I personally don't like animal parks or zoos in general, but this place was clean and it looked like all of the animals were very well fed. Lots of snakes and we went on Easter day. One of the pythons was eating an Easter bunny on Easter morning. I figured out of respect for the Easter Bunny they could have given the pythons pigs for that day only. But I guess nobody cares about the Easter Bunny anymore lol. It was a cheap thing to do to get us off of the highway for a little while.

This place was really amazing! They have an enormous population of crocs, gators, turtles, tortoises, venomous snakes, and a few lizards. The animals all appear to be well cared-for, and many have moving water running through their habitats. We took our time, and never felt rushed.Just a really awesome place to visit!

I was going to sit this one out and let the rest of the fam walk through but the guy at the desk talked me in to going in as well. I expected a kitschy tourist stop to match the exterior but instead it was a really clean cool set up with lots of creatures that look very well cared for. Me and my boys loved it and I am so glad I went in! It is quite the gem!

This place was a hidden gem! Our dad wanted to take a nap on our drive so we went in here to kill time and it was a pleasant surprise. Only $14 for the two of us to enter and we had it to ourselves. The enclosures were large and clean and the layout was neat with a wide path and lots of tropical plants. The snakes were very cool as well.

Probably the best bang for your buck reptile exhibit I have ever seen. It was $8 a person and well worth what we got out of it. As a reptile keeper myself, I was very impressed with the wide variety of species they had. Very impressed with the alligators, crocodiles, and specially the snakes. People talk about how the alligators and crocodiles look fake, if you bring a hat, dangle it in front of them as if you're holding a piece of me and they will move. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. They have plenty of space to move around that are well taken care of contrary to other reviews. It is not fully comparable to a high dollar reptile museum but for eight bucks it was completely worth our money, I would have gladly paid double that for what we got out of it. Please go here to support this place and the endangered species it houses. Thank you.

Kids three and under get in free, adults are $8 and your ticket is good for the whole day. The exhibits are well taken care of and feature a number of different alligators and crocodiles, turtles, tortoises, and snakes. Great place for kids and fun for adults too. Side note for other visitors: it's normal for snapping turtles to have algae on their shells, and for crocodilians and snakes to not move much, even to the point of looking statue-like.

A lot of fun and interesting to see for being a part of a tourist trap like South of the Border. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and so did the kids.Price for entry: $7

I would rate the reptile lagoon zero stars but that wasn’t an option. Overall the environment was very depressing, none of the animals were moving and if they were they were banging against the glass. One turtle was pressing against the glass and the water was very foggy and I couldn’t even tell there was something in there. Another turtle was covered in algae. The alligators and crocodiles weren’t moving at all or even blinking I couldn’t even tell if they were alive or not. The signs say “endangered and threatened” but SOB isn’t helping the situation. My children and I were very disappointed they were crying because the reptiles looked sad. I just wanted to give an honest opinion of the South of the Border Reptile Lagoon in South Carolina. So please reconsider going to this place in particular, I know I won’t be returning.

My kids absolutely loved this place! When we came all the most venomous snakes came to life just slithering and moving along the glass, and the staff came out to inform us of thier background and knowledge of each snake. It was fascinating! We really loved it.

We expected some type of typical tourists attraction but ended up being very pleased. Entry was $8 per person. Reptile Lagoon has a very large selection of alligators, crocodiles, and snakes. All appear to be taken care of well. I would have liked seeing a few more lizards. There were a few turtles on display as well. I had never heard of most of the species on display.

Not big on reptiles and all but I enjoyed myself. It was very fascinating the residents are friendly and picture ready. They just chill and I like it. I was welcomed by a beautiful Parakeet name "Milo." At first he acts super innocent but "o boy" he is a "gent" very active. I would recommend visiting this establishment if you are in town. Even if you are a local!

This place was awesome! I've been bugging my husband to bring me for several years, and we FINALLY had time to stop on our way from VA to FL. I was excited to see the crocodiles, but the venemous snakes stole the show...there were SO MANY of them! Way more than I've ever seen in any zoo exhibits. We got there late, so I only had an hour to stroll through, but I would definitely go again in a heartbeat!

One of the coolest places I've ever found in this part of the country. If you like animals you have to stop here. Been here three times over the past few years, always like stopping on my trips to South Carolina. They have a wide selection of crocodiles and alligators as well as rare and exotic snakes. Staff is always friendly and willing to talk about the animals if you ask.

Very clean! The most well kept reptile exhibit I've been too. Great selection of alligators and snakes. They have a 18.5ft king cobra that is very impressive. Kinda in the middle of nowhere but definitely worth a stop. $8 a person and well worth it.
