Decent seafood place along Skull Creek. I had the Mahi-Mahi and my wife had the Salmon. We both had cocktails, those were good also. The house salad was good with the homemade vinaigrette . We had a decent view of the creek from our inside seats. They also offer outdoor seating but I didn't really think the views from there were that much better than from inside where's there A/C. Prices weren't terrible for a touristy area. Service was good. Atmosphere was okay. This is the first place we've eaten at in Hilton Head so I have no basis of comparison to other seafood places in the area yet - so all I can say is, we enjoyed our meals.

This review is for The Boathouse where boats are stored, and their docks, not the restaurant next door called Skull Creek Boathouse. We moved to Hilton Head in June of 2022 and were able to ultimately get our boat into The Boathouse for Dry Storage. We had stored our 24 foot boat previously off the Potomac River in Virginia at another dry storage marina. We have been very happy with the friendliness and quality of the people that work there, and the speed with which they can get your boat in the water after you call. It's recommended to call ahead, we usually call an hour before. The Boathouse is located conveniently on the Intracoastal waters, you are out of the No Wake Zone quickly and have ready access to all that Hilton Head, Bluffton, Beaufort have available by boat. We have talked mostly with Joe, who is as nice and personable as any human I have met in my 56 years. It is very cool to come back from a day on the water, and walk up from the docks to the cool atmosphere, lights, and sounds of the surrounding restaurants (Skull Creek Dockside, Skull Creek Boathouse, and Hudson's Seafood House On the Docks). Most of the time you are greeted with the sounds of the Live music as you walk past Skull Creek Boathouse, to the parking lot. The music draws you in and makes you enjoy coming back from the water. Thanks to everyone that works for The Boathouse, look forward to many more years with you taking good care of our boat and helping us get out on the water.

One of our favorite restaurants on the island. Nice views of the surrounding area, especially at sunset. Food and service have always been good.

Usually go there every year on vacation...kind of disappointed this year with the service. I understand the help is shorthanded, but our waitress seemed to get lost along the way.... we had a large crowd, when our dinner was served, food was not hot! Potatoes were medioker... green beans slightly warm...lobster tail the same. They reheated, which made me feel it would be gross... lobster tail was good! It took forever to get everyone served, and the situation was the same for everyone at our table.

We ate at the restaurant there. The food is some of the best on the Island. Sitting outdoors is very pleasant and relaxing. Looking out onto the bay while enjoying great food, drinks & atmosphere is my favorite dining experience in the state.

Food was good, but not outstanding. I felt the prices were high for what you got. We were freezing inside too. Service was good though.

The worst Island dining experience we had. Way overpriced mediocre food combined with rude staff. Picture on left was $35, and we were stuffed onto a tiny table too small for our sized group. If you get seated inside you're at any generic sports bar.

This is a popular place! Very spacious outside patio and it was busy. . .but tables were socially distanced. I highly recommend the SBC Seafood Chowder. . .delicious! This was followed up by the Coco Seared Sea Scallops which were cooked to perfection! The pineapple salsa added wonderful flavor to the dish. Other members of the family had the evening special of blackened halibut. . .also very tasty. The Extravaganza was a HUGE bowl of steamed crab legs, clams, oysters, shrimp accompanied by corn on the cob and potatoes. . .and my sister ate the whole thing!! So I know it was good. If you have room for dessert we'd recommend the Key Lime pie and the Banana Foster Crème Brulee. Great service. . .Marisa made sure we had an enjoyable meal. We'll be back!

Loved the place... the atmosphere was so great and welcoming. The food was okay but they lowcountry boil is nothing I have ever had. Not impressed with it. But overall it was a very nice place.

Purchased an expensive boat a few years ago. Love the boat, but customer service is nonexistent. I called three times asking a question I needed answered about my bilge pump that qould not stop running. Never received a call back. If you want customer service after you spend a lot of money, don't buy here. I certainly will not.

Staff is absolutely outstanding & always take great care of your boat. Tackle shop is the best in the area. New dockage & rack storage recently added too.

Stood in the showroom for twenty minutes next to the boat I wanted to buy and no one approached me. 4 of the sales staff were sitting on a pontoon boat in the corner and never acknowledged I was there. Called the manager the next day and he assured a salesman would call me. Waited three days and no one called.Sent an inquiry to Seals Outboard on line and someone called me within 30 minutes. Drove to Charleston the next weekend and bought a new Sea Hunt 225 with trailer.Have tried to contact the Boathouse service department on multiple occasions with no luck. I guess their business is so good they don’t need new business.

Bad Business and Untrustworthy. Stopped by the Okatie store on a Friday. They showed me a used 2006 222 Grady White for $34,500. I told them I had a budget of $30,000. Spoke to Grant (General Manager) at Hilton Head store and asked for more details. The salesman from Okatie called me on Saturday and offered $31,500. I agreed, gave a credit card for a deposit, and setup an appointment for Monday Afternoon to see the boat. Left work early Monday, gathered wife and kids and got in the car. As we pulled out the driveway(45min prior to appointment), I received a call saying "we couldn't find the trailer we offered you and we now have to add $4000 to the price." Couldn't believe what I was hearing. They did not honor their offer, my deposit, or anything at all. That is bad business in my opinion and ethically wrong. Good luck with these guys. Worked out for the best as I found a 2013 boat in "like new" condition the next day. Wont be back

I've gone through a couple of boats over the years. The staff at the boathouse makes owning a boat as easy as you could imagine. From placing a simple call to the tackle shop to have my boat filled with gas and put in the water to the best boat mechanics I've ever dealt with! If you own a boat, don't hesitate to use these guys for every aspect from storage to maintenance. You can't go wrong! I'm planning to talk with them in the spring about buying another. I've had my eye on a Grady White for a while!

Under sized portions of questionable quality at an over inflated price. Do yourself a favor and dine somewhere else. Definitely won't return.

The service department at the boat house is quite exceptional. If you can’t go wrong with these gentlemen, Michael was a pleasure to work with! Thank you so much for your generosity, what a great business!

This review is for the Boathouse boat repair and maintenance facility. NOT the restaurant. The restaurant is great. The boathouse boat repair service is poor. I was warned by several friends NOT to take my boat to them for service. However, since they were a grady white dealer, then I figured they would be best suited for my repair. When I picked up my boat (the first time), I was shocked at the labor price they charged. I knew they would be expensive, but what they charged me for repair was ridiculous. So, I told myself, you were told they were a rip-off... and I paid the bill and vowed not to return. THEN, about 6 weeks later, one of the parts they replaced failed. So I took it back for them to repair the repair. I specifically told them that if there was going to be a charge for this WARRANTY work, to please call me so I would authorize the charge. They didn't call. When I went to pickup the boat, they told me there was a $75 labor charge for them to replace the part. Their reasoning was that the part was under warranty (because it was brand new)... but I would have to pay for labor for them to replace. This business has a terrible reputation for ripping people off. I've horror stories from other boat owners who were charged $400 for a $50 part... then also had to pay labor for install. Similar stories for excessive time/labor charges for simple repairs... and example... I had them reconnect a fish locker drain hose... mind you... the hose was only 12 inches long, and the access plate was 6 inches away from the hose. You don't even have to stick your hand in the access up to your elbow to reach the location. And they charged me 3 HOURS labor to reconnect the hose. This place is a VERY DISHONEST business. There are too many other boat repair yards to choose from. My suggestion is to go somewhere else.

My wife and I recently purchased a used 18' Parker from the boathouse location on 278 just West of the bridge accross the street from Moss Creek. Great experience our salesman Chris very knowledgeable and helpful. I strongly recommend anyone looking to purchase a boat head to the Boat-house on 278.
