I’ve been taking my Golden Doodle, Kipling, to Urban Yap for about a year now, and every single visit has been awesome! It’s clear from the get-go these folks really have a heart for dogs. They know their stuff, and my dog always feels super comfortable there.Urban Yap handles everything from haircuts to nail trimming and ear cleaning, and they nail it every time. My dog tends to be a bit on the anxious side, but he’s always calm and happy there. It’s obvious the people at Urban Yap don’t just work with animals; they truly care about them.The place itself is always clean and tidy, with everything they need to do a quality grooming job. They’ve always been straight up about prices, which I really appreciate.After a year of regular visits, I can honestly say my dog looks and feels fantastic and they cater to his sensitive coat needs. They genuinely love dogs and go above and beyond to make sure they’re healthy and happy.I highly recommend Urban Yap to any dog owner. They’re not just good at what they do; they’re amazing!

I have been using Urban Yap primarily for the location. I will not be returning. The last 2 times I have been there I have not been happy with the grooming and had to return to have it fixed. They blame my dog for their poor grooming, yet the report sheet always has positive comments. No other groomer has ever said our dog was a problem. Urban Yap needs to own up to grooming mistakes. If they are going to charge a ridicules amount for a dog hair cut, the customer should be treated well and so should their dog.

I thought we had found a forever dog groomer but lately the experience has been terrible. We promptly get there before the scheduled 9 am appointment and they still don't start grooming a little schoodle until 12:30 pm. They never apologize or state what the problem is. Just say come back. It's beyond frustrating. Never going back ever again. If staffing a problem, stop over booking.

My dog is older. I expressed concerns about her endurance. They had her in and out in 2 hours. She was perfect and beautiful.I was told the pet spa is under new management when I was there mid February of 2023.They were amazing! I will be booking again!

I am thrilled to have found this place! All three of my doggie babies were pampered and treated like family. The huge plus was Kim! She is the front of the house… Kim went out of the way to make sure everything was covered since it was our first time. My “boys” were also very comfortable with her. We have had bad experiences elsewhere so they are not happy when I have to take them to get groomed. Thank you Kim for giving us a great experience!!!

What a great bunch of people. I got treated horrible at PetSmart grooming for the last two and half weeks and the staff at Urban Yap was there to rescue our Maltipoo Elsa. I had been trying to get her from med for almost a month and urban yap took at at the last minute on a Thursday. My Elasa was struggling with the heat and needed to be groomed. Thank you so much for making time for her you have a new customer!!!

I love LOVE Urban Yap! When my dog first started coming to the groomer she was scared and super unsure of herself. I switched to Urban Yap because of the kind of grooming system they have in place. She is a totally new dog! thanks to their advice and help, she is now super confident and excited when she goes to the groomer! I love how much they value the safety of my dog during the grooming process and how they have helped guide me to be a better dog owner! Plus she always looks super cute when i pick her up! <3

I recently rescued a puppy who had been neglected and out in the elements for far too long. I took her several places to try and get help but was told a vet would need to put her under to get her groomed because of the discomfort she would likely experience releasing such tightly matted hair. A fellow dog lover heard me asking for help at another establishment and recommended I try Urban Yap to see if they might be able to help, she told me they are the best around and if anyone can help it would be them. I’m so thankful I stopped by with my girl because they were so so kind and compassionate. We were not scheduled for an appointment and I assumed we would need to wait days for help. My poor pup was in discomfort and they recognized that and immediately offered to help release her face on the spot to help make her more comfortable. Thankfully she did so well, and she was in such bad shape, they didn’t want to let her leave in such condition and they offered to try and get her taken care of same day. I’m beyond thrilled with the results! And I’m so thankful she didn’t have to go for days waiting for an appointment with a vet. They also went above and beyond taking care of her by making sure we had everything we needed for our new family member. I really don’t feel like I can adequately express how thankful I am for the kindness and compassion shown to my sweet puppy at Urban Yap. I will be returning and I will recommend them to all my friends in the future. If you want a groomer who truly cares about your pet’s well-being then look no further. Thank you Urban Yap!!!

Took my goldendoodle puppy in for her first haircut today and absolutely had the best experience! They were able to get her in with my 2 black labs and they all came out happy and looking great! You could tell they had been loved on and had a great time!

Not a fan of this place. I’ve been using them for awhile mainly for the location but this will be my last visit. My dog absolutely hates it there. Several times I’ve dropped him off at 9am and then he’s not ready until 4pm. Why?! Don’t set appointments then. My dog has anxiety so going and sitting on a crate all day messes him up.

No need to explain what happened. Unreasonable price, will find a way to rip off your money, can’t tell the difference when they are ”groomed”, customer service HORRIBLE absolutely HORRIBLE. You will wait HOURS for pick up. All they care about is business and not put enough effort on the dogs. I don’t like leaving bad reviews at all. But THIS is UNACCEPTABLE. Trust me I’m doing you a huge favor. Such ashamed to have this experience with them.

My roommate and I recently rescued an adorable schnauzer named Pepper. We wanted Pepper to get a nice haircut and wonderful doggy spa experience, so we chose Urban Yap since it was close to home. My roommate called to set up an appointment a few days prior and I showed up the day of about 30 minutes early. When I arrived there were two employees in the waiting area and they were not warm or friendly AT ALL. I explained that Pepper was an older dog and that he was blind in one eye and was hard of hearing (my roommate already mentioned this to them but I just wanted to remind them). I won’t go into major detail and bore you with specifics but they seemed annoyed and acted like they didn’t even want to deal with me from the beginning . I’ve been working in customer service for over 14 years and the woman that assisted me was the owner and the other woman, I’m assuming was the groomer. When you’re paying $70 dollars for a dog cut and wash, then I kind of expect decent customer service....just saying. I’m sure they deal with crazy customers and very needy clients but we were definitely not any of those things AT ALL!!!! I will never recommend this establishment to any of my dog lovers and I truly hope that your business works on you client experience. First things first....smile and treat people the way that you would want to be treated every single time. I truly hope that you change this small act bc it will truly help your spa in the future as well as your reputation.

My wife and I were very picky about choosing a groomer for our pup, but we are extremely satisfied with Urban Yap. They do a quality job at a good price and they always remember my dog’s name when I bring him in! I’d recommend to anyone. We now buy all our dog’s food and treats from here as well to support them.

Urban Yap does a great job grooming our sweet puppy. She has been 3 times now and is groomed to our liking. The reason for the 3 stars is due to the very judgmental questions we receive afterwards, such as...Do you brush your dog? Of course we brush our dog...we may not have 1-2 days before the grooming session but we 100% bathe, brush and treat her like a princess. This last visit we were told that she nipped at the groomer then asked if she had obedient issues. She is a PWD which is a very mouthy dog...hence why we left a toy with the groomer. If you have your hands anywhere near her mouth she will move her face to try and chew/nip on something. We use the toy to redirect her as we are working on training against this. Our 9 month puppy is very well behaved when we are in public and she follows our commands. We understand that puppies bite and would hope that we would not have been told she wouldn't be allowed back if it continued. Ultimately we have just felt very judged and uncomfortable when we pick up our dog.

We love Urban Yap. Our dog walks in like he knows he is treated like a king. We had an appointment Friday and LeAnn did a great job with Patches. When they brought him out to us they were loving on him just like we do. We know we will get excellent care and treatment for our very special family member every time.

Our sweet labradoodle came out today looking amazing. The groomer had to cut her very close bc of matting at the base, which is common with doodles if not combed thoroughly. We had a crazy summer with a move, and our pup missed her regular groom and regular comb throughs. In the 2 1/2 years since her birth, we've had her groomed several times at a place on Augusta Rd and then tried a small place downtown. Over the past few months, after a recommendation and desire to try and find somewhere a bit more convenient to where we live, we tried a groomer on Haywood Road. None of these places were terrible at all, but after picking her up this afternoon from Urban Yap, she's never looked so sweet... even with the tight cut. We love our dog and are happy to have discovered Urban Yap.

These ladies are fantastic! I have taken my boy Jack in to get his nails trimmed three times (without an appointment). Each time that have greeted me with a smile and lots of love to Jack. They have taken him back right away. They even kept him for a short bit while I ran next door for a hair cut! I highly recommend these professional and compassionate ladies. Thank you!

They do a nice job but overbooked on Saturdays. Our dog was dropped off at 10 am and isn’t ready until 4:30. He’s a 12 lb dog so it means he sat around all day in a crate. This has happened several times without change so we’ll be going somewhere else.

This establishment is amazing and the service is above and beyond. They cater to the needs of your pet and you can tell they really care about each of them individually. The owner and employees are full of compassion and kindness and I will certainly be making Urban Yap my baby's new grooming care takers!!!

Urban Yap is a very upscale Doggie Boutique with lots of cool things in it. It carries very high end dog food and treats at reasonable prices and the owner will order something you want if she doesn't carry it. I have a dog that is a "wash and wear" so I haven't used the grooming salon but I have heard the groomers are very good.
