Our server was very nice and friendly, but she forgot some side stuff that comes with the dishes which was weird.The food was average compared to the price, where we had better quality ones with the same price point. We ordered the Famous Coconut Shrimp, Baja Tacos, Island Tacos, Beach Burger, Shrimp Po’Boy, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, and Blackened Mahi-mahi. The coconut shrimp had too much batter compared to the shrimp (so you mainly tasted the batter) and the marmalade with it was okay, Mahi-mahi was dry, burger, crab cakes and the Po’Boy was okay, for the Island Tacos the toppings overpowered the shrimp so you could not really taste that, but the Baja Tacos was actually pretty good.We also ordered the Mango and Pina Colada (non-alcoholic) smoothies, and I thought they were good.Atmosphere had a nice vibe with the beach, but it was already cold and they still had the fans on so we were freezing inside (and we chose to sit inside because we thought that it would be warmer but we were wrong).Overall, this place is good for trying once but that’s it.

We stopped in for a drink and a snack while exploring the area. We sat overlooking the beach. The pinacolada was probably one of the best I have had. We ordered appetizers, and what my husband wanted wasn't on the menu. Our server was able to get him what he wanted, and it tasted even better than he expected. My parents shared the shrimp nachos and it was so good. The service was fantastic and I am so sad I don't remember our servers name. Next time we are in the area I will look for her and hopefully update. She did an outstanding job with everyone on the patio.

This place was amazing, food was superb and full of flavor, views were outstanding. However, what really made the experience wonderfully perfect was Hailey. I had made three mistakes with my order... these were my mistakes not hers or the establishment, but she corrected all of them... again they were my mistake and she smiled, friendly, and never made me feel guilty. GREAT JOB HAILEY, BECAUSE OF YOU I WILL RETUEN WHEN EVERY MY WIFE AND I ARE IN TOWN. Tell your boss's you deserve a raise!!!!!

Last Friday (Feb. 2) was my second time eating at Coconut Joe’s. I dined around 3 PM after enjoying about two hours on the beach. The service was exceptional! I was seated outdoors immediately, and my server, Jill, took such great care of me.For drinks, I had the Pina Colada smoothie (non-alcoholic; I requested dairy free also). Upon Jill’s recommendation, I combined the strawberry and pina colada smoothie, which was super delicious!For my meal, I ordered the Island Shrimp Nachos, but upon request, the staff was able to swap about the shrimp for the Blackened Mahi Mahi. I requested the pineapple coconut salsa on the side and no queso. Jill was such a delight because she asked me if I wanted to add a side of tomatoes and salsa verde to substitute for the queso. I said yes, and what a great choice, because funny thing, all of my sauces were on the side (bbq sauce—my favorite 😋; pineapple coconut salsa, sour cream, tomatoes, and the salsa verde).I appreciate the effort and care that the staff and Jill, especially, provided for me. The nachos were good. I do wish that there was more Blackened Mahi Mahi on the nachos, but it was a very filling meal. When I asked for a to-go box, Jill gave me a box and a large branded bag to store my nachos and also, she, delightfully, gave me another side of bbq sauce and pineapple coconut salsa upon request.Overall, five stars for the service, atmosphere (you cannot beat a beachfront view), and the flavors of the Pina Colada and Island Nachos. I plan to return whenever I take another day beach trip to Isle of Palms. 😊

We try to at Coconut Joe's every time we are in the Charleston area. Great atmosphere, especially on the rooftop or patio. Coconut shrimp is fantastic, burgers are huge and fresh, and their fried shrimp is delicious too. Can get very busy so early afternoon is a perfect time. For a true "Carolina beach" experience, you should certainly stop by.Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant is on the 2nd floor, but elevator accessible.

Over the weekend our family dined at Coconut Joes in Isle of Palms and we have to say, what a great establishment and atmosphere! The food and drinks were fantastic and received excellent service from our server Adam. We had a little bigger group and were seated inside on the first level of 2. Adam had several other tables during our visit and was very personable and made sure to accommodate our group and provide the best recommendations and was happy to even go upstairs for a certain beer on tap numerous of times. Overall, what a wonderful place and hardworking friendly staff. We will recommend to anyone and return when we vacation again.

We stopped in for lunch after walking on the beach at IOP. Rooftop was nice, you can see the ocean. Food was really good. The pimento cheese grits were amazing! The only downside was the music. It was al auto-tuned club music and all the songs seemed to use the F word repeatedly and it wasn't censored. Just seemed uncalled for and took away from what could be a really nice vibe.

WoW!We stopped in here for a quick bite after some beach time. We ended up staying to watch the sunset and listen to live music. Piña Coladas were great. The staff was super.Go! You'll love it!

A delicious dinner after a day at the beach 🏖. Walk up from the beach. Go to bar order food/drinks if you have a wait for a table. We sat at a cozy outdoor couch beside the bar that was open. Ocean view! Delicious shrimp and grits. We got wings and chicken & fries and grilled shrimp with a side of bbq sauce. So many drink selections. Can craft & full liquor bar. Comfy hammock chairs downstairs!

We recently vacationed in Charleston and drove down to Isle of Palms for an afternoon. Coconut Joe's was great! We had a bit of a wait, but that was expected since we were there at peak dinner hours. We were able to walk down to the beach using the public beach access from the restaurant until a table was available, which was a plus.The service was excellent. The food was great. We ordered the shrimp nachos appetizer and they were incredible. I ordered shrimp and grits, my husband ordered a shrimp Po boy, my kids ordered grilled cheese sandwiches. We were all pleased with our meals. The live music and views from the roof top were awesome. Definitely recommend!!

Visited Isle of Palms with our pups and saw this cute little restaurant, so we decided to try it! They allow pups on their outdoor patio as well as their rooftop deck!We were seated by the window with a beautiful view! It was a little cool that day but the heaters were on and it was very comfortable! We were greeted promptly by Shawn (an amazing waiter) and he took our order. Within minutes our drinks and appetizers arrived. The pina coladas are amazing, one of the best I’ve ever had! Very creamy, topped with whipped cream and toasted coconut, but not too sweet. The fried pickles are delicious, especially dipped in the aioli that it comes with! The Buffalo wings are crispy, saucy and delicious! We also had the mahi tacos, the flour tortilla is lightly grilled and they are stuffed with goodness! Everything was a 10! We will definitely return!An absolute, definite must try if you’re in the area!!

We visited on a Saturday evening and had no wait for an inside table! After a long day on the beach, this restaurant was exactly what we needed! Sitting in our sandy beach outfits we waited a good amount of time for our food, but the views were great and the waitstaff was very friendly! The menu had a lot of great options and each of us were incredibly satisfied with our meals! We recommend anyone near the beach check this place out, especially for the coconut shrimp!

Waited 15 minutes to be seated. We ordered drinks at the bar while we waited. The girl who was bartending had a snappy attitude. Once we were seated, we got waited on fairly quick. And unlike the bartender, our waitress was nice and attentive. We had fried pickles and we all ordered burgers. The food was good. Tasted great. Only problem is it took an hour to come out. They definitely need some help staff wise, in the kitchen and at the bar.
