I interviewed many contractors for this kitchen gutting and all were over $120K and 4 months of NO KITCHEN. I found Ben, we had a phone conversation then we met and he immediately started drawing and bringing my vision to life. We had a price and a time line immediately. We signed contracts, gave a deposit and away we went right after Christmas. The job did take a couple of weeks longer due to unforeseen circumstances and headaches from my house. The entire team of AWR did a AMAZING job but I have to say that Edgar is the star of this business who pulls everything together followed by Seth finalizing the small details of paint, caulk, draw pull outs, etc. I felt at ease with Edgar bringing the kitchen to life, he is truly an asset to this company. The attention to details and tirelessly making sure everything is perfect and to my liking "or it goes" combined with Ben always assuring me of that everything would be perfect and IT IS! We did a full kitchen gut and replace with custom black cabinets in a very challenging small space. Moving plumbing, electrical and creating a space that worked cohesively was a true design miracle of Ben and Joe. We did have a few hiccups as expected with a remodel but Ben always took care of every fret I had and worked with my OCD and changing my mind once I saw things coming together.We created an island where there was none, all Amish created custom cabinets and drawers, a coffee bar with pull out cabinet sliders, all new appliances (ZLine) lighted upper cabinets, under cabinet lighting and electrical stations, new counters and full backsplash, spice drawers, utensil pull outs with cutting board slots, custom hood vent and more. There are a few things to finish yet but we love our kitchen and so does anyone who sees it. I will post before and after photos if not too large.

The whole job from the initial planning to the completion was a very pleasant experience. Serena and Joe were great and helpful with the initial planning stage of the job. Edgar, lead carpenter, and Sean were punctual, professional and made sure the area was clean before leaving at he end of the day. Edgar's work was outstanding! His attention to detail and craftsmanship was exceptional. He really took the necessary time to make sure that every cabinet was perfect and met our satisfaction. We highly recommend this company.

Reviewing this company as an employee.I started working here a little over a year ago now, and I have not had even one bad day. Every single person that works in this office and all of the ones I know from the office in Charlotte, are genuinely GOOD and HARDWORKING people. These people care about the quality of work they provide, customers' happiness throughout the entirety of the process of every job, and each other! I have never had a job that I did not dread going to and/or truly felt cared about. I left behind my career that I had such a passion for, to be here, and I mean this with all of my heart, I am never leaving this place. After contacting several companies to consider for redoing our kitchen for our home in Hilton Head, Sc we decided on American wood reface and from the beginning in working with Ben and Joe in measuring and preparing to the installation we couldn’t be happier. As Edgar and Seth showed up they both did an outstanding job in the install. As Edgar lead the project he was kind, thoughtful and respectful of our home and he was diligent and paid close attention to detail. Every aspect of updating our kitchen in Sun City was accomplished with ease. Ben, the salesman, was detailed and efficient gathering our needs. Joe, the gentleman that does all pre install work (including measurements and ordering) completed his work with spot on precision. Bill, the gentleman who reconnected all water and electric, after the countertop install was professional and efficient. We could not believe that we were disconnected for less than 24 hours! Finally, and most impressive of all, Tony & Chris, our installers, where not only thorough, proficient, and efficient in their work, they were so pleasant and polite. We called American Wood Reface and your salesman Ben came to get us started. Ben was very helpful . He explained how the cabinets would be done and told us how long it would take. He said someone would be out to measure and do a layout of the job. A few days later Joe came out and explained his roll in measuring and ordering materials. We set up a date of installation. On Aug. 14, 2023 Chris M. and Tony C. came to start the job. They were courteous and went to work. Over the next few days we watched as our kitchen was being transformed to a new. We have nothing but good things to say about these two men. They worked very hard and cleaned up every night. Your company couldn't have been represented by any better individuals. Ben and his team are the best! Great to work with and his team led by Joe do a phenomenal job. They stuck to their timeline and even brought in an extra crew to finish on time. We had very cheap cabinets as previous owner bought the lowest quality cabinets. He replaced a few drawers, extended the island with a custom cabinet and raised our upper cabinets another 12 inches In addition to refacing the cabinets. Recently my son’s friend was visiting and pushed the garbage down so hard he bent the glider. I emailed Ben and within 90 minutes he responded and said he will have his service rep contact me. She called right away and set up the appointment for someone to come out. They fixed the glider under warranty. AWRF has done two kitchens for us. Ben does a great job helping design and price the cabinets. Prompt, courteous, thorough.Seth and Joe's installation is as good as any custom build we have ever had done. They did both kitchens in 2.5 days each, and these were not small kitchens.The installation is simply perfect. Joe and Seth are utterly professional, meticulous, painstaking. They take care to control dust with zip walls, clean up at the end of the day, and left the kitchen cleaner than we do. If we move again in their area, they will do another kitchen for us.You cannot go wrong with their work, and the pricing is fair and reasonable. We have remodeled or built 6 kitchens. Nobody does a better job than Ben, Seth, and Joe.

We just completed a re- facing of the kitchen cabinets in our recently purchased home. Five years ago we had the same work done in our condo kitchen and bathrooms. Both times it was done by Joe, this time with help from his son Seth. Both times, the work was excellent, and done in a timely fashion. Joe is careful, meticulous, highly skilled, a real craftsman, and a pleasure to have in the house. He came to do the work exactly when he promised, and stayed with it until it was finished. This company was referred by a friend. What a great referral. I had four kitchen designers come to my house. One forgot the appointment. One walked out saying he couldn't help us. One couldn't even give me a ball park figure on the cost. Then Ben came along from American Wood Reface. He was prompt, honest and extraordinarily helpful. American Wood Reface did our Hilton Head kitchen. The cabinet doors are made by by Amish woodworkers and they were perfect: great craftsmanship. They also made new dovetail joint drawers;all solid wood which will last forever. Very good process from start to finish. There were a few small problems which were addressed quickly.Just measure your distance from your counter top to the bottom of your upper cabinets to make sure your counter top "stuff" will fit. They installed a trim piece on the lower edge of the upper cabinets, and now our coffee maker will not easily fit under the cabinets. We should have measured first. The trim piece may be optional, so that you will have adequate room under the upper cabinets. We are glad we chose this company to reface our cabinets! :)

I used American Wood Reface to put pull out shelves in my bottom kitchen cabinets and a spice rack on my pantry door. We had American Wood Reface our kitchen and bathroom cabinets from a dark cherry to a ballet white. They built and installed all new kitchen drawers, along with soft close door and drawer hinges. Joe had built us a new cabinet to line up with our existing cabinets since the old one protruded out so far. We couldn’t be happier with how our kitchen and bathrooms look and would highly recommend them.

With so many vendors not doing what they say they are going to do, not making the dates they promised and overall completing sub-par work, it is refreshing to see that there are still vendors out there not only are the antithesis of those characteristics, but also take pride in their work and have integrity! I don't know about you, but we almost dread committing to having any work done anymore for fear of all of the problems that come with it.That has changed for us! Working with Joey and Serina Gutowski at American Wood Reface was absolutely the best vendor experience we've ever had. Not only were they absolutely wonderful to work with in the planning and remodel, Serina was wonderful in making suggestions for the design - she even found matching granite for us so we didn't have to replace all of our existing granite. Additionally, when issues arose, they owned them and took responsibility to get them corrected without any effort on our part. They completed the work as scheduled and they made sure we were absolutely happy with the work. Who does that anymore? I love the company. We purchased our condo knowing we were going to have to do lots of updating, however, I thought we could get by just painting our kitchen cabinets. So with that in mind we added granite counter tops and back splash. Then we discovered cabinets were in worse shape than we thought, couldn’t replace because we now had granite so I called these guys. From the time Brad came out to show us product and choices, to Joe who measured, to the guys who installed, everything went quickly and smoothly. Boy did it change the look of the kitchen! The one thing I did not do was replace the drawer boxes. I thought we could get by without doing so. Memorial Day I reached to pull out drawer and door came off in my hand, box was basically junk.I called company on Thursday, they had Joe here on Friday and he came out with a way to reattach the door without it costing us to replace the drawer boxes, although if we have this problem again we will do so. We should have done so to begin with but lesson learned.We are going to have them back out to reface the bathroom cabinets.I can’t recommend this company enough! If you are thinking about an update without totally replacing the cabinets, this is the company to call.
