The two dogs we owned had stayed at Tammy's in the past. They have since passed away. Whenever we needed them to stay at Tammy's Pet Shack, they looked forward to going there and were happy when they jumped out of the back of our Suburban to go inside. We have two new "girls" and plan to start having them get used to Tammy's so they will be familiar with it when we need to go out of town. I do not understand the negative reviews - it is totally different from our experience. The people there were nice and friendly, the area was clean (it smelled like dogs but DUH - they have dogs there!! and it certainly was not an unpleasant odor), and our dogs liked it there.

My dad and I won a 25 dollar gift card for a groom and bath so we took our dog Lela who is a 20 pound terrier mix. When we arrived we were appalled by the appearance of the place, but decided because we drove over an hour to get there, we mine as well just give it a chance. So we take her and it's about 9:45 in the morning and the very rude and unprofessional man working (Tammy's son) told us that she wouldn't be done until 2:00! Four hours for a bath and haircut on a dog? When 2:00 finally rolled around, we go to get her and pay and Tammy's son said "it took 3 of us to hold her down so it'll be $35 dollars extra." She is a 20 pound dog, I find it hard to believe it took 3 people to hold her. I can give her a bath just fine on my own and don't have to have 2 extra people to hold her down. When we got her home she wasn't acting the same, she just slept all day and didn't want to do anything, we took her to the vet and the vet told us that she was extremely traumatized. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!

We boarded our dog when we had to leave town unexpectedly. They were difficult to get a hold of initially (on a Saturday), but once we did they were very accommodating & the price was cheaper than expected.
