short unclear responses. They did credit us back a night, but as I told them multiple times that didn't help make things better and we were out from using amenities for multiple days!

Great vacation! The condo was equipped with so many conveniences, even dish soap and a scrub sponge. The view was beautiful from our balcony. I can't wait to stay with them again next year!

We rented Grand Pavilion 130. Pictures are not up to date on the Island Reality site. MUSTY Smell when entering was a huge clue that we had been deceived by Island Reality. Missing comforters, disrepair ofproperty, torn off baseboards / cabinets, dirty carpet, old beds, mold in and around showers / bathrooms, along with a visit to the ER for an allergic reaction had my family leaving early. When we arrived we immediately asked for another property but no availability. We were stuck. No one stayed for the full week. Attached are pictures.

Update: the response from the only after this review but their classic response ‘we can’t find your reservation’ haha! Yeah right they know me well! Ask everyone in the office! Nice try!Where do we begin? For a house that cost almost $8k the condition of it was disgraceful. It did not reflect the pictures on the website. In full disclosure we did receive a partial refund. Not even half though. What you don’t see in the pictures is the nightly wake up call from rodents in the walls scratching. . The carpets were disgusting. The outdoors were filthy. The bedspreads not washed. Oven that didn’t close and a partial working stove. Do not rent 10 Beachwood west! I wouldn’t use island realty again unfortunately. After not going anywhere for 2 years we had so much riding on this trip. It was sad. 1985 called they want you to do some repairs and take this house off the market. They won’t let you write an honest review on their website either. So check out Yelp & BBB. I wish I had. I could go on and on but you get the picture!

We enjoyed our stay at 404 Palm Blvd. in IOP so much! The house was clean and organized. Plenty of towels for 5 guests. And we LOVED having a washer and dryer. The house was spacious and allowed for so many good memories. We didn’t have any issue with Island Reality management. This was the easiest and most stress free vacation because of our beach house. I would definitely work with them again for a beach rental.

Stayed on Sand Dune Lane and loved it! Property was quite close to the beach, perfect for the kid, and Island Team as on top of their game, we needed absolutely nothing from them as they had it perfect from top to bottom. Many thanks!

We rented August 24-28. 2023. At the Sea Cabins 311A. The cabin was amazing. The view was spectacular.I have to say that everything was perfect even when the coffee pot stopped on the second day they had me a new one in an hour, plus the young man looked at the sliding door for us as he seen me struggling a little to close it.We are already looking ahead to stay next year. I do have one wish the parking passes I wish that you could get two or pay for an extra we did have to spend for parking.Thank you so much.Catherine and David Outlaw

We stayed in a condo in Wild Dunes at Shipwatch. We had a great time and could not have been happier. The place was really nice and we all had a fantastic time. We've booked with Island Realty before and it's always been a good experience.We had an issue during the middle of our weeklong stay with a major water leak coming from another unit two floors above ours. This unit was not managed by Island Realty. The line coming into their water heater came apart and lots of water leaked into all the units below and into the parking area below.We called Island Realty and they were super responsive about getting it all cleaned up and taken care of. They had ServePro in there quickly, got all the water up and had some air movers in there to dry everything up. It wasn't ideal, but it did not stop us from enjoying our vacation.Issues will happen. It's about how those issues are taken care of. They impressed me with their response and did the best they could to make sure it didn't disrupt our vacation. I can only imagine how this situation could have gone if we had been staying in a VRBO or Airbnb.Thanks Island Realty! We will see you next summer!

Our family has faithfully used Island Realty on the Isle of Palms every single year for over 30 years. We have rented houses and condos. The last reservation we made with Island Realty was for a stay at the Sea Cabins and the trip was a gift to a family member. This was a 3-night stay that cost over $750. We are very familiar with the limited space in the Sea Cabins (as some summers we have rented as many as 4 of these units at a time for our family), but have always felt that the seaside balconies add just the right touch to keep things open and roomy feeling.During this last stay, without any prior knowledge, there was construction on the balcony during the entire trip. At one point a man was literally on the small balcony right outside of the sliding glass door of the condo.We were restricted from the balcony and in turn the ocean front amenity.We contacted Island Realty after the trip and first spoke to Cooper who was very polite and had us contact Daniel. Daniel never returned our call. We contacted Cooper again and he gave us Daniel’s email address. We again heard nothing from Daniel. Cooper then forwarded our email to Lynda Hodge. Lynda kindly replied to the email, but very obviously had not even taken the time to thoroughly read it as her reply contained inaccurate information reflecting this.It is so frustrating to know that there is no one who can be reached who actually values the loyal business of someone who has a very valid issue with the handlings of the establishment. I was not going to write a review until now as we consider our options for our summer vacation on the IOP. Sadly, we do not want to deal with Island Realty based on our last experience.The island is a small place with many visitors and I suppose those who work at Island Realty feel they do not have to pay attention to one family’s bad experience.

With COVID-19, we thought the rental company was taking extra precautions with cleaning and coming into contact with guests, but that was definitely not the case.The house was very poorly cleaned. We had to wipe down the entire kitchen, since crumbs were present, to ensure surfaces were disinfected. We found piles of candy wrappers (zoomed in photo shows also a [possibly used] tampon applicator) and a Solo cup of water underneath and beside beds.Because of that, we decided to wash all of our bedspreads (and later saw reviews that confirmed they don't wash the bedspreads [terrible protocol during a global pandemic]). The washer soaked everything then threw an error.We called the next morning about the washer & that the pool pump was also not functioning. They said they knew about the pool pump but just hadn't had time to get to it.(The online booking tool showed a vacancy the whole week prior to our stay). They'd send someone out to clean the pool for us instead and have someone come out for the washer.They did let us know when the 1st maintenance person was coming so we could be distanced. He decided that the hot water line wasn't properly connected to the washer & that he'd need a second person to help him move them to assess that. The property manager on call called to assure me they'd try to fix the washer tomorrow when it was no longer the weekend. In the meantime, we could use the local drop off laundromat & send them the bill. She told me that the actual property manager for our home would call to follow up with how to get reimbursed properly & make things right. I NEVER heard from anyone in property management again. Not even to confirm when maintenance people just randomly showed up on the property. This is a terrible practice: we wanted to avoid being around others as much as possible due to COVID-19, and the rental company doesn't seem to have any issue with possibly having an unauthorized person on the property - endangering their assets, their staff, and their guests.Isle of Palms is a lovely little place but we will definitely not be using Island Realty if we return.

Rented condo 4D Mariner’s Walk week of August 28th. Condo needs a deep cleaning. Floors in bathrooms and bedrooms were dirty and could see kids fingerprints on picture above couch in den. Loved the view from our porch and the pool was very nice.

We had a great trip to Isle of Palms! The whole family loved it, the place we stayed off 28th Ave was a 2 story Duplex and was super nice, nothing crazy, but more than enough for our family of 5, and very reasonable. We were very happy and had a wonderful trip! The staff was great!

My family has spent all of summers in iop. Island Realty has always been wonderful to work with. We love renting out the sea cabins! You can't go wrong with the view! Can't wait to go back!

Stayed at 310 Carolina Blvd, Isle of Palms, SC.-When we checked the beds in the biggest bed room, there were stains on the pillow, comforter, and the pillow cases. I will let you decide what you think the stain was. We changed out the comforter with another one in the closet that also turned out to have stains on it. In the "check out" instructions they make it clear to leave the comforters on the bed, so who knows the last time they have been washed.-The house overall is nice. The TV's in the bed rooms are no bigger than 12 inches and the living room TV is around 24 inches. The living room remote was broken and missing several buttons. You will have to use a fork or knife to press the buttons on the remote.The living room is not made for relaxing or even watching TV. For a 1-3 day rental I'm sure this place would be fine but anything longer is rough.-Island Realty will charge you for any and everything. They do not provide beach towels or extra towels. If you ask for one they will charge you $5 per towel. They give you 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and 2 trash bags per trash can. Perfect for short term rentals, not for long term rentals. Washer and dryer is nice since they will not give you any extra towels but do not provide any laundry soap. They do not provide any thing besides the basic essentials, not unexpected, just wanted to give a heads up to stop at the store before going to the house.-Great location from the beach! We went on walks every night since it was only 2 blocks away. Beach is not busy at all. The outdoor shower and foot wash station was very nice to have after a trip to the beach. Got to see dolphins, sharks, and washed up jelly fish during our walks.The house is in a great area. For it being over a million dollar house, it is furnished with thrift store items. The neighbors houses are very nice. We were expecting more luxury but we really got the bare minimum.

To Island Realty’s reply: That is not true. Your maintenance department did not fix the toilet within the first call, nor did they replace the part the following day. I am confused as to why I would need to place multiple calls to fix the issue? I was on vacation to enjoy time away and not sit on the phone. I think your response should speak volumes to people as they read these reviews.I used to always recommend Island Realty for vacation rentals on IOP but I no longer will be recommending them. Our Sea Cabin did not have a properly flushing toilet and the place smelled. Reported the toilet issue to maintenance, they advised they did not have the part and would fix it the next day. They came out the following day and relayed they did not have the part and would have to order it.Once we returned home, I left my feedback per the Island Realty follow up email. I received a call from Linda and she relayed that maintenance noted that our toilet was functioning…of course.

Stayed at 14 41st the week after Christmas. Plenty of towels for the 11 ppl we had staying with us. Unit was clean. Island realty was very responsive when we asked for extra toiletries/incidentals. Check-in with a lock box was easy, check out was a breeze.

My husband and I stay at ocean Blvd condos, it was a beautiful location , thrilled with how quiet & clean this place was. Everything is with walking distance. Perfect for a quiet getaway. If I could give them a 10 star I would.. only one thing I would recommend and that’s more trash bags. Other than that they had any and everything you would need right there to cook, clean up behind yourself just loved it! 10-2-2022. Will be returning for sure. Also wonderful staff close by to help with anything. ❤️Since I can’t keep making amazing reviews about this place it’s been a year and we decided it’s time for another get away, so we booked the same condo 8-31-2023,-9-4-2023 and again this place did not disappoint! They even added extra trash bags. 😍 love, love, love this place. Great view of the beach and so private and quiet, I can’t say enough about this place!Thank you island reality for helping us “hideaway & getaway” wonderful again!! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Please do not do business with this company. I have a trip planned in April but my mom was just diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. I reached out to the company to see if we could cancel the trip and receive a refund. They told me they were sorry my mom was sick but they would not refund my money. After this conversation they canceled my booking. So, now I am out money and they canceled my booking so we wouldn’t even be able to take the trip if it were possible. For them it’s all about money. Please, give your money to a company that has a heart and doesn’t just see dollar signs. Life is so short.

I just signed a lease for a condo represented by Island Realty. Matt Creedy, the person I worked with, is making it clear that great customer service is not dead but alive and well at this company. I am getting small town treatment and being made to not only feel welcome but appreciated. I can't recommend this company strongly enough.

Imagine Thanksgiving dinner, great house with terrific ocean front view, 13 people and lots of food! Now imagine the refrigerator going out and what could happen from there. What did happen was excellent concierge service from Island Realty and a great holiday with family. I will always recommend Island Realty and a special thanks to Zack Stone.

Two of our friends, my girlfriend and I had a rental that we were going to stay in starting September 29th through the second of October of 2022 at Isle of Palms. Our two friends booked this for us all in late August of 2022 via Island Realty. Little did we all know Hurricane Ian had different plans.We know that a full refund was probably out of the question but Island Realty wouldn't even consider a PARTIAL refund for this uncontrollable act of nature. We are all from Florida and have experience with hurricanes and know how dangerous and variable they can be. I would think that just a partial refund would be justifiable given the circumstance.If you're going to book through Island Realty and have something similar happen know that they don't or won't give you even a little bit of your money back.

DO NOT RENT THROUGH THESE PEOPLE. BUYER BEWARE!!!!Worst rental experience we've ever had and I've rented places all through out the SC coast for years. An entire week this past summer with no working air conditioning. We called the office daily, sometimes several times daily, and they refused to send out a real HVAC company to fix the issue. Instead they sent a handyman, because that's the only guy/company the homeowner would pay for. He had no tools, no way to check compressor levels. He wasn't an HVAC tech! He said he "couldn't find a problem". We said, "OK, but the AC doesn't work". So dude there is a problem! Literally the office responded by saying "we don't control which vendors are homeowners use". They thought they did their job because they brought us portable AC units, which didn't work. The front desk people were super weird when we checked in saying to each other "did they fix the problem over there" discretely, but not, because I could hear them. I didn't put it together until later that week that they knew the AC was broke but rented to us anyways!I would NEVER book through this company. Choose any other company.

I’m giving 5 stars because everything was great with Island Realty. Booking was a breeze on their website. Emails to follow were informative and I only received one to confirm and one closer to the arrival date with arrival information and again for check out. So nice to not be bombarded with useless email. Now. The house! We enjoyed our house. There were 6 girls and we all had our own beds. We had 3503 Cameron on Isle of Palms. It was plenty big enough. Our only small complaint was that the coffee maker in the house was not clean (moldy from being wet in the tank) and the sheets on one of the beds was pretty thin. We called and explained these things and we had a new coffeemaker and sheets that afternoon. So fast and responsive. The house was clean and had what we needed. We only wished there had been a grill on the property to do burgers and dogs. But overall the group agreed we’d rent again from this company and can’t wait to return!!

We stayed at the 1018 Carolina Blvd property with a family of 10. The house was beautiful and we had plenty of room. Very clean and well maintained. Realty staff was great and quick to respond if we had needs. For example, we had internet issues like some other reviews. With a few college students trying to attend online classes it was an issue. But, the rental company had AT&T out the next day. The tech guy swapped out the modem and we were up and running right away with great signal strength. It was a dream vacation. We'll definitely be renting from them again.

We rented a two bedroom condo off the beach. The condo was very clean and wonderfully decorated. There were several historic beach photos, which were really interesting. The beach access at Oceanside was a quick and easy walk. The staff were all helpful and professional. My only complaint is that I wish there was easy to access recycling. Otherwise, it was a lovely trip and I plan to book with them again.

We have stayed in the Sea Cabins so many times that I've lost count! Love this place! 133C is a lovely cabin with a very comfortable bed, good sized TV in LR and a small one in bedroom. Great view of the ocean! Highly recommend the Sea Cabins!

The best part was working with Island Realty. They assisted us in finding the house we rented, answered all our questions, and sent reminders and phone number incase of needing further assistance during our stay. All were professional and friendly.The house is a perfect beach house and located three blocks away form the beach which made it a quiet spot to stay. The large fenced-in backyard made it easy to have our dog with us and she loved the couch to nap in.

My family as rented houses and condos from Island Realty for several years. We always can expect to have all our needs met and no unwanted surprises. If for any reason we need assistance, they make sure everything is taken care of right away. When you're on vacation, you want to make every minute count and with Island Realty you know the home is going to be clean, the kitchen's well equipped and the furnishing in general are in good shape. They also let you know how much they appreciate your business by giving 10% off rentals if you're a repeat client. Every time I've called to inquire about a property, they go out of their way to answer my questions and if they personally don't know the answer they will find out.

We've rented from Island Realty quite a few times in the past years, and have always had a good experience. Their website shows accurate photos of the properties we've rented, which is very important to me as the person responsible for selecting a vacation rental for our family. Fortunately we've never had any issues with the properties, but I would expect that the staff at Island Realty would be responsive and take care of things as quickly as possible. We rent a house at Isle of Palms every summer, and Island Realty is one of my "go to" companies.

Our stay at Seascape #516, using Island Realty for the rental, was very eventful but not in the way we would want. We were looking for a nice relaxing vacation with family; unfortunately, we were met with a VERY unpleasant time. We noticed a few things that needed attention upon arrival. The kitchen light bulb was out, a leak in the shower sprayed against the sheetrock wall outside of the shower, & the most annoying, a HIGH pitch, shrill noise coming from the upstairs bath. While there we reported all of these - the light bulb & shower were repaired; however the VERY high pitch shrill noise was not. This intermittent noise woke us up several times during the night. After receiving no action from our complaint we physically drove to Island Realty’s office & let them listen to our video. The receptionist watched & listened to my video & couldn’t believe how loud & shrill the noise was. She asked if she could take my phone & let their maintenance department listen to it. We were certain then that our problem would be fixed, however were we wrong. After trying to sleep with that HIGH pitch shrill noise another night I called for the 3rd or 4th time & complained - again receiving no relief. Finally a female returned my call & gave me some lame excuse that the VERY high pitch shrill noise was coming from the HVAC system. I knew the problem was coming from the plumbing in the upstairs bath & tried to convince her of that but she would not listen.Bottom line I asked the curt lady for them to refund us one nights lodging, she refused. But she did offer to pay for a stay in a motel a short distance from the beach with no kitchen. I politely declined. We’ve used Island Realty before but never will again. We were not treated as valued return customers. I would highly recommend NOT using Island Realty for you vacation needs!
