Since Saluda Pet Place has been taken over by this new corporation, the customer service team has gone down to the pot. They keep giving me different excuses for my dog’s food not being in the store. Yesterday the man wouldn’t help me move the 32 lb food to my car. The parking lot is hard to get in and out too. I do not plan to go back here because I get angry after entering the store.

Owners down in NC are really weird with their hiring. They try to work out the lowest pay rate possible and threaten the manager to not speak about pay, which is a violation of labor laws.Go support somewhere that actually pays their employees, not just the rich NC owner that runs the business.

ALOT of variety of pet stuff. But, I came in looking for soft dog treats. And all I could find we're the dry biscuit kind my dog doesn't like. I got him bully stick while I was there, he loves it

SUPPORT LOCALLY OWNED BUSINESSES !!Saluda Pet Food is a locally owned chain. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. Joe and his crew work incredibly hard.They carry pretty much everything you would want for your pet dog or cat. Good food options, including some very good brands that aren't carried in big chains.Is it as convenient as Amazon or chewy? Frankly, no. But buying here is supporting our local economy, and to me that's worth it.

A huge proponent for supporting small biz so this is constructive criticism. Consistency in service and taking care of people is one of the keys of having a good business. Haven't been a fan from day one, most items are overpriced and selection is bare. My biggest complaint is not taking care of a customer for 2 years. They closed their Simpsonville location without warning, we were due our free bag of Fromm's after 11 months of buying $70 bags of food. Obviously, we were shocked to find the store closed. Called the North Ave location, they did not have our card for the frequent buyer club and did not offer to take care of us.Shame on you!

I really like working with professionals who not only know their product but have a passion for their job. I walked in there letting them know what I was looking for and the best version of it and without hesitation and a smile, I was given exactly what I needed and a success store they had using the product. And what do you know, I had success using it, too! I love the customer service, the selection you have in a variety of great products and the family feel you get when you go in there. They are conveniently located, as well. Thank you!!

I used to always get my dogs food here until the female (really short and skinny) started working there. I have neck issues and so lifting a 40lb bag dog foods really hard. My husbands work hours never fit with the hours of this place so he gets the food out for me after work. She didnt care, she would check me out, unfriendly and seemed irritated that I interrupted phone time, and turn her back to me to to watch videos on her phone. I was forced to carry this bag and while I was dragging it, I slipped and fell. She turned, looked at me, and snickered before going back to her phone. No offer help even after seeing me struggle. I am sorry but if youre going to hire someone to work there, they need to be able to help customers with their food. After being treated tbis way, I no longer will go back. Ive been going to earthwise, Which is further but at least they will help you and are friendly! Shes the reason you lost out on over $100/month from me. This took it happening 3x, not just once. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

We shopped here last week while out of town and were very impressed with their customer service. The cashier came out from behind the desk to greet our puppy, let us walk around and take everything in, and met us on the other side of the store and offered a duck foot to our puppy - a super nice gesture! He asked if it was okay before he gave it to her, which was greatly appreciated.We ended up getting some Victor dog food, which we haven’t been able to find where we are locally - and they have a ton to choose from! There was even an associate who offered to carry the dog food to the front and held it while we continued to shop around. The associate even carried it to our car after we checked out. A+ customer service, keep up the good work.

Really odd encounter with an employee here. Our local Saluda River closed so we have been traveling to other stores to buy our dog food. And we hate traveling so we usually buy multiple bags when we do go. Big dogs eat a lot. A male employee (owner?) limited how much we could buy. Which I understand, we agreed to the limit. But he then accused us of hoarding while we were checking out.We went to a different Saluda River next time and their employees called this one to transfer the loyalty points and this guy told them to "watch out" for us. Watch out for what, hungry dogs?

Great clean store and friendly workers. I had to get a certain food for my puppy that I couldn’t find any where else (diamond puppy food). Luckily they had it here and the guy that was working helped me get other stuff. Their prices are comparable to pet smart so I will keep shopping here to support an awesome local business.

Seriously the rudest interaction I’ve ever had inside a store. Almost comical. I went in for some flea pills for my dog and they were out of the big dog pulls and so they suggested I just give a double dose of the smaller pills. When I asked when they’d get more in I got, “ I don’t know two or three weeks. We don’t like get them every week. And special order would cost more.” To which I was like okay? Then I asked where the dog food was and the reply was, “all over the place”. Honestly hated being in the store and would never go back or suggest it to anyone. Go to petsmart or petco where they’re actually welcoming and you don’t feel like it’s an inconvenience to be in there.

I drove 45 mins to the simpsonville location 3 time a month for dog food (victor ultra pro) all last year it was hit or miss on the the bag of food I bought... I was told it dont sell.?🤔if it done sell why is it always gone ? So they forced me to buy different bags of food that my dog wouldn't eat or drive a hr to Greeneville location that always had a different price from the simpsonville location.. as far as the free bags of food I received two free bags out of 5 yrs I'd get to 10 or 11 bags in boom my card goes missing... they had me down as Tyrone, Larry,Tron.. depends on the cashier they just made up names..all of the names was due for free bag ..then they dropped the price and canceled the free bag program and then jacked the price back up..without any notice they up and closed down and Greeneville will not honor anything from simpsonville even tho its owned by the the the same family 🤦🏾‍♂️its all good tho luckily I found a place to shop with that take good care of my kennel with lower prices..

Highest quality dog food and some of the friendliest, helpful, customer oriented staff I’ve ever seen. The moment I walked in, the staff paid attention to me, offered to carry my 50 lbs bag of dog food to the register and then to my truck. Great people and they truly take pride in all that they do. It’s the only place we go for our dog now.

I have been to this store 4 times. Twice looking for something for my puppy and twice looking for something for betta fish. Every time I have gone here “they only purchase them every few months and they just don’t have it”. This has happened over Puppy food, betta fish pellets, aquarium, etc. I have never had a staff member talk me out of buying an aquarium because it was to expensive just to go down the street and buy the same one. It seems like every staff member here is trained to respond to your questions with we simply just don’t carry that. Well it’s a pet food and supply store so why not? It’s a shame because this is by far the closet pet supply to to me and could really capitalize on their location if they ever had stock of anything.

I stopped by here after work about 45 minutes before closing and was treated very rudely by the salesperson at the front. She was clearly bothered by me needing help in the store even though I was the only customer in there at the time. I’ll go out of my way to avoid this store in the future.

I went to buy wet food for my cat she is currently using a non grain Iams formula that I fear the company is discontinuing. The middle aged man at the Cash register asked if he could help. The moment I mentioned Iams he interjected that “we don’t carry that here you find that in the grocery store” in an extremely condescending voice. I would like you to know my cat is a really picky eater will only eat that food and I was going to ask for some suggestions of brands I could try to replace what I have been using. I was stunned at this man’s demeanor. I will take my loyal business to a company that will help me with my needs.

Tangie feels secure in the XL crate we purchased last year. Diesel loves the Benebones chew toys because they’re durable enough for his strong chewing. They both enjoy playing at the dog park with their Jolly Ball as well.

This location is fantastic! They have everything I need for my senior Great Dane in one stop. When I have requested specialty items they have always accomodated and been very prompt! I will continued to shop here exclusively for my pet needs!!

Awesome customer service, they approached me to see if I needed any help finding anything, I explained to them the situation I was having and although they didn't know 100% how to solve my dilemma, they didn't hesitate to ask one another and share their options for me to help me out the best they could.
