We stumbled upon Ms. Kathryn's place on a whim, out exploring while camping at Lake Greenwood. We had the place all to ourselves, and she gave us the grand tour complete with a look at the incredible train room above the store. Would seem the place has fallen in a bit of disarray, but that did not deter us from enjoying the beautiful property, meeting all her "kids" and we even got to play with her new Vizsla puppy! When you visit, be patient and be kind. You never know what someone is going through.

I love this farm! They are so nice and friendly! This is a family owned farm.(Wheelchair friendly)There are 2 gift shops filled with all kinds of neat handmade items! Its a must see when visiting! If you or your children are into the train sets/models, then don't forget to Ask them about their amazing train town they have in their main store. The train model is mind blowing at the size and the amount of work they have put into it!! Their handmade soaps and lotions are wonderful!! My son has eczema and the goats milk and oats really help his skin. They accept cash and cards. They also make their own honey! They have a train that you can ride that covers a good portion of the farm, if you have kids they will love the train ride through the tunnel and around the farm. There are goats and fish, make sure you bring lots of quarters to let your children feed them! They do have outside bathrooms available by the playground over by the pond. There is a nice size patio area as well where you can sit while the kids play.

Great for what it is! Feed ducks and goats, run through fields, play on the train table. Our only complaint is that when paying for food, we would expect a little more to come out of the machine. But it is still a great time. As soon as you approach the feed machine the ducks swarm. The ladies in the soap shop were quite kind.

Emerald Farms was the perfect destination for our homeschool field trip! I was truly shocked that I had not discovered this hidden jewel before now!We spent several hours visiting and feeding the animals. The store was full of antique items that were a great educational opportunity for my child. However, the highlight of the day for us, was going upstairs to the Railroad Clubhouse that housed the largest arrangement of working model trains that we'd ever seen! It was amazing to see the amount of detail in the set ups!We ended our visit with a picnic snack by the fish pond and playground.Such a great day and experience! We'll definitely be returning soon!

Drove an hour and a half, and had a sign on the door that gave a number to call and said "they were at the house, call this number and we will be right down." Called 3 times and went to a full voice mail. There web site said 9-5, the sign on the door said open, the number was a waste of time to try to call, and still wasted gas and time. Would not recommend wasting time trying to visit Emerald Farms.

Very disappointing. No doubt this used to be a fun attraction, but unfortunately it is desperately in need of TLC. The buildings and grounds are desperately in need of repair and upkeep. None of the stores/buildings were open. There are broken cars sitting around, and we felt maybe we shouldn't have been there since the few people we saw were working on cars. The train followed a route that was overgrown and displayed one run down house or display after another. We wish we could have seen it how it used to be. There were a few goats in a shed, but that was about it. Please be careful on the train ride. The tunnels are very low - and failing to duck could be dangerous. Sad to have to say it wasn't worth our time to drive out there.

Emerald Farm is a beautiful place. I stopped by to pick up some of their hand made goats milk soaps. They were lightly scented and some of the best organic body soap I have tried.

All excited to drive out here based on reviews but was disappointed. It is not kept up. We went on the train but there was nothing to see along the way—everything was broken down and obviously from years ago. When we came back to give them money for our tickets no one was even around—all stores had handwritten signs up that they were elsewhere and to call their cell phones. We left the money in the door. Didn’t get to shop in any of the stores. Maybe something happened? Based on the way the place looked we were reticent to feed the 3 goats—Sadly a wasted trip. I bet it used to be a nice destination!

First time visit , no one was there , train ride not available , lady rude . We were in the store the whole time alone , I needed quarters to feed animals but lady left us alone in the store . They don't like drop-ins, highly don't recommend . Children didn't get a train ride or to see the train display they were rude and we had to wait for everything they don't need to allow drop-ins .

Nice scenery but the farm looked run down. When you ride the train through the woods the little houses and characters are old and kinda of scary looking. The place definitely needs a makeover and more things to do.

Nice family. Not much here but what they do have is nice for kids. They have a really nice model train that my grandson loved. You can feed the ducks or goats. They have peacocks roaming in the yard

We were expecting more. The goats were funs for the kids to feed. The peacocks were beautiful. We drove 3 hours to come visit, in my opinion it was not worth the drive.

Worst experience ever. The farm was empty. I think it's a person experience. We are a bi-racial couple and the few people we saw or heard went inside never to return. So we left I'm black not broke!!!!!!! The picture posted was from a good farm not this hillbilly farm.

This is a neat place I discovered by accident. We went just before closing but the staff didn't try to rush us out at all. They pointed out all of the attractions. It is small but very cute with a few shops, clean restrooms,a duck pond, and goats.

Love Emerald Farms the owner Katherine is a beautiful loving woman. Her goats soap and lotions are all natural ingredients. My husband and grandbaby has eczema, Katherine goats milk is the only lotion that naturally clears up their eczema. If you are in greenwood south carolina its a must to visit Emerald farm

It a quiet farm setting that you can go and feed the fish and baby goats while you're there, I'm not completely sure if the train the used to have still runs anymore. Also you can buy antiques, hobby related stuff, and herbal medicine and soaps.

Down to earth family run. Goat soaps and lotions are wonderful from baby to adult to specialty skin conditions. She ships to anywhere in the US and beyond. We are forever customers 😆

Visiting Emerald Farms has literally changed my life. A big-time animal lover,I had no idea the treat awaiting me as I approached the goat pen to see a feed the goats...In one big stall I saw goats,a bull , and a bed of chicken eggs. Two llamas walked casually in while I was there feeding and petting. I discovered that the mother Llama lies down beside the eggs and warms them in mama.chicken's absence. ..!!!I was amazed at how all the animalsrelate to and take care of each other.Time doesn't allow me right now to comment more on my awe at this glorious,peace-filled farm, but I will say that for me it is a taste of Heaven here on earth ,right here in Greenwood, and I can tell that it will become my second home! I am smitten!!!I had the joy of meeting the" First Lady" of Emerald Farm , from being in her presence I could tell why this place is so wonderful.Mrs. Zahn herself is WONDERFUL beyond words!!!
